20080604 Barricades Help Search Rates
Catcher In The Rye 05:13, 4 June 2008 (BST)
Suggestion type
Help search rates
Suggestion scope
Humans
Suggestion description
Well, it's as simple as this. Since the recent update, zombies are getting more and more help, and you'd think that Kevan would at least give humans a little bit more of a chance to fight back. Basically, all this means is that the higher the barricade level in the building, the search rates for items would be slightly increased. Not a lot, just a percentage or two. I think that personally it would make sense, considering that as you barricade, you move large items toward openings in the building, so you're basically clearing out some of the clutter to place it in a specific part of a building. That would, realistically, make it at least a little easier to find items in the building.--Catcher In The Rye 05:13, 4 June 2008 (BST)

Keep Votes
- Keep - I like it. You can author vote, by the way. (Once again, the potentially fallacious 60:40 ratio argument is used to justify votes. On average: it's always been 60:40. I think that it's simply the case that, in the population playing the game, 60% prefer to play as survivors, whatever the game mechanics are. My supposition makes as much sense as someone, without any further evidence, saying it's because there's a gameplay imbalance. Someone should carry out a survey: see what the truth of the matter is.) --Funt Solo QT 10:17, 4 June 2008 (BST)
- Keep - Helps PKers. --Sir Bob Fortune RR 13:20, 4 June 2008 (BST)
Kill Votes
- kill Survivors will just eventually learn to work together, like zombies have now. Padfu-Zomfu 12:17, 4 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill - Barricading off the entryways with large objects also reduces the amount of outside light coming into the building, which hinders search rates. Not to mention in the haste of cading in the middle of a zombie attack, you are likely to knock over other objects and make the building more disorganized. I think in the end they just balance each other and have no effect on the search rates as you claim. --Aeon17x 05:20, 4 June 2008 (BST)
- Incomplete. Not a lot, just a percentage or two. Be specific. Also, given the nature of the description, couldn't it be argued that no barricades makes searching harder?--Pesatyel 07:37, 4 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill - Human/zombie ratio is ~ 70/30 and you want MORE survivor buffs? Kevan will tweak search rates in the survivors favor when the ratio is flipped, like back in march. --#19 - DrPain TMG 08:25, 4 June 2008 (BST)
- kill - whining about zombies getting more and more help does nothing for your suggesting --Scotw 09:19, 4 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill - So grabbing items randomly and hurling them against the door haphazardly makes it easier to find things? --– Nubis NWO 12:19, 4 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill - Rewarding survivors for higher barricades will only encourage them to keep TRP barricades too high for new players (without freerunning) to get in to -- boxy talk • i 15:25 4 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill - Survivors are doing just fine and don't need more stuff.--Jiangyingzi 18:09, 4 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill - Survivors don't need any more help. --ZsL 22:36, 4 June 2008 (BST)
Spam/Dupe Votes
- Spam - Search rates are already absurd, and the game isnt unbalanced against survivors. If anything, the zombies have it harder, and are only staving off total collapse with lots of metagaming. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 05:20, 4 June 2008 (BST)
- Spam and Eggs as Grim and DrPain. -- LABIA on the INTERNET Dunell Hills Corpseman #24 - |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| TMG 08:44, 4 June 2008 (BST)
- Spam - As Grim. Also, breathers are at 64%. Just HOW MUCH FUCKING HELP DO YOU NEED? --The Hierophant 09:02, 4 June 2008 (BST)
- Spam - Incomplete, very unrealistic and survivors do not need a buff. --Explodey 09:30, 4 June 2008 (BST)
- Spam - Unnecessary. And now, I'm now going to proceed to suggest exactly the opposite. ~Ariedartin • Talk • A KS J abt all 11:25, 4 June 2008 (BST)

- Spam - Just because you can't see how good you in fact have it doesn't mean you don't have it good. Barricades are absurd, they don't need buffing and actually need a lot of weakening if the game is ever going to be balanced and fun for zombie players, the numbers support this, play experience supports this, and game history supports this.--Karekmaps?! 13:16, 4 June 2008 (BST)
- Spam - Merits a mark as spam because it stands completely opposed to common sense. Taking chairs, tables, etc, and shoving them into huge, messy piles to block off windows and doors would in fact make it harder to find things rather than easier. I could see myself supporting proposals to that effect, and this ... is just ridiculous. --Pgunn 15:29, 4 June 2008 (BST)
- Spam - Yes, we need more reasons to overbarricade. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 15:53, 4 June 2008 (BST)
- Spam - Survivors have it easy enough already. -- - Crypto LOL 17:31, 4 June 2008 (BST)
- Spam - I'll use the Goons' favourite misused word -- "reactionary" -- to describe this. It's a reactionary demand for something ridiculous that we don't need. Not one iota. Survivors are 2/3 of the population for chrissake, gimme a break. And Malls rawk for searching. And ohter TRPs are just fine. Again, gimme a break. --WanYao 17:34, 4 June 2008 (BST)
- Spam - As above, but mostly as Crypto and WanYao. Billy Club Thorton T! RR 19:44, 4 June 2008 (BST)
