'''27/11/2020''' Most of the buildings are intact and barricaded. Not a single building lit, though, and the rest of them is just recently ruined. Survivor population seems to be low, but there are only 5 zombies, spreaded around the suburb. Except for the northwest corner, the suburb feels very quiet and can be considered safe for survivors at the moment. --[[User:Jelito2008|Jelito2008]] ([[User talk:Jelito2008|talk]]) 22:37, 27 November 2020 (UTC) | |||

Wykewood is a suburb of Malton, located in the south-west of the city. In Tudor times it was the grounds to a hunting lodge belonging to local nobleman Sir Walter Wyke (executed by Henry VIII for allegedly having "carnal knowledge" of one of the king's wives - thought to be the origin of the phrase "dipping one's wick"). Centuries later, 'Wyke's Wood' remained one of the more affluent areas of the city. Even post-outbreak it has rarely attracted zombies or other members of the urban underclass in any numbers.

Historically the area was heavily forested, and it retains some of its former arcadian character in the idyllic parks to the southwest. Some medieval buildings remain, such as St Fabian's church, but ill-advised urban planners in the 60s and 70s are responsible for some of the less attractive 20th century additions to the suburb's landscape.

Wykewood Information Resources
The Wykewood Building Information Center contains status reports and updates on key buildings in the suburb.

Revive Points
Wykewood's sole "published" revive point is a cemetery [17,75]. Revivification Requests may be placed using the Revive Tool (provided by DEM) or the Josephine's Generals forum.
The cemetery at [17,72] is not an active revive point run by any organized group, although revives may occasionally be had there due to general usage of the Sacred Ground Policy.
Players waiting for revives might want to move to Park Walk in South Blythville and put in a request at the Blythville Gang Message Board, who maintain it.

Barricade Plan
Wykewood has a Uniform Barricading Policy compliant barricade plan which can be found on its own page: Wykewood Barricade Plan. Note that barricade plans do not necessarily represent the actual state of a building's barricades, but rather the level to which survivors agree a building should be barricaded under normal conditions.
