This page is for the requesting of page moves by normal users. The average user's ability to move pages has been rescinded due to frequent abuse by vandals; as such, users will need to submit requests (similar in nature to those on Speedy Deletions and Protections) for pages to be moved by a sysop.

Guidelines for requesting a Page Move

Copy the template below (Or just type it), replace the text in red with the relevant details, and paste the template under the Move Request Queue heading. A day after a sysop has taken action on the request, move requests should be moved to the Archive.

EVIL to EVIL (disambiguation)

I already spoke to DDR about this a while ago, but never got a definite answer. I think it would only be fair for us to have usage of the EVIL page, as a proper redirect, because we do go by EVIL. I'm actually all for having the content that's included on that page. It's just that I think it would be more appropriate this way. - Poodle of Doom 00:36, 14 August 2010 (BST)

This would pretty much invalidate the use of the disambiguation page entirely. Disambigs are meant to be what you go to right away when you search for a multi-use term, not something you have to go looking for after you've been directed to one over the others. The sun shone, having no alternative, on the nothing new 00:38, 14 August 2010 (BST)
I understand where your coming from, but to be honest,... this isn't really necessary. The truth of the matter is, DDR's new group doesn't even go by EVIL in game, two of the groups are listed for using EVIL in their name of all things (show me another disambiguation page that lists that), and something that doesn't even relate to any of the other pages listed. Yet we go by EVIL, and are listed on the stats page as EVIL, and when you click on the group for its wiki page,... you get that? Where should one be going from there? To us? To DDR? Is it an advertisement for a wiki thing? If I were new, I wouldn't be able to tell you. Not to mention all the incoming links for my group that now are contextually defunct. - Poodle of Doom 00:51, 14 August 2010 (BST)
Cf/ Umbrella for answers to all of these questions. As for the incoming links, I believe DDR stated he'd fix them. And your stats page link? Just use your group's actual name, I guess. The sun shone, having no alternative, on the nothing new 00:59, 14 August 2010 (BST)
You know, on the other wiki, when you have a word with multiple meanings but one central one (like US and US (disambiguation)) it's relatively common to see the main entry have the redirect and a message at the top linking to the disambiguation. Given that Poodle's group is listed on the stats page as "EVIL," and that there are 250-300 links to his group via the page, I really don't see a strong argument against leaving Poodle the redirect and slapping a big italicized disambiguation notice on top of his group page. ~ Red Hawk One Talk | space for lease 01:36, 14 August 2010 (BST)
I'd understand that if the group was actually called EVIL, but I see no reason to give them a redirect from what's used as a disambig page. If they used the EVIL page as their group page I'd have no problem with them having it to themselves, but this is pretty much the same situation as the pages Umbrella and DEM have. The sun shone, having no alternative, on the nothing new 01:43, 14 August 2010 (BST)
In my opinion, we should do just that: move Extremely Vengeful and Irksome Laymen to EVIL (and leave an appropriate redirect) since that's the group's actual name in-game, meaning that they have first rights to the page. Following that, we could set up E.V.I.L. as a redirect to Every Villain Is Lemons. Aichon 01:51, 14 August 2010 (BST)
I can'tuse that, it isn't a search term, people will only use EVIL. We use EVIL in game for propaganda which is why we need that disambig. I don't want people seeing our work and searching EVIL and finding Poodle's group. And before today, EVIL wasn't even on the stats page, they barely have any more members than us, and the disambig currently clearly states which one of us has EVIL as their group tags as to avoid confusion if they go there to find Poodle's group from in-game confrontation. -- 02:32, 14 August 2010 (BST)
That's onlyin response to the E.V.I.L thing, Poodle's group should be at EVIL and not where it is now, but if that doesnt happen I think the disambiguation page is the most fitting second step. -- 02:42, 14 August 2010 (BST)
I mean no offense when I say this DDR, but you do realize that the only difference between what exists right now, and what I propose should exist is essentially an additional link at the top of both of our pages? And be honest,... wouldn't doing what I suggested above be much easier than changing all the incoming links? Not to mention that the only two things that should be in the disambiguation page would be your group and mine... half these other groups use the term EVIL, and only loosely at that. Overall, it seems like such a petty matter. - Poodle of Doom 03:10, 14 August 2010 (BST)
I take no offence. To me it isn't about what's easiest or what takes up the less work or what can substitute what, it's about what is the right decision, what should be done. Workload isn't a concern because I'll do internal links if the disambiguation page stays and the sysops will do the 500+ moves required if you should move to EVIL groupspace (which imo is what should be happening). They are two examples of, imo, what is a better decision that shitting up both our pages with a gay disambig link at the top. And regarding the extraneous groups I added onto the EVIL disambiguation page, I sort of agree, but that's POV, and my work on EVIL was my attempt at being as NPOV and informative as possible. They existed, they had some impact, hell, Evil Avatar has more (or similar, can't remember) page views than your EVIL group does. -- 03:31, 14 August 2010 (BST)
Well,... Again, don't take offense to me shitting out what you say,... but you take the EVIL namespace... There's less work involved there,... and you'd be known as EVIL no less to right? Regardless... I have an idea I'm working on that could solve the problem... let me fool around with some coding here.... and I'll let you know. Still, I wouldn't mind a link at the top of my groups page.... I made that clear prior to this. - Poodle of Doom 03:38, 14 August 2010 (BST)
I know you don't mind, but I sort of do, I don't want it there, and again it only subverts the path to what should happen in order to negate the workload needed to achieve it. Allowing me to take the EVIL namespace is interesting but it makes no sense because you use EVIL in game, it's actually going more backward from what we have now. ATM the only thing that's giving your wishes grounds is the fact you use EVIL in-game, otherwise this whole request would most likely be thrown out on the spot. Giving the group space that you have right to via in-game representation away to another group is even worse than we have now, and if that happened my page would be the one that ended up on EVIL anyway, not a disambig, so it'd probably be worse than what we have now for both of us. BTW the redirect stuff isn't going to work, it has something to do with the amount of content on page I believe. -- 03:48, 14 August 2010 (BST)
So basically, my only response should be "Neener Neener! I was here first!",.... ahh,... I'm more diplomatic than that. Anyway,... I just don't care what you want anymore. I'm tired of trying to work with you... and I will make the code work!!! - Poodle of Doom 03:59, 14 August 2010 (BST)
In reference to what Red Hawk said above, there's an easier way than slapping on the code,... This Template would make it easier. I'm sure you're well aware of it's existance,... just thought I'd point it out. - Poodle of Doom 03:23, 14 August 2010 (BST)

To Guides:Short simple guide to staying alive From memory, having a space after the namespace prefix is bad for the wiki software, and since there is a good chance they'll be a guides namespace in the next few days, it's probably a good idea to move this so it doesn't vanish from memory ;) Linkthewindow  Talk  01:16, 7 August 2010 (BST)
