West Grayside is a suburb located in south-central Malton.

West Grayside was Malton's number one entertainment and cultural hotspot and a major commercial hub before the outbreak. The suburb is home to Pole Mall, the innovative Hitoshi Abe-designed Clapton Stadium, as well as numerous fashionable clubs and pubs, and several popular cinemas. Whether it was hipsters or hip hop kids, football fans or Miskatonic student-intellectuals, postcard punks or upscale fashionistas, all kinds could be seen vying for the spotlight in the suburb's sidewalk cafes, pubs, clubs and trendy boutiques.

Darker times have fallen upon the neighborhood since the outbreak, however, and life has simplified somewhat -- with the major fashion statements competing against each other now being trenchcoats, tensor bandages and neural decomposition.

There are two radio stations serving West Grayside: 26.19 MHz is the frequency for the SE-4 district, which includes West and East Grayside, Kempsterbank and Wyke Hills; and 26.82 Mhz is dedicated station for Pole Mall.

Odd that there are numerous Lvl 1 Firemen created in the last 2 days at Purt Walk fire station. If Smoked is right and this is the GKer base, some of them are getting close to 100 Exp to get Freerunning and cause more problems in Pole Mall. I cannot think of a good counter to this problem. Bringing cades up to EHB will only result in them attacking the cades to get in after getting Freerunning from beating up dead Gker's outside. Best we can do is kill them as soon as they spawn although that ups the zombie population at the gates. I don't think there is a defense against Zerging Gkers other than Zerging Gen Suppliers and gas attendants or everyone carrying around a spare generator or two and fuel.

Zerging GKers continue to attack Pole Mall. More zergers are being created to replace those killed by the mall's defenders. --Smoked 4:46 GMT

August

August 31st

Purt Walk Fire Station seems to be home base for the GKers. Their usernames consist of a first and surname and they are all level 1 firemen.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Smoked (talkcontribs) 16:15, August 31, 2010.

GKers are making their way through the suburb, hitting Pole Mall especially hard. The tend to be level 1 firemen. Although they could be zombie spies, they display no group affiliation and the suburb has no organized hoards. Most likely trolls. --Smoked 17:27, 30 August 2010 (EST)

August 7th

Egbert General Hospital under by a hoard of <20 zeds, mostly brain-rotters. Barricades still standing. The rest of the suburb is free of any hoards bigger than 5 zombies. --Smoked 12:04, 7 August 2010 (EST)

26.19 MHz: "Quick lookaround with binocs shows W. Grayside mostly lit, zedless. In fact, almost like this whole infection thing is a lie...no, wait, there's one." --VVV RPMBG 19:32, 6 August 2010 (BST)

July

July 28th

25.96 MHz: "... can see twenty or so on the streets of West Grayside ... they're just wandering around ... a lot of lights on, looks the area's been reclaimed ... infrastructure looks intact too ... Pole Mall has lights on ..." -- Kittithaj 03:09, 29 July 2010 (BST)

Big Bash 3 already left. They're now in Kempsterbank (follow the BB3 here) Most of the suburb is ruined but not really occupied. Pole Mall contains ~5 zeds in each corner.--DiSm 21:48, 28 June 2010 (BST)

June 26th

Pole Mall is one third ruined. The Big Bash 3 is hitting hard with 40+ zeddies.

NecroWatch reported in from the Copeland Building today. A recent NecroNet scan had revealed that there were 2 zombies within scanning range of the facility. Of these numbers, both were alone, thus posing no serious threat to any specific locations. --Mobius
