The Manifesto- An open Letter to the so-called Department of Emergency Management - We are the silent majority. We are those groups that have no superiority in numbers, no reinforcements, no armies at our backs. We are those who earn our keep each day at the same barricades, earn our bread at the local cemetery, earn our self-respect through our actions. We are those who have been broken. Broken by the feet of those who walk over us without noticing. Broken by the careless deeds of those who care nothing for our customs, but rather for uniformity. Broken by those who have broken their promises to serve and protect. Broken by those who wish to impose their laws upon us. We are our own people. We live by our own codes, our own rules, our own decisions. We work tirelessly to keep the barricades up inside the same ten buildings we've lived in for the past years. We don't ask for many favors from others. We don't complain when the going gets tough, the zombies get stronger, and there's nobody to revive you at the cemetery. We keep our noses to the grindstone, our feet planted on the ground, and our heads down. We are the foundation of the city's infrastructure. We are the groups which make up the building blocks of this city. We are the stationary, blue-collar, dime-a-dozen groups which make safe movement from one suburb to another a possibility. We are the common salt of the city, those boring, immobile working stiffs that you take for granted. We are the groups you don't give a second thought to. We are the groups who are worthy of your respect. And we are so, so tired. We are tired of your arrogance, your smug attitude, your self-importance. We are tired of your attempts to govern us, to mold us to your liking, to control us. We are tired of your careless treatment of our friends and ourselves. We are so, so tired. And we are very, very Angry. We are here, unveiled, unmasked, unshrouded and unafraid. We stand before you, a motley crew, an undisciplined band of the most unlikely allies. We are PKers, Pro-Survivors; Malcontents. And we are many. So very, very many. We are here to make the only demands we will make upon you as long as this coalition exists. Should it come to pass that you do not heed the above demands, do not reform your organization, do not leave our territories, we will respond with untempered force. Should it come to pass that you ignore us one more time, the camel's back will break and there will be no more requests, no more friendships, no more peace, and no mercy. There will be war. There will be brutality. There will be death, destruction, and deeds indescribable. Your weak will fall on the bodies of your strong, and every last member of your organization will be put down. It will not be fun. It will not be worth it. And it will not end well for you.
ADDENDUM:Further Terms: 1) Only one alt in the DEM. You are not an alliance -- stop pretending to be. When the largest group in the game endorses a 3-alt policy, it sets a bad example -- look at Extinction. You have yourselves to blame for opening that door; close it. 2) Dismantling of the auto-scout portion of DEMON. Disable IMP. A manually updated map is fine; auto-updates are not. 3) No more city-wide jurisdiction and operation. -Stop relying on the RG. When you're on another group's turf, pay attention to local blacklists. -Pay attention to local situations. -Recognize local group sovereignty. Learn about the place you're ostensibly helping. -Have a real presence in the places you're working; cease leeching off of local groups with your "teams" of 3 people or less. -Stop claiming to be in places you aren't.
NOTICE:The Terms of the above letter are not open for discussion, negotiation, change, or compromise. The Department of Emergency Management has exactly 24 hours to comply with all the above terms without exception. As of this announcement, the following suburbs are off-limits to DEM personnel: Crowbank, Dulston, East Boundwood, East Grayside, Gibsonton, Gulsonside, Havercroft, Lamport Hills, North Blythville, Penny Heights, Pescodside, Pitneybank, Rhodenbank, Roftwood, Rolt Heights, South Blythville, Vinetown, and Yagoton. Evacuation of DEM personnel from these suburbs is compulsory. Failure to comply within a period of 24 hours of this announcement will result in consequences and physical ejection from the premises. Call to ArmsAn invitation to all of Malton. These grievances are nothing new. They've been legitimate concerns for some time. As this time passes, it has become painfully clear that the DEM has no interest in serious discussion, or alleviation of these problems. Their leadership is rash and openly hostile to anyone that tries to reach a resolution through the Brainstock forum. Talking and pleading with them has gone nowhere. It is time for a different approach. Let the people of Malton show the DEM that these issues need to be addressed. Make vocal your support of the Uprising, of your belief in the need for change. That's what this movement is all about. An attention getter. A catalyst for change. We welcome any individuals and groups in Malton to join us; we only require that each player use only one character in this fight. The Map of Liberation
