It makes sense that, within the scope of a zombie apocalypse, you should be able to hide;
as such, I would like to suggest a survivor skill: Hide.
Purchasing the skill adds a new button to the standard options, next to barricading: hiding. For 5 AP, you can hide yourself behind an object of some sort. This renders you normally invisible to targets; however, a simple search of the room will detect you, and zombies can use Scent Fear to detect you, as well; the chance of you being detected is %30 plus %1 for the level advantage the one attempting to detect you has over you (So a level 20 hiding against a level 40 has a %50 chance to be caught per search or Scent Fear).
