Feral Movement

I'm glad you like the idea of the Feral Movement! Your point about the group tag is well taken, but I think that it definitely adds something to the potential for feral coordination. Just being able to scent death and find hordemates is great, to say nothing of familiar groans. Early on I debated whether to make the tag "Feral Movement" or just "Feral," but I settled on "Feral Movement" because I wanted something that would strike fear in the hearts of harmanz the way "Ridleybank Resistance Front" or "Feral Undead" does, and just plain "Feral" doesn't do it.

I'm about ready to add the Feral Movement to the main wikispace, and then I'll probably submit it to be considered for guide status. Is there anything about it that's unclear or could afford to be explained better? - DevOhm 04:21, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

You know it's funny, I was part of X:00 right at the beginning when Swiers started it up, and I'll admit, at the time I thought it was a great idea. Now though, I don't think it's that useful over all. It's not really a non-meta system – there's a lot of reading that has to be done before it can be used effectively. Even though I made a big fancy article for the Feral Movement, I've been able to recruit multiple members without ever linking to the article in-game. X:00 for me is mainly an interesting bit of history, but not something that I could see working out in a big way. - DevOhm 19:32, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
Upon further consideration, I've added an X:00 section to the page. I might actually try and use the tactic myself in the next couple days, to see how it pans out. I'm moving it to the main wikispace now. I've sat with it long enough, and I think it's finally ready. - DevOhm 23:19, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

Re: NSU

I think he is mainly training that zerg army of his atm. Just staying in the Krinks area would be of massive help. Somehow the conflict has attracted the attention of the Nazi Party of Malton, who have started PKing in Krinks as well. --zyckde 12:39, 1 April 2010 (BST)

Account

Hello, can you provide me a link to your account? --Cornholioo 16:12, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

I have various accounts. As far as those go that might come for you... It are only my two sole Feral Undead alts. They aren't too hard to find out, given you now know the group and that I go by the same handle in everything UD-related. So, I don't feel like serving them on the silver plate. Isn't honestly worth the research either, as unlike PKers, there's little one can pro-actively do about zambahs. --Spiderzed 18:14, 1 April 2010 (BST)
Ah, behold! The last shock before the death of this dirty Jew; before the Germanic Long Arm finishes him! In a final attempt to save himself of the Aryan man, he doesn't give me his account. Fear has become master of your soul. I have to do with you.
If you plan to goad me with your hate speech, that's not going to work. Use that cauliflower between your ears instead. I've already given away enough hints that any 3-year-old armed with Google could find out who my FU's are. (Granted, that might be a level of smarts unreachable by the average neonazi, especially if he's just a Beutedeutscher and thus racially carved out to serve his pure-blooded masters...) --Spiderzed 19:43, 1 April 2010 (BST)

Thank you for the heads up

Spiderzed,

Thank you for the heads up about my talk page posts. I have since corrected the issue. The fact that I am planning on retaking Colglough is no secret as it is part of my character concept and mentioned in game in english and zamgrh, though you were right about the forum info. I must say that you ferrals are a decent lot. When my building was still standing, I had feral visitors in human form from time to time and, with the exception of the odd call of MAH ZAMBAH BRAZARZ GANNA ZMAZH ZA HARMANZ AN BARG AHN ZA!R BRA!NZ!they always behaved in a most civil way. Feel free to stop by Colglough once renovations are complete whenever you wish.

Whittenside Edit

I like the edit you have posted to the Whittenside page. I preserved mine for later use. Do you mind if I use portions of yours for the zombie side of the Whittenside tourism guide that I am puting together?--Albert Schwan Albert Schwan  21:11, 10 April 2010 (BST)

Reply to your post in character and out

(meta-discourse warning: the following communication is out of character and provided for clarification and to provide context to future discourse) Regarding your comment on my talk page, first let me clarify that I do not frequent the forums because I doubt that an agreement between Albert’s group and the ferals can be reached. To clarify, Albert, as a character concept, is intentionally delusional and overly sanguine towards zombies. This is because I play this game for a different reason than many others. I realize that there is no strategic value in such an alliance but neither is there a way to ultimately win this game negating for me the idea of absolute strategy. I realize that for many ferals, victory is defined in less absolute terms making this a game about the strategic possession and maintenance of resources. For others, it is defined by the amount of destruction and death hey can bring during their career. For me it is about exploring character development in an interactive environment. Communications on this wiki, which he calls the great inter-Malton database, are to be considered in character unless otherwise specified. This is the reason that my Alt in Dulston is not mentioned on his account at all. My name is not Albert, my goals are not his; therefore, I will now let him speak. (end meta-discourse)

I see no reason that we cannot find a way to coexist. While there is no strategic advantage to peaceful relations with my group, and while I realize the relative size of the feral movement, I would argue that there is more to our fair city than strategy. My goal is and has always been the improvement of life/unlife in Malton. For this reason, I have created products to aid and entertain zombies and harmanz alike. The newest of them, zambgrh sgabbah (zombie Scrabble), even gives zombies a chance to practice their verbal skills and survivors something to do while waiting for a revive: available from Colglough labs as soon as we can hold the building long enough to design it. It is these products and the maintenance of a safe meeting spot for inter-cultural discourse that I bring to the table.

As to prior claim on geography, Necrotech occupied this building before the outbreak and my research is closer in spirit to theirs than barg!ng bra!nz. It is clear then that historic claim is relative. Again, should I manage to retake the building you and all of your group are welcome to visit, accord or no, to discuss this matter further.

Whittenside edit

You were right to follow up. Your first post did go unnoticed in the hustle and bustle that has been my talk page as of late. I viewed your edit and, while part of me is for the idea of changing the description between the two as the fort changes hands, I think that the critics who have commented on both of our edits would be happier if the edit were more evenly two sided. Accordingly, I am working on a post that is about the continuing battle over the fort rather than the fort itself using elements of both our previous attempts combined with a new graphic. Once I complete it I will send you a link and find out what you think.

--Albert Schwan Albert Schwan  03:53, 17 April 2010 (BST)

Just finished. This is a hybrid of our posts and I think will acomplish the goal even if it is a bit long. I removed the bit about the Spring Picnic as I feel this is a big enough event to warrent its own separate entry. Let me know what you think.
--Albert Schwan Albert Schwan  05:06, 17 April 2010 (BST)
In reference to the points you mentioned, in one I have acquiesced, one I wish to defend, and the other one bears more discussion.
The Image: If you like I can change the image but first I would justify its current state. I chose the patch because that group claims heavy involvement in the struggle for the fort going back to mid 2007. The patch itself is a derivation of the UDCC patch specialized for fort Perryn in recognition of the two older groups combining. It also looks pretty good. Since I was not in the suburb in 2006 when your group renamed the fort or in 2007 when they say they took it back and dedicated themselves to its defense, I can attest to neither claim but I know that both groups are very active now and tend to take them at their word. If there is information with which I am not furnished, let me know and I can easily readjust my preconceptions. As it stands, I am not opposed to removing the or changing the graphic. I like the yin yang as the post is about the unending struggle but If it would be easier, I can replace the group logos with stylized versions of the words “Fort Perryn” and “Fort Feral”
The contesting group list: In the name of simplicity, I removed the historic and newly arrived groups in favor of those who have been and continue to be a factor. The paragraph still mentions the FPDF as we can figure out what to do with this when we resolve the previous issue.
The Spring Picnic: I think you misunderstand my intent as regards the Spring Picnic. I fully realize the impact of this event as I have been witness to it once already and failed to live through the experience. I agree wholeheartedly that it belongs on the suburb page. I do, however, think that it is too large an event to be contained in the entry for the fort and suggest rather that it have its own mention on the suburb page as it changes the face of the whole suburb.
please let me know what you think,
--Albert Schwan Albert Schwan  20:51, 17 April 2010 (BST)
Will do and we can deal with the graphic later if need be. Incidently, I see that you are looking into changing the Colglough building page. May I ask which part?

Thank you again, but this time it was not needed

I appreciate the warning and receive in the spirit in which it was intended. I did however realize (unlike the last time) that this was being posted in a public forum. For this action, exact timing is not secret in the interest of attracting the attention of other survivors and the fact that I will attempt to retake is given. If members of the FU read it and wish to oppose the action I have come to understand that they will do so regardless of where I post the information. Clandestine ops, which I consider somewhat distasteful myself, seem to be almost wholly ineffective in Whittenside these days, so I prefer to deal with such issues primarily above board. In past I have even dropped by the building to warn the zombies inside that I was coming in Zamgrh to avoid revivifying anyone who did not wish to be revivified. I apologize for placing you in a moral dilemma and will do my best to flag information like this to make it clear that it is for open distribution in future. Once again I appreciate and respect your candor and ethics in brining this to my attention.

I dunno, the short version is here

User:Spiderzed/Sandbox/DCGuide

Don't forget that a death cultist will want Body Building instead of Flesh Rot (not as well as); and it always pays to know the quickest way to an entry point from your location, and to an NT building from there, so as to minimise HP loss to infection before arrival inside, allowing maximum shootiness before parachuting. For hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee 18:13, 13 May 2010 (BST)

Thanks for the interest.
I'll certainly speak about all that, especially the avoidance of the rot and generally useful harman skills (Freerunning, Diagnosis, NT Employment, Body Building etc.). It's just in the early work state of a few quickly jotted down notes. I'll also certainly put it in Developing Guides first once I think that it's on the way to be done. -- Spiderzed 18:28, 13 May 2010 (BST)
Just needs the examples to be concrete instead of theoretical (by which I mean, for example, suggesting actual fake group tags under that point, like perhaps Roftwood Survivor League or Ant-Zed Strike Force; or suggesting one or two 'survivory' phrases for profile fields like "Carries his axe grudgingly, unwilling to harm his old loved ones" or bladdy blah such like), and maybe increase the level of some of the headings but that's purely aesthetic. Apart from the first point anything else would simply be visual layout stuff that's just personal preferences but that's your call, after all. I like it. For hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee 22:27, 26 May 2010 (BST)
If you GK in Millen Hills, do it in the rot revive clinic, not the hospital, first. Trust me. For hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee 13:17, 29 May 2010 (BST)
The peripheral location of St. Dio's means that most of the NTs and PDs in the area rely instead on Edmund General in Shearbank, so there's not actually a huge disruption by taking down St. Dio's. It's still a good target but sometimes you need to look beyond a suburb to see how an area is best attacked. Given the feral slant of your guide, attacking both hospitals is inadvisable, but there's an RR clinic that serves as a good target for culting due to its heavy reliance on generators - hospitals can function without, if needs be, clincs can't. Plus the proximity of the clinic to an entry point which can be simply overcaded, and two other TRPs right beside it, means that a GKing run can be quite effective, with almost no travel time. For hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee 13:44, 29 May 2010 (BST)

Spring Picnic entry for the wiki

Some time has passed since our edit of Whittenside and none seem to objecting to the POV or content. I suppose the ultimate test will come during your next spring picnic when all of your zombie friends are once more in town. This brings me to my reason for posting today. I still think the Whittenside page needs an entry about the spring picnic. I have been a bit distracted as late by The Heathers else I would have brought this up sooner. If no one else is planning to write such a thing, I am willing to give it a shot, though I am not the most qualified to do so. If I am to write it I will obviously post it first for approval by the Feral community but I would appreciate it if you or someone else could provide me with some more detailed information about its history and character so that I may make my post as fair as is possible. Things look a fair bit different on the chomping side of the teeth.

Having worked with you in past, I found you to be a knowledgeable person interested in improving the wiki and the UD community. Consequently, there are a couple of projects on which I would appreciate your input.

--Albert Schwan Albert Schwan  02:50, 4 July 2010 (BST)

Thank you for your feedback, the gaps that you identified were a big part of the reason I asked for input. From what I see in New Arkham, Red Death is still ongoing, and project lemming seemed mostly aborted as that would have accomplished itself by now according to the mission statement. My intention in this case was to mention these later events as events that grew out of the Escape movement to provide transitions to later pages. I realize that things look a bit different from the survivor perspective. I had been of the impression that Escape galvanized the formation of the zombie Horde (spelled correctly this time) that was used as the kernel of BB3. Yet you indicate that BB3 was in the plans and was delayed. Is it possible to get more information on this or does this fall under the category of Zombie trade secrets? I will look into the zerging issue with escape and see what I find to add. I assume there is data on this posted on the wiki somewhere. As to the LCG, I will admit that this tactic is frequently used poorly and irresponsibly, this is the reason I am writing the guide: to help earnest life cultists distinguish themselves from…I believe the term is “trenchies too lazy to mrh? Cow” Thank you again for the feedback. I shall continue to improve these pages when time allows.

EMRP: Reports to Process

No, I only have one character. And duplicate reports in the same day do happen. I've seen it a lot since I started recording EMR. When they happen, I put only one of them on the suburb's news page, and the time difference between duplicate reports.

By the way, do you have any more reports with precise time? I logged in 12 hours late today, and many EMRs were marked as "yesterday." Also, if you log in and don't see me update the page, feel free to do it yourself. I'd appreciate any kind of help. -- Kittithaj 12:46, 11 July 2010 (BST)

DC Guide

Not bad stuff, I would include some fun stuff to do with spray cans and radios though, through basic psy-ops. Getting on the radio and screaming "OH MY GOD ZOMBIES IN CAIGER!!!111!!!!eleven!" Thats a fun way of making people waste AP to go check things out. Also claiming that you "sighted notorious DC/PKer (insert name here) in building (insert name here)". Lastly using cans to literally spray over everything, take away revive points, make people think entrances are farther then they really are (if you haven't already overcaded said entrance point), stuff like that. --

Emot-argh.gif 01:05, 16 August 2010 (BST) No problem feel free to take the list. If your having any problems getting it to work just drop me a line and I can check your coding, the hardest part was getting it to automatically update, I had to go to Reverant for that help but I'm pretty sure I could figure any hard part out nowadays (as a heads up if you do make it based on your forum, it needs to be publicly accessible for all to see otherwise you will get numerous error messages). In the near future, I could use pencils. (Or at least lead ores to make them myself once I've earned some levels - sticks are easily gained as homesteader.) I think the town needs a living general store, not an idle one run by the incumbent mayor. -- Spiderzed 17:05, 29 August 2010 (BST)

Looking at the wiki, it seems like both lead ingots and pencils are made of lead ore - which is found in the hills (and is what I search for right now). Seems like you should use your next perk to learn the lead ingot recipe, as I just need lead ore to get my general store off the ground, while lead ingots are a dead end for my current plans. -- Spiderzed 17:49, 29 August 2010 (BST)
