Basic Info:

  • Office buildings owned by the company often associated with the zombie outbreak. From the outside, they are indistinguishable from other buildings, but characters with the NecroTech Employment skill are able to recognise them.
  • Among the internal descriptions found in NecroTech Buildings:
The NecroTech logo is set in the wall behind the front desk, and doors open onto powered-down computer rooms and laboratories."
  • If a generator is running inside the building:
"The NecroTech logo glows gently above the front desk, and doors open onto a number of brightly-lit laboratories and computer rooms."
  • NecroTech offices are tall enough for survivors to commit suicide from. They also provide a vantage point from which binoculars can be used.
  • Necrotech Buildings can be barricaded normally.

Description

Necrotech

The Colglough Building is a NecroTech facility located in the suburb of Whittenside. Though a faceless corporate structure to the uninitiated, this facility was once the heart of R&D for NecroTech within the suburb. This facility is one of three NecroTech facilities to be found in the suburb, but its central location and proximity to Fort Perryn makes it valuable to survivors within the suburb. For the same reason, its proximity to Fort Feral makes it a prime target for the ever-present zombie population, particularly the Feral Undead.

History

The exact origin of its name was lost with most of its other records during the early outbreaks, but theories circulate as to the exixtance of one Reginald Colglough, an early pioneer in the field of cellular regeneration and a noted Philanthropist. Following the outbreak, this Necrotech facility, with the aid of its satellite facility the Hurst Building in the south, serviced the greater Whittenside area’s revivification needs, while the Malcolm Building in the north focused primarily on Fort Perryn personnel.

The Whittenside Medical Corps and British Military Corps were the first survivor groups to use the Colglough Building as a main base of operations. Recognizing the value of central Whittenside to the support of Fort Perryn, they occupied Colglough and its sister building, Anne General Hospital. With the arrival of the Feral Undead in Spring of 2006, the building and surrounding area became hotly contested - a state that continues to this day.

Though often in ruin, this building was repaired for several months in early 2010 during a survivor surge in Whittenside. The building then served as a supply stop for NT equipment, a showroom displaying a prodigious collection of area art, and a meeting spot for local survivors. Even then, Feral Undead members could sometimes be seen inside conversing with or snarling at those in residence. During this period, this building was the birthplace of a group called The D.S. R&D who provided Necrotech services in the greater Whittenside area and kept the building in good working order. They also installed a production floor for several in house product lines and a bar. Though some of the larger pieces of equipment remain more or less intact, the majority have been destroyed or sealed for remote access through Malton’s subterranean pneumatic tube system.

After the Feral Undead Spring Picnic of 2010, Colglough became hotly contested by local zombies (including several key members of the Feral Undead and Undeadites), Local survivors (including the D. S. R&D, The Fort Perryn Defense Force, and The Big Prick), and the PKer Group The Heathers. The conflict that started here spread to include the bounty hunting groups The Illuminati,Team Xtreme, and The Fallen Saints and was eventually awarded a Malton Murder Award.

Barricade Policy (Survivor)

This building should be Extremely Heavily barricaded at all times. This is in accordance with the mutually agreed-upon plan set forth in the Whittenside Barricade Plan, who routinely work together to monitor that the barricades for this building are at the aforementioned level. This building is meant to serve as a safehouse for Malton's veteran survivors.

Barricade Policy (Zombie)

This building should be kept un-barricaded and ruined at all times. This building is meant to serve as a buffet, serving Malton's veteran survivors who decide to occupy it.

NecroNet Reports

Zombie tracking reports are a free service provided by the NecroTech corporation to all its staff and local survivors in order to help facilitate quicker response times when managing zombie threats and to build a greater awareness of zombie migration patterns within the 9x9 block region around the Colglough Building. As a cautious reminder, only those zombies tagged with the DNA Extractor will appear on these scans, so actual numbers may vary when dealing with older zombies (i.e. Brain Rot).

August

August 16th

A lone survivor working with the aid of 2 life-culting zombies repaired the building three times in slightly over a week to practice trans-mortal building reclamation techniques. The resident zombies of the FU were very obliging and attempted to compensate for the process and defend the building providing further data for future experimentation. --Albert Schwan Albert Schwan  23:08, Tuesday 16 August 2011

March

March 20 th Nice and quiet and dead. A harman came by a week ago or so and tried to play with the lights, but he got set straight in a hurry. Zombiedalkorian chewed on his ear a bit and some other Ferals came by and ate the rest. Zombiegeorge 03:18, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

March 06 th Another lazy Sunday at Colglough. The sun peaks through the holes in the ceiling, warming the moldy cheap office carpet in the upper offices. A family of rats hop about playfully in the remains of an NT lab, pausing only to the gnaw of the bones of long dead NT technicians. A zombie stirs from its napping place and lurches through the lobby to see what the day will bring. Possibly breakfast? Zombiegeorge 14:23, 6 March 2011 (UTC)

February 27 th

The building has been repaired, powered, extremely heavily barricaded, and piñataed by the D.S. R&D. All zombies inside have been CRed and removed to finish revivifying outside. All vine gardens have been uprooted and the remnants of the lab equipment and other furniture have been arranged in accordance with proper Feng Shui principles. The building now stands powered and inaccessible.

--Albert Schwan Albert Schwan  04:41, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

The building has been unrepaired, de-powered, extremely heavily ruined by the Feral Undead. All harmanz inside are dead or have fled.
All vine gardens have been replanted and the remnants of the lab equipment and other furniture have been tossed in the bin. We've ordered new stuff that's not made from veneered particle board. The building now stands unpowered and spattered with harman guts.
Zombiegeorge 16:57, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
It is worth noting that the building was neither ruined gloriously by zombies nor was anyone killed. The barricades of the piñata were removed, the generator was destroyed, and the graffiti was obscured, but the only person in residence at the time was waiting inside as a zombie. The only addition of gore then was of that typically excreted by zombies and used to obscure spray paint. This has therefore been probably the most peacefully active exchange in recent Colglough history with the building changing hands twice, 19 levels of barricade set and removed, a generator installed and removed, 5 total revives performed, a piñata made and destroyed, roughly 12 hours of reclaiming effort on the part of the zombies, an NT scan updataed, and the only deaths being those caused by infection and suffered intentionally on both sides: all done in the name of furniture choice and disagreement as to the proper placement of vines in the vine garden. A thing of beauty, consuming resources and time and demonstrating the fine artistry of futility.

We decorated the place by making decorative candle sconces from the skull caps of leftover foodz. It a gragh! thing Zombiegeorge 15:32, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

The rotting continues apace. Most foodz, quite sensibly, shun this place for it is the house of death. Zombiegeorge

January

January 29, 2011

The living dead return to Colglough after two days of harman occupation. As Schwan has predicted, many of the the harmanz have declared victory and fled , while other stayed on to feed the zombies with their tiny harman bra!nz.

Once again, Colglough is in picturesque ruin, and I've already replanted my vine and fungi garden. Zombiegeorge 14:04, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

3 days actually according to the scans and logs but who is counting?

You? (rolls eye sockets) BTW, when are you going to take your group off the 'burb's wiki? It's not like you have spent much time here in the last year or so. . . Zombiegeorge 17:13, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

January 26th

The building has been repaired as part of a suburb reset by allied survivors. Resident zombies have been summarily kicked to the curb and brood outside while plotting against the nice new generator. Redecoration is underway and stockpiles of secured inventory have been uncovered, cleaned, and distributed. Survivors hold the NT and plan to continue to do so until their mission is accomplished, whereupon they will vacate, allowing local zombies to reenter the then empty building and claim “unparalleled victory” for zombie kind.

--Albert Schwan Albert Schwan  22:28, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

January 02, 2011 Colglough continues in ruin and decay, marred only by occasional confused harman staggering into the dilapidated former NT building to meet their death. Foodz are dumb. Zombiegeorge 19:06, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

December

December 19, 2010 Colglough now houses the Harman Behavior Research Workshop, or Gragh! (spelling is not a zombie strong suit), for short. Our top zombie scientists are busily staggering around the lab day and night (we don't need sleep). The harmanz have apparently dispensed with the behavior of saying "It'sNotTheHeatButTheHumidity" and are now gathering in slow moving lines at electronics stores around Malton, arms laden with junk that beeps. Stupid harmanz. Zombiegeorge 15:21, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

December 09, 2010 The fine dining at ZombieGeorge's Club House continues to gain fame, rolling out our Winter Menu with the slogan "At Colglough, the food plays with you!" Earlier today, the food tried what looked like a reverse parachute scam, which ended as it always must, in deliciousness. Zombiegeorge 01:40, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

November

November 21, 2010 The tug of war between the brave, self-sacrificing and heroic forces of the walking dead and their harman opponents continues. The Feral Undead's continued efforts as the vanguard of undead defenses will long be remembered. Zombiegeorge 16:25, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

November 16, 2010 The FPDF and allies embarked on a suicide mission to recaptured Colglough NT. Taking it back from Feral Undead's hands at midnight (GMT) for around 7 hours. while the defenders knew they wouldnt last the night, it was a mission that showed the valor and courage of the FPDF, D.S. R&D and /Zom/ members. These acts of Bravery that could inspire a turn of events. PvtStanley 11:00, 16 November 2010 (GMT)

October

October 17, 2010 The Feral Undead continue to use Colglough as their clubhouse. ZombieGeorge occasionally leaves for a stroll around the suburb to get some fetid air before returning to the former NT building to tend his garden of severed heads. Zombiegeorge 18:04, 17 October 2010 (BST)
