West Grayside is a suburb located in south-central Malton.

West Grayside was Malton's number one entertainment and cultural hotspot and a major commercial hub before the outbreak. The suburb is home to Pole Mall, the innovative Hitoshi Abe-designed Clapton Stadium, as well as numerous fashionable clubs and pubs, and several popular cinemas. Whether it was hipsters or hip hop kids, football fans or Miskatonic student-intellectuals, postcard punks or upscale fashionistas, all kinds could be seen vying for the spotlight in the suburb's sidewalk cafes, pubs, clubs and trendy boutiques.

Darker times have fallen upon the neighborhood since the outbreak, however, and life has simplified somewhat -- with the major fashion statements competing against each other now being trenchcoats, tensor bandages and neural decomposition.

There are two radio stations serving West Grayside: 26.19 MHz is the frequency for the SE-4 district, which includes West and East Grayside, Kempsterbank and Wyke Hills; and 26.82 Mhz is dedicated station for Pole Mall.

The zombie group De-vivification Experts of Malton claim responsibility for taking over Pole Mall and Clapton Stadium. This group has apparently spread south and most of the western half West Grayside is now in ruins. As the eastern half also remains largely in ruins, this neighborhood now warrants the status of VeryDanger. --ZaqWer 16:07, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

November 13

Pole Mall appears to have been attacked by a separate large faction of zombies numbering over 50. At this time, two sectors of Pole Mall are Open and it will likely fall. The eastern half of West Grayside appears to still have the same hostile force, so this represents a doubling of hostile zombies in the last 24 hours. --ZaqWer 15:37, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Egbert is lost again, but myself and 2 others made it out and hope to work on a plan for retaking it and that sector of West Grayside soon. Rylan Masters 22:25, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

November 12

Although there are many ruined buildings, more than half of buildings in this suburb are barricaded. Revive queues are long, mostly 20 - 30. Survivors might consider moving to another neighborhood for faster service. Total zombie count may appear high due to the revive queues, but actual hostile zombies appears to be only around 50. As of now, Copeland NT is up and running and EHB with minimal threat. The majority of zombies are in the SE sector. Reducing threat level from VeryDanger to Danger to more accurately reflect this situation. --ZaqWer 16:02, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I was surprised to see that we got Copeland powered. Toplef and Dampney are repaired and caded to VHB, but has a strong lack of survivor presence. We might need to get some meatshields. Overall, I can say things are looking good for survivors, they haven't even touched Pole Mall yet. Apocalyptic doom 22:25, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Egbert was retaken but currently has very little survivor activity. I'm hoping to see more shortly. Rylan Masters 03:23, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

November 10

Topleaf Building reclaimed, Copeland ruined, zombie presence very high, no zed packs larger than 6, plenty of zombies at revive points --Jonas Krosse 10 November 2008

Egbert Hospital has been broken into, 11 zeds. We can forget about them too, those medics are vital if we want to get the suburb back. As a matter of fact I think Egbert should be a focal point, besides keeping Topleaf up. We can work our way from there. Apocalyptic doom 20:11, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

November 8

Egbert general hospital retaken, but the Topleaf Building and two nearby fires tations are ransacked. --Sigma 7 17:44, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

Egbert General Hospital has fallen, any survivors has fled or been killed. Building has been ruined, so anyone waiting at the RP one block north might want to seek a new RP or prepare to wait.--Nasuren 01:50, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

September 21st

Approximately 6 zombies in the suburb (outdoors), and no ruined Tactical Resource Points. Most of the suburb is powered, and of the 17 TRPs, only 4 Auto Repairs are without power (which isn't that important, as the other 4 have power). I'm altering the danger level (from Very Dangerous to Safe) to reflect the reality on the ground. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 22:15, 21 September 2008 (BST)

Just came back from Kempsterbank, zed numbers are worrying there, So headed back to W.Grayside.Seems there are still a number of undead in the area of Pole mall, but considered the Horrific numbers when MOB was here, its quite in control.Just to end this update, Pole Mall is back in business.--Mousey666

September 16th

Tonight, the Militant Order of Barhah ruined the Topleaf Building NT, Dampney Grove Police Department, the Copeland Building NT, Marchia Auto Repair, and then was seen exiting the suburb towards Julie General Hospital, in Kempsterbank. Hopefully this suburb has seen the last of MOB for a while.--FLZombie 04:37, 16 September 2008 (BST)

September 15th

Finding nothing but ruins and mostly-empty buildings, The Militant Order of Barhah slowly shambles away from West Grayside, burping. -- Grogh 23:00, 15 September 2008 (BST)

September 13th

Pole Mall has just been retaken by zombies from MOB and friendly ferals. The area is crawling with zombies at this time. It is unsafe for the casual interloper as well, as they are frequently checking for survivor activity. MOB has apparently decided to stay a while in West Grayside, given the abundance of survivors in the area and the sheer tenacity that they have displayed in recapturing key structures - despite which long revival queues are beginning to be seen in some of their RPs. The suburb is appropriately classified as very dangerous. For all combat-hardened zombie hunters as well as hungry zombie zealots alike, this suburb offers much activity. Others should steer clear of the area, as fierce fighting is still raging everywhere. Rumor has it that zombies are baiting survivors into recapturing structures that they later take and ruin with all souls inside converted to Barhah. What was looking initially like a raid through this town has turned into a gore fest that may take a while in petering out.--FLZombie 22:17, 13 September 2008 (BST)

September 11th

The unpredictable nature of ravenous zombies is the only certain thing in West Grayside. As has been reported several times before, the situation continues to be quite fluid on the ground. Additional structures in the southeast of the suburb have been ruined, including Creedy Way Police Dept, the Bailie Arms, Bythesea Auto Repair, and Gaywood Auto Repair were attacked. No survivors are left inside.--FLZombie 04:21, 12 September 2008 (BST)

September 10th

External Military report (25.96 MHz): "... can see over a hundred on the streets of West Grayside ... a few big groups, but they're spread out ... several buildings with power ... heavy structural damage ... some survivor activity in Pole Mall ... the Copeland Building is looking wrecked ..." (22 hours and 3 minutes ago) --WanYao 12:10, 11 September 2008 (BST)

According to the most recent status updates for Pole Mall, the zombies have the upper hand again. With the situation on the ground often changing in a matter or hours, all parties are advised to heed only first-hand evidence, or the recent scouting reports of allies and other trusted sources, before making strategic and tactical decisions. --WanYao 12:10, 11 September 2008 (BST)

September 9th

NEWS FLASH: Cheers could be heard erupting from the three quadrants of Pole Mall just moments ago, as the last of the MOB zombies inside succumbed to a handful of brave zombie hunters. At this time, they are busy repairing the damage and cleaning up the mess left behind. The mall will hopefully be in business again very soon. The moment to return to reclaim West Grayside might have arrived.--FLZombie 02:58, 10 September 2008 (BST)

September 8th

Survivors have feverishly tried to regain control of Pole Mall, but quick reaction forces from the Militant Order of Barhah repeatedly pounce on them every time the buildings are repaired. Elsewhere in West Grayside, pressure continues on NT, Police and Fire Dept operations, with survivor numbers steadily dwindling as the battle for control of this suburb steadily rages. The situation is very fluid in this suburb at this time, but things may take a turn for the worse very soon if survivor action is not successful at dislodging MOB from key areas. At this time, survivors that require a stable and active NT might be hard pressed to get quick help in this suburb due to the constant harassment by zombies and the feral cloud surrounding MOB.--FLZombie 00:19, 10 September 2008 (BST)

September 7th

As was previously noted, MOB zombies have finally commenced their assault on the mall. All of the groans heard in the this part of West Grayside are coming from Pole Mall. The Northwest and Northeastern quadrants of the mall has been ruined already, despite coordinated attacks from the valiant defending survivors. It seems at this time that the battle is lost for the remaining men and women in this mall. --FLZombie 04:30, 7 September 2008 (BST)

UPDATE: Pole mall has fallen to almost 70 zombies. Even though several PKers were seen in the mall, it seems that they too were devoured by MOB. The zombies seem to be preparing for additional strikes in the vicinity.--FLZombie 18:14, 7 September 2008 (BST)

September 6th

Oh my. The MOB is in the mall. Not good for children and other living things. -- Grogh 01:42, 6 September 2008 (BST)

September 5th

Many brave sleeping souls were pounded on and bitten when the MOB broke into Egbert Hospital today. As I type my report they are being eaten and there is nothing I can do about it because of exhaustion. All I know for sure is that there are 7 zeds inside. I escaped passing over many dead bodies littering the floors with visceral muck. Also, I managed to identify Grogh inside at the last second before I was bitten and had to retreat several blocks away. The words that echo in my head were probably the last words spoken to the souls in Egbert "Wake up D*@n*t". As for the suburb, it is surrounded with many zeds and has various ruined buildings. Survivors tread lightly and be warned, it's dangerous outside ---Rylan Masters 02:31, 5 September 2008 (BST)

September 3rd

Reports are coming in of additional sightings of zombies from the Militant Order of Barhah. It has now been confirmed that they have entered the suburb from East Grayside, through the eastern border - suburb that was ruined in short order. Scouting parties have nibbled at Dampney Grove Police Department, Hodgkinson Row Fire Station, Mowlam Bank, Wiltshire Towers, Dimmock Auto Repair, and other places - but mostly limited to the eastern border. Survivors are strongly cautioned to avoid entering the area, since MOB apparently has decided to devour West Grayside.-- FLZ (MOB)

September 2nd

After having wrecked the surrounding suburbs the Militant Order of Barhah has begun to move into West Grayside. Five zombies have broken into Dampney Grove Police Department with more just across the border in East Grayside. --RichterFury 16:19, 2 September 2008 (BST)
