Talk:Player Killer
A complaint
I know there might be better places to mention this, but I can't find any. I was charged of PKing. While my character did kill, I have a reason. My target was this guy. His username should explain my actions. I feel it unfair that I was killed without a chance to explain myself. To the citizens of South Blythville, this was a one-time thing. Please do not further punish me for PKing someone whose username was chosen simply to antagonize the community. --volt 02:38, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- PK hunting is a completely third party thing, usually done through Brainstock or Ressensitized. It might be better to go to one of those two forums as I am not quite sure many people actually read this page.--Karekmaps?! 03:07, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Untitled
I've been attacked a few times by what appeared to be survivors speaking in zombie-talk. Up until today, I've assumed these people were just role-playing. However, today, I discovered one of my characters was apparently DNA-scanned and revived by a zombie.
A zombie extracted a DNA sample from you. (10-30 09:30 GMT) A zombie revivified you with a NecroTech syringe. (10-30 09:30 GMT)
And I know that that's not possible. It would seem that a survivor revived my character, then perished, then stood up as a zombie, all while I was logged out.
So, now I'm of the belief that those "Since your last turn" messages display either the names of players or "A zombie" depending on their state at the moment you logged in, not their state at the moment their action occurred.
If this is true, then it might also be that some people whom I thought had been PKing might actually have been undead when they attacked me, and then revived before I logged in again. And of course a zombie attacking a human is not a PKer.
So, is it confirmed officially somewhere that this is the way that the "Since your last turn" messages work? And, if so, wouldn't that lead to some confusion about who is actually PKing and who is not?
I know that I would hate for my character's name to end up on a PK list if they had just been legitimately doing their thing as a zombie, but were revived before one of their zombie-time victims ever logged in again.
- The "since your last turn" messages do display the current state of attackers/ healers/ whatever; this is a known bug. Hopefully it will be fixed in the future; until then I guesss we'll just have to deal.--SA-TA-EK-Rumisiel 04:09, 31 Oct 2005 (GMT)
- That's good to know; thanks. --Natalya Zveda 03:27, 1 Nov 2005 (GMT)
Blue Emu 'forcibly removed'
I've spoken to Emu since the new CoL took over running the PK list, and he not only doesn't care, but wishes Katthew luck running the thing. The tenor of the current article suggests otherwise. -Magpie 15:53, 5 Dec 2005 (GMT)
Both reports are reasonably accurate. I was forcibly removed in the sense that I logged on one day and learned that I was no longer in charge of the PK-reporting and Bounty list... but your impression is also accurate: I'm not all bent out of shape about it, and I wish Katthew luck in running the Bounty List. As long as it's done fairly and impartially, it doesn't matter who actually runs it. - Blue Emu
- You had been going absent for ages at a time, and I think at that point you hadn't logged on in ages. We were, in a sense, a bit worried. Not having a singular list for these things results in hundreds of little personal lists with strange and weird rules for each one, with people added on for being "zombie spies" and other ridiculous "crimes" of that nature. We would have contacted you, but you'd been gone for ages and we didn't know when you'd be back. So we just kinda went ahead with it and hoped you wouldn't go apocalyptic. I must say, you've been awfully cool about the whole deal, and running this list is a fair bit more difficult than I'd thought it would be. Kudos for doing what you did for so long.
- Oh, and Magpie, I've edited the page already to be more... shall we say... "the truth". I've also added in a link to the two threads on the forum, which were conspicuous in their absence. --Katthew 04:03, 16 Dec 2005 (GMT)
Hiding in Crowds
One thing I've noticed is that it's slightly easier to hide in crowds of 50+ now, because of the whole 'list names' thing. Not much easier, granted, but it means people have to actively check the names rather than just have UDTool highlight them without any effort. A bonus for those trying to hide? Or perhaps not, since with 50+ people you're more likely to have someone checking the names who has UDTool? What do you guys think? --Daxx 11:54, 21 Dec 2005 (GMT)

Desensitized PK-List
So what is going to happen to the list since aparrently the fourms are gone? --Technerd 17:16, 27 May 2006 (BST)
- Well, we're still here and not planning on going anywhere! ;) However, if you like TBM's list from Desensitised better as a primary reference, he has updated the link in the main article to the new home for that list. --Gilant talk|DEM

Want to talk about Pking/Mass Murder?
I'm running a tiny conversation about it @ the Talk section of the Second Massacre of Yagoton section. Feel free to check it out! --MorthBabid 17:52, 21 September 2006 (BST)

Sirens Discord has PKed far more of you so-called "survivors" than she's given credit for. She's probably gotten more than you. Get your rears in gear, people. |

Player Killer
A human named PerpetuallyDead killed me while I was human.
PK'd
I got pked by someone named Roy Banes...just thought I should post it here so people are notified. He even said he missed out on the attack with the rest of the PKA but was making up fo it. Then he proceeded to shoot me repeatedly...until I died.
Here's the screenshot- well, I can't figure out how to get it to upload-but I have the screenshot, if anyone can tell me how to upload a screenshot.

I need answers
I am in dire need of answers. Project MudFall. Do you know of it. They have threatened us (on our forums) with racism comments, their website is german porn, they have destroyed our base, even the graphitti. They have PKed everyone. I do not believe this to be IC behaviour, I also do not know where else to post this so it is going here. --Warlord zephyr 19:40, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
To be perfectly honest, I have never understood why player on player violence is allowed in this game. This is a perfect example of what happens when you allow a tool for unrestricted griefing to stay in a game. And I don't believe what this article says about PKing being an "ethical right" and "a vibrant part of any post-apocalypse". It just makes players lives a little harder and detracts from the overall fun of the game. It personally feel that this would be a far better game with player on player violence removed. Or at least harsh in game penalties, such as the inability to be revived after ten player kills. --Caleb Whiteside 09:31, 12 June 2009 (CST)
Monroeville
I feel like a PKing in Malton is justifiable, and adds an interesting element to the game. I don't do it myself, but I can see a PKer's point. That being said, however, I think that PKing in monroeville is about the worst thing you can do. A survivor in monroeville only has one chance. If another survivor circumvents barricades and kills players, they are taking away their only chance there. It has been argued that it is "realistic" for a person to murder another person in that chaotic situation, but it does not stand up when you point out that someone with a pistol can't fight back against an axe-weilding murderer because he is "logged out". In-game, the sound of gunfire and or screams/zombie howls does not wake up (log-in) the other people in the room, as it would in real life, or even in a Romero-esque reality where zombies exist. Monroeville PKers are assholes.--RayCross 17:06, 29 April 2008 (BST)
- Yes, but in reality people don't take 10-15 pistol shots or 17-20 axe chops to kill them either...--drawde DORIS Red Rum Defend Ridleybonk! I know Nothing! 23:10, 7 August 2008 (BST)
Player Killer Group Template
Hi all. I couldn't seem to find a template for groups that PKed, so I thought I'd make a copy of the current one, change the wording slightly, and stick it under the current one. hope you like it, and if you don't, well just get rid of it then.
here it is:

Wiki List?
Hey guys, since this is such a sensitive topic, why don't we, for the safety of the community, make a small list right here? Brainstock is not currently accepting new members, FYI. I'll start with Mr Bleak and SamRaami, as I believe they are working in cohorts. My long-time survivor account was just PK'd in Sillence Walk PD, (SWPD on the Wiki) and I'm a little angry. It takes quite a bit to make me angry. So-- if you have recently PK'd or been PK'd, then just for the sake of the community, how abouts you tell us? Kill Zeds, not heads. Malde37 13:56, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
- Brainstock stopped to host the Rogues Gallery a year ago. It is now it's own thing: http://rg.urbandead.net/ Registration should be open again, I think. -- Spiderzed█ 15:24, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
- An extensive list would be too long, too controversial, and not as useful as lists that already exist. But we could list something like the ten people with the highest bounty on the Rouge's Gallery. --VVV RPMBG 23:55, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
- Not all great PKers have bounty counts. If anything, we could have a list listing perhaps the top ten most prolific PKers. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 01:18, 5 November 2011 (UTC)

most prolific |
- I agree that if that were possible, it would be optimal. But most prolific would be impossible to define. By using an already created (and respected) list, we could sidestep the mass polls/angry debates required to choose the most prolific. Which isn't to say we should include any list at all. --VVV RPMBG 05:35, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
