This policy (which wouldn't work because of the wiki groups we have atm) would be better suited to people like Thad. He got fairly even support and fits a good amount of the criteria. You should work towards that, instead of asking for trial periods. Besides which, a promotion of the nature you specify isn't even ''technically'' possible, since when they promote people, you get everything that the rank can do, not just some parts of it. | :You see, your problem is that you don't understand politics. Asking to be a sysop is like proposing to be wed. The more you do it, the less people will want to give it to you. Forget the whole concept of you being sysop. Unless someone asks you about it, don't even mention it until someone eventually nominates you. That way, you won't let your own hubris ruin your chances like it is. Focus solely on improving the wiki like any other common person. You know how, and you've clearly been doing this, but what you've done so far just isn't enough. You need to flood the wiki with examples of your devotion to it. Force everyone to see how helpful you are, give helpful opinions even on topics that don't concern you, and make some friends.
