Romero-Like Zeds in Monroeville

Beya Turner 12:27, 28 March 2008 (GMT)

Suggestion scope
Monroeville

Suggestion description
Note that this is an update from my last suggestion on the same topic, and not a duplicate.
Since Mornoeville is being closed in three days time, Kevan has said that nobody may create a new character in the city. Since this is the case, if zombies continue in their immortal state, it will all just draw to the one conclusion: Zombies win.
I propose that instead of being able to stand back up, zombies die indefinitely, after the gates finally close. This will stick closer to the 'Romero Cannon' and also provide a more challenging and interesting situation for both Zombie and Survivor characters.
The concept has been suggested in one form or other in the past, but as the gates are closing on Monroeville, I feel the survivors there could use a fighting chance, and the zombie players an opportunity to show their ability to plan ahead.

Since Monroeville is closed as of today, Kevan has said that nobody may create a new character in the city. Since this is the case, if zombies continue in their immortal state, it will all just draw to the on conclusion: Zombies win.
I propose that instead of being able to stand back up, when attacked with headshot, Zombies die indefinitely. On top of this, zombies' infectious bite be incurable. This will stick closer to the 'Romero Cannon' and also provide a more challenging and interesting situation for both Zombie and Survivor characters.

Keep Votes

  1. Keep- I'm aware that Kevan has his own plans for the city, but it would be some comfort to be able to fight a battle that either side has an equal chance of winning.
Fair enough, the inhabitance of Monroe may see 'A white mushroom cloud on the horizon', and 'a sudden, blinding white light and explosive heat washes over you, killing you instantly- NEWS UPDATE Monroeville has been destroyed', but until that time comes, I'd like both sides to be given an equal chance. Beya Turner 12:27, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
  2. Keep - I likes its! --The Gecko PKer 15:11, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
  3. Keep - Fixed everything that was wrong with the old one, good job...--/~Rakuen~\Talk Domo.gif I Still Love Grim 15:54, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
  4. Keep - The headshot bit is implemented; looks like Kevan was planning it all along. I do like the notion of infection being incurable, that is very Romero. Of course, to be absolutely true to Romero canon all zombies would have Infectious Bite from the moment of creation.--Jiangyingzi 19:53, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
  5. Keep - Just to clarify, zombies can ONLY be killed with headshot right? Also, infection is now permanent? I said if those two changes were made, I would support this, so I am staying true to my word. Nicely done.--Dr Doom86Phoenix2.gif T PSS 22:59, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
  6. Keep - Beya this was just put in the game today, looks like kevan like your suggestion, and others like it.^_^--Jamie Cantwel3 03:39, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Till Death
  7. Keep - I am keeping on "Make Infection incurable" as the Headshot is already in --Gene Splicer 10:44, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
  8. Keep - I'm more than happy to have zombies die from headshot, but you can't pick and choose from the Romero genre. Headshot kills? Fine. As long as any infectious bite is incurable. I am not creative enough to come up with my own responce, so i just stole one from the last revision Will this get enacted? Probably not. Which is why if you feel sorry for zeds i suggest you visit The Brain Trust.--RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 12:14, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
  9. Keep - The headshot thing is already implemented but I suggest that the infection can be cured only in a powered hospital by a using surgery skill. --Violent-kun 00:32, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
  10. Keep - Although the first section has already been implemented, the infection being permanent makes sense if this is all a Romero game plug. The thing about Monroeville is it's not even trying or intended to be "fair". --FrozenFlame 04:19, 30 March 2008 (BST)
  11. Keep - Yay. --Heretic144 07:07, 30 March 2008 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - the "headshot=perma" part was implemented, the "infection=perma" part is, imho, awful - thus kill. --~~~~ [talk] 18:57, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
  2. Kill - I'm more than happy to have zombies die from headshot, but you can't pick and choose from the Romero genre. Headshot kills? Fine. As long as any infectious bite is incurable. --Rosslessness 22:17, 26 March 2008 (UTC). i am not creative enough to come up with my own responce, so i just stole one from the last revision --Scotw 19:13, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
  3. Kill - As Duke, except "infection=perma" isn't awful in my opinion, it's just too overpowered for the way infection works right now. --PdeqTalk* 19:23, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
  4. Now it's just not balanced. You had me until the permanent infection part. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 19:25, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
  5. Kill -as axe hack--Airborne88Zzz1.JPGT|Z.Quiz|PSS 20:02, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
  6. Kill- Half of this is in the game, the other half is overpowered.--Studoku W! 20:40, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
  7. Kill - How many people can 1 zombie infect with 50 Ap? Way too much I think which makes this an absolutely stupid overpowered suggestion. --Pvt human 08:52, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
  8. Kill - Has anybody mentioned survivors outnumber zombies 100 to 1? If there is an actual statistic, somebody post it, I just made that up. But even if zombie bites were incurable...ugh. --Vandurn 17:16, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
  9. Already implemented/Kill - The thing is, although I'm all for the HEadshot kill bit (which got put in), the infectious bite is overpowered. That means each zombie gets several kills with any breakin. No need to kill the survivor-just infect them all. Had this beena real-time combat game, I would more seriously consider this, but with it being that you hoard 50 APs, being able to launch so many kills with a breakin is just too much. Easy zombie win.--Kolechovski 18:18, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Dupe - of the actual game. this has been done. --WanYao 16:22, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
  2. Possibly implemented? --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 19:24, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
  3. Dupe - Of ingame and possibly the least creative and least balanced method of dealing with the issue. Game over, survivors can't lose now.--Karekmaps?! 20:10, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
  4. Obsolete Half of this has been implemented, and the other half I just don't care for --FXI 20:25, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
  5. Obsolete - as FXI-- Nitro378 07:12, 1 April 2008 (BST)
  6. Obsolete/Spam - Headshot is implemented, and infection is way too overpowered. Imagine; a zombie breaks into your group's safehouse. At 30%, a zombie would be able to bite 15 survivors in 50AP. So now, for 15 survivors it's game over. Fifteen kills in 50AP is NEVER fair. -- The Lethal Trio [Tlk|NTCS|RRF] U! E! 19:27, 2 April 2008 (BST)
  7. Obsolete - As above, the majority of this as been implemented in game. -- Cheese 11:13, 5 April 2008 (BST)
