Dulston is a suburb of Malton, located in the northeast corner of the city. Of note, it contains Treweeke Mall, a bastion of consumerism. Other locations of interest within the suburb include St. Barbara's Church (98,2), Troubridge Cinema (99,0), the Pepperell Museum (91,4), Parrott Towers (94,4), and the ghost-haunted Caffin Library (95,9). A large portion of this suburb's violent history was associated with the many survivor, zombie, and death cult groups vying for control of Dulston. Historically Dulston has shown a tendency towards maintaining a relatively low number of zombies, but a higher than average number of PKers wandering through its streets. This combination of zombie and PKer attraction has led to the creation of one of the more proactive supergroups in Malton history, the Dulston Alliance. In an interesting twist, the suburb is actually stronger away from the border rather than near it, as a large block of empty streets runs up the center, dividing the west half (which features such landmarks as Treweeke Mall, the Whitlock Building, the Bridgeman Building, and multiple factories and warehouses) from the east (which features two of Dulston's three hospitals, the Trood and Beale buildings, and the suburb's only cemetery). Also of note is the surprising block of police stations on the northern border. This varied distribution of resources often leads to the far northeast corner being ruined and full of zombie hordes, as majority of survivors congregate at Treweeke in the southwest and the response time from there to the corner is considerable.

Dulston - More than just a tourist location!

Before the outbreak, Dulston was a relatively peaceful suburb, with a booming textile industry and several NecroTech buildings where new employees were trained. The suburb's main attraction happened to be Treweeke Mall, which frequently attracted shoppers from the surrounding suburbs. During the outbreak, Dulston was deserted with most of its inhabitants evacuated by a military convoy, but military sources outside of Malton report that the convoy never arrived. It was assumed to be lost, with all evacuees now members of the ravenous undead or scattered throughout the city.

If one factor has remained constant it is that even after the fall of Treweeke Mall to Mall Tour '06/'07 and the Big Bash, the invasion of DORIS and the RRF, survivor groups have continued to mobilize in the surburb's defense; taking on different responsibilities throughout Dulston by forming the Dulston Alliance. As a result, Dulston has become one of the safer locations within Malton for survivors seeking safe haven. Since Mall Tour '07, Dulston has become the de facto capitol suburb of Free Zone North.

The Dulston Alliance, a united organization formed from the suburb's various survivor groups, has promised to defend Dulston to the last man.

Barricade Policy
The D.D.D.S originally compiled the Dulston Optimal Defense Diagram back in 2005. This diagram is designed to serve as a specific barricade layout for the entire suburb during regular day-to-day operations. Of course in times of siege or intense suburb-wide zombie attacks, survivors are advised to retreat to Treweeke Mall and follow the Dulston Alliance Emergency Plan.

Revive Points

Revive Points
Revive points have been set up at Duport Avenue (92,4), and Hamerton Road (98,1). Hamerton Road fluctuates as a revive point, due to zombies with Brain Rot taking over now and then plus the sporatic operational status of the Beale Building and the Trood Building. As such, Duport Avenue remains the most reliable place to be revived. Also undead survivors seeking revival should be aware that some survivors groups have taken it upon themselves to reduce the number of standing zombies at any given revive spot whenever there are 15 or more. This has become common practice in light of past sneak attacks orchestrated by zombie groups who choose to hide in plain sight at these locations pretending to seek revival while in actuality they are gathering their forces for assaults on survivor strongholds within Dulston.

It should also be mentioned that, while not a sanctioned revive point for Dulston's larger groups, the cemetery (99,2) located just south of the Trood Building is considered by some survivors to be a revive point due to the Sacred Ground Policy. Of course due to the jaded history of cemeteries within Malton, and the violent nature of the northeast corner of Dulston, getting a revive at the cemetary requires both good timing and a little luck.

Mobile Phone Mast
Dulston's Phone Mast is situated at Parrott Towers (94,4). The group FOXHOUND has claimed responsibility for the mast's daily maintenance and defense. The Electric Light Torchestra has also included the building to both routes covered in their enlightenment-tours through the suburb. With these precautions in place the Dulston Alliance's joint management over the phone mast will no doubt provide all the support the phone mast will ever need.

Survivors sleeping on the streets in the area around Treweeke Mall. --JaredTalk W! P! 02:47, 14 August 2008 (BST)

Survivors are sleeping in the streets all over Dullston. And getting eaten up by the young, upwardly mobile zambahz every singe day. It's normal. --WanYao 03:35, 14 August 2008 (BST)
The cause of this homelessness problem has been attributed by some survivor spokespeople as the result of an almost pathologically obsessive over-barricading of resource buildings and other entry points. This phenomenon, known as "Fiddler's Green Syndrome", has been observed by sociologists studying human interactions inside Malton's unique, and uniquely isolated, urban milieu. It -- quite paradoxically -- occurs most commonly in suburbs with the highest survivor-to-zombie ratios. The most successful treatment found to date involves massive pre-frontal lobotomisation. Such procedures are best conducted by professionals in possession of medical Barhahlauriates obtained from certified educational institutions. (Miskatonic University is a noted leader in this field.) --WanYao 04:22, 15 August 2008 (BST)

With the brave effort of Dulstonian survivors, the Trood Building and St. Barbara's Church was retaken. Only Troubridge Cinema remains in the hand of the dead. Zombie horde are waiting in the dark and ruined building. And it will require another considerable effort to take them out. -- Kittithaj 14:24, 5 August 2008 (BST)

As of now, Troubridge is back in survivor hands, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the same survivors who retook Trood. --Kikashie Read the Dispatch! 22:30, 12 August 2008 (BST)

July 2008

July 31st

The Trood Building fell to the zombie horde today. It is now ruined with 8 zombies inside. St. Barbara's Church suffered the same fate; ruined with 9 zombies outside. Next possible targets for zombie siege would be the Much Arms, Anne General Hospital, and the Beale Building. Lots of zombies ex-survivors are waiting for revival at Hamerton Road and nearby cemetery. Come on, everyone! We need all the help we can get in the Northeast. -- Kittithaj 15:24, 31 July 2008 (BST)

Last I did a necronet scan in the the Beale Building, I counted around 45 zombies in the north east with 10 of them being at revive points waiting for a revive. Much Help would be appreciated in restoring order to the north east. --Sparticulous 17:54, 31 July 2008 (BST)

July 27th

8 zombies attacking the Trood Building with 12 zombies still inside Troubridge Cinema. There is a total of 22 zombies in the north east of Dulston. Only dead bodies outside of the Anne General Hospital with breakends pratically daily. --Sparticulous 17:56, 27 July 2008 (BST)

July 24th

Zombies attacking several buildings in the Northeast of Dulston. Last time i went lurking around this morning, there were several groups of 3 to 6 outside of most buildings. Troubridge Cinema has once again been ruined by zombies who are watching horror films in the theater. Power out in most of the north east and several break ends at the Anne General Hospital with the help of zombie sympathizers and zombies alike. --Sparticulous 23:46, 24 July 2008 (BST)

July 19th

Zombies are attacking the Northeast part of Dulston. Troubridge Cinema has been ruined... again. There were breaches at the Trood Building, St. Barbara's Church, and Anne General Hospital. All of those buildings, except the not-really-useful cinema, are now under survivors'control. There are about 15 zombies in the area however. And somebody is using the Dulston Alliance radio frequency to call even more zombies to this fine suburb. Be prepared, Dulstonian. -- Kittithaj 16:03, 19 July 2008 (BST)

Some more PKers are back in town, too... a few of Meow's crowd were causing trouble in The Whitlock Building earlier. Mikeage 22:05, 19 July 2008 (BST)

External Military: "... twenty or so in Dulston ... mostly just small groups ... power's on across most of the area ... infrastructure looks intact too ... Treweeke Mall has power ... the Beale Building is down ..." Laitaine 17:34, 13 July 2008 (BST)

Oh man. They're returning. --Dr Frank 16:51, 14 July 2008 (BST)

July 9th

Tons of PKers running around I personally have been killed and revived twice due to the pker activity. --Avatar Aang 00:48, 9 July 2008 (BST)

July 5th

As if the return of zombies isn't bad enough, a group of terrorists called The Dulston Veterans Squad, led by Meowdam, attacked the Whitlock Building as a declaration of war to W.I.Z.A.R.D. and all bounty hunters. Claiming to "Free Dulston", they had killed 17 people, destroyed the building's generator and radio transmitter, before dispersing into the nearby area. The group is now declared to be the enemy of the Dulston Alliance and to the survivors'cause, and to be killed on sight. -- Kittithaj (recorded on 6 July 2008)

Dulston has always been full of PKers, but this new group (of both characters and apparent zergers) brings a disturbing degree of organization. I'm now on my way back from a Rotters Revive clinic; we'll see how things look. Mikeage 21:17, 7 July 2008 (BST)

July 4th

25.96 MHz: "... reporting from Dulston, I've got twenty or so active ... mostly just stragglers, no organised groups ... power's on across most of the area ... infrastructure looks intact too ... power's on at the Beale Building ..."

They're back... -- Kittithaj 16:12, 4 July 2008 (BST)

Power's out in Whitlock. --Dr Frank 17:10, 4 July 2008 (BST)

Things to do while in Dulston

  • Shop 'Til You Drop! - Looking for that special something that might help keep you alive? Then why not drop by Treweeke Mall; where prices are so low we're practically giving everything away! So shop around or just hang out for a few days. Is there a limit to how long you can roam our halls and shops? Nope. Stay around long enough and become official "mall rats"! We really couldn't care less. Or more! But be sure to always remember, whatever you need you'll be sure to find it here, at the mall.
  • Stay Current With Current Events! - Visit the Naisbitt Building, official printing house of the Dulston Dispatch, Dulston's first and only newspaper! Inside you'll find amazing things such as, but not limited to: Stacks upon stacks of blank paper, drums full of ink, and an industrial size printing machine! Great fun for most of the family. Issues are printed out weekly and sell at the reasonable price of free!
  • A Funny/Religious/Cult Experience! - Pilgrimage to Troubridge Cinema in order to gain wisdom from the Night of the Living Dead (now playing) and then travel to St. Barbara's Church to seek enlightenment from the Survivor Saints. Recently refurbished by DvB and Ragnarok members, with the addition of RvB movies. Have some oreos and imitation 7-UP!
  • Games, Alcohol, & Good Times! - Survivors are invited by the survivor group, Dead vs Blue, to stop by Downe Towers so they can join in on some Halo/Halo 2/Halo 3, drink some beers, and debate about which pistol you prefer to use against the proverbial "Flood" (i.e. zombies).
  • Learn How to Drive! - Forgot how to drive? Think driving would be an amazing way for getting around zombie-infested Malton? Course you do! So come on down to Crazy Ed's Driving School and learn how to drive... possibly.
  • NOT Haunted, So Read a Book! - Come visit the very cheerful Caffin Library and be sure to stay the night. Rumors of survivors being found horribly mutilated are exaggerated, because seriously, what kind of survivor doesn't get horribly mutilated at least once while in Malton? You'll be fine. Relax.
  • Enjoy Grea- err, "Edible" Food! - McZeds' Dulston branch is located at the old Nott Auto Repair building, which is conveniently found at [98,3].
  • Eat the Homeless! - Dulston is famous Malton-wide for its street people! Whether they sleep outside by choice or by circumstance, there are almost always a few (dozen!) hobos squatting on Dulston's sidewalks, silently beseeching passersby for a spare heal or two. Sure, they're a bit smelly... but a brain's a brain... gnam gnam...
