New Arkham is a suburb of Malton, located at the south-western corner of the city.

Although the large number of Necrotech buildings make New Arkham useful for scientists, the absence of police departments makes the area unattractive for survivors specializing in firearms skills. Because New Arkham is a long distance away from the mall, survivors here are at a significant resource disadvantage - survivors sometimes move out after acquiring Bargain Hunting. Even before the outbreak it was considered boring. Most people had simple office jobs. After children grew up, they usually left to find some place less dull. The only thing that New Arkham was ever famous for was that it was the youngest suburb in Malton, it was 37 years old at the time of the outbreak and is now preparing for 40th birthday celebrations.

New Arkham is experiencing significant zombie activity. Most of the west side of the block is in ruins with groups of 1-3 zombies in and outside of most buildings. The east side of town is not in ruins yet, but the NT buildings seem to have trouble keeping generators running.

May 3rd

Recent reports of increased zombie activity in New Arkham are grossly exaggerated. The Mitchener NT and the Parr Building (home to NewArk's cell phone mast) are down, but most of the suburb barricaded, many buildings are powered and there are very few zombies to be seen outside. --WanYao 13:42, 3 May 2009 (BST)

Mea culpa. Here is some evidence[1] of a moderate, concentrated, zombie presence at the Parr Building. Note, however, the rest of the suburb is fairly clear.

The Zombies are growing in numbers. Groups ranging in numbers from 3 too 20 have been seen destroying buildings, and is becoming very bad for the survivors who are hiding in fear of the oncoming attack.--User:Dustinmp9 20:42, 02 May 2009

NecroWatch reported from The Harford Building today. A scan revealed that there were 13 zombies within scanning range of the facility. 3 of the zombies are at the NT itself, and 3 were at Comitty Row Fire Station. All others in pairs or single, posing no great threat to survivor activities. ~ extropymine Talk | NW | 4Corners 05:59, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Update: NecroWatch reported from The Denty Building and The Wreford Building today. Scans revealed 40 zombies in scanning range, accounting for overlapping scans. Of these, 9 were at the Mitchener Building, 4 were at the warehouse adjacent to Mitchener, 5 were at Club Chester, 5 were at the Keyford Museum, 4 were at Comitty Row Fire Station, 3 were at Judd Cinema. All others were in pairs or single throughout the Southwest corner of the suburb. These concentrations demonstrate a legitimate threat to the corner of the suburb. ~ extropymine Talk | NW | 4Corners 08:14, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

February 27th

Of these numbers, 3 zombies were at the Woolven Building, the Methringham Grove revive point, and Small Street Fire Station.
