Lukinswood is a suburb of Malton, located in the west of the city. In proximity to one of Malton's western most malls, Ackland in Havercroft, Lukinswood is not for those used to the abundance and safety of the forts, mansions, and malls to the east. Lukinswood only has one NechroTech building, one hospital, and two police departments located in the extreme east and west of the suburb.

Lukinswood is clearly divided into two separate regions; The West and The East, with only The Shortman Building dividing the two. The landscape of these two regions are quite distinct.

The West

Visitors to Lukinswood may notice that buildings in the western half of the suburb are older, more modest and more clustered. Many industrial buildings and pubs can be found on this side of town, also known as Old Lukinswood. Of note is The Mester Arms, home to Malton's only cannabis coffeeshop. The Western district is also home to two public schools, two libraries and three museums. The skyline is demurely accented by the silhouettes of Cunningham and Ackerman Towers.

The East

The Eastern region of Lukinswood was developed more recently, soon after construction of Ackland Mall in Havercroft was completed. The lavish buildings and meticulously sculpted parks here were designed to cater to upper class Maltonians and tourists to the city. From Ackland Mall, one could board a train to Bennet Row Railway Station and stroll down to Latham Cinema Film Center and Cafe', relax at the spa and resort at Kenward Towers, mingle with the rich and famous at Club Hill or enjoy a fine cigar from the humidors at the The Huttenbach Arms. After the breakout, survivors cared little for such extravagance and many retreated to the relative safety of the more defensible West.

Of Other Importance

The newest additions to the suburb are in the far Northeast. Construction on St. Elisabeth's Hospital and Withyman Street Police Department began in 2003 just to the east of beautiful Collin's Park. Construction on St. Elisabeth's was completed in late 2004 but unfortunately the doors to the police department were never opened due to the outbreak. While cut off from the rest of the suburb by the overgrown parks to the west and open avenues to the south, these buildings still serve as valuable outposts for struggling survivors; and targets for hungry zombies.

On July 3, 2009, the Emergency Broadcast System was found inside a side room in The Coram Building. This discovery increased the importance of Lukinswood a bit. The EBS presence has initiated the group CORAM, dedicating their lives to protect the EBS from undead amateur DJs and garnering some increased knowledge of the noble EBS in the very same community in the process.

December 12th

All resources and entry points are being maintained...few break-ins. Lukinswood hasn't received an EMR in nearly 2 months. The last NecroWatch report 2 weeks ago states around a dozen within the scan area. Could probably be considered "safe". Needs a bit more scouting first. --Vapor
