Talk:Mod Conspiracy
There is only one conspiracy in this wiki... it did found some results and the wiki got a lot better after it... until the conspiracy dissolved and most its members vanished, and the wiki turned into what we have today... i start to think that we need more conspiracies around here... --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 04:18, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
- True, well if you want you can "un-earth" some conspiracies and add them here. Honestly, although I'm trying to make it a joke I'm not really the kind of person who makes jokes (or writes anything with much content for that matter). =\ This will probably be more of a news article summing up whats happening on the moderation pages if someone else doesn't help contribute. I never was very good on creating content. - JedazΣT ΞD GIS S! 04:50, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
Policy exposed
Well, you're right that the policy grants teoretically unlimited leeway for vandalism, but the fact that you have to be an extremely good contributor (500 edits every 2 months) in one side and an extremely patient vandal (only 2 acts of vandalism allowed) in the other can't be taken seriously as a loophole. Also, I was going to point out that the policy was meant to take off only ONE warning each 250 edits and 2 months, but now that you point it the wording seems to permit 2 struck warning every 2 months provided that you made 500 edits in time. I don't know if "the spirit of the policy" will be used in this case or just the wording (I wrote that part of the guidelines BTW, with corrections from either Xoid, BobHammero or nobody) and the spirit was as I said above. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRC☺T☺+1 05:27, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah exactly. Oh well I'm thinking of changing this from a "mod conspiracy" thing to a news and other events thing. It'ld be so much easier just to write facts rather than try and make a joke. Anyway we really should have some kind of historical document of the evolution of the wiki. - JedazΣT ΞD GIS S! 07:27, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
- New plan, I'm gonna take over Current events, I'll have this page SDed in about a weeks time once everyone sees this message. - JedazΣT ΞD GIS S! 07:50, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
- You're sure? I think a private group page would make things easier. First, that Current events page is unknown, and second, it belongs to the community! Meaning that either you won't be noticed or, if you are, people will start editing your comments as "not NPOV" and adding news to counter yours because you don't own it. Peraphs using this page, plus creating some flagbox template saying "I'm informed, I'm ready: Mod Conspiracy" for everyone that reads it to use it on their user pages and publicise would be better IMHO. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRC☺T☺+1 09:10, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

How best can I help to topple the evil moderation team? Especially that dastardly, dashingly handsome bureaucrat of theirs? –Xoid M•T•FU! 22:30, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Hrm.
I only have one problem with this group. I think the idea behind it is great, don't get me wrong. But there's no opportunity for debate. One of your Records could be horribly wrong and misinformed, sending the wrong message to those users who read them. The Wiki Monitors Monitors group is obviously a parody, so they won't be of any real use. I think you guys need to add some kind of protest section, where people (not necessaarily mods) may bring up concerns they might have about your Records.--Absolution 07:51, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- That is true. Well I'll add in a protest section to this talk page. However if people want to they can join up with the group and alter any news item to make it funnier, it's suppose to be a joke (but with some facts to it), however I'm not that flash hot with humour. But thanks for the idea about the protest section. - JedazΣT ΞD GIS S! 08:28, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- Er, I think Absolution may have put that on the wrong group's page - WMM doesn't really apply to this one. Heh. Cyberbob Talk 08:30, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think you are right. My brains a bit dead so I didn't pick that up, but I still think it's a good idea to have a section like that for feedback/constructive criticism. - JedazΣT ΞD GIS S! 09:26, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

My sig is in no way part of any "duel" or "pissing match" or anything of the sort. It was a result of sheer boredom. As I've already stated, but you've conveniently ignored.

I don't think I need to comment here.
In short - please revise that entry to a) be objective and b) show both sides of the story. Thank you. Cyberbob Talk 11:13, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe "get into a duel" is taking a bit of artistic license... but, umm, can't see much wrong with the rest. Out of sheer boredom, you decided to attempt to make the most annoying sig in wikidom... I notice you're not denying that it's all part of a scheme to take our minds off the larger, hidden conspiracy though. I take that as PROOF POSITIVE that there is indeed a conspiracy! - I missed that, actually. But you can edit that, too. I thought your group's aim was to present facts, not make baseless assumptions. Cyberbob Talk 11:27, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Na, we're more into propaganda, you're probably thinking of WM. Wherever I go over the top with my allegations, it's a joke, s'alright bob. Wherever I speak facts, they're facts, s'alright... I'll leave the reader to decide which is which by reading the links I give to the real story, and yes, your explaination that it was just a spur of the moment, boredom thing is in the link. - Thats ok, it happens. We were originaly going to be completly factual but a jokes much more fun. Oh and by the way Boxy, I am going to edit it slightly so that it isn't quite as awkward with some of the wording (mainly the 2nd paragraph), but I found it quite funny. Oh, and nice template (I'm changing the colours because that brown and yellow don't go together well) Keep up the good work =) - JedazΣT ΞD GIS S! 12:23, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe I should explain my view on what it's all about, although it's really Jedaz's idea, I may be outta wack with what she wanted for the page... anyway, I see it as looking at serious stuff on the wiki, in an over the top, a satirically conspiracy theorist kinda way. Do I think there's a problem behind the things I write about there? Yes. Are the allegations that I make a reflection of what those problems are? Not necessarily, usually they're much more mundane, but not always. Do I go too far sometimes? Yeah, I guess I do, I can be a bit aggressive at times I suspect... I just want to be mildly entertaining, so perhaps more wiki users will look at some of the political wranglings that go on -- boxy T L ZS PA DA 12:37, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

I was not a confidante. If anything, I was a "good dog" that was beaten until I bit. But now that we are entering into a wiki utopia I fear what will become of your little page. - I reckon his attempt at a coup d'etat was more Julius C than Jebus C. And, it would seem that the reporter of the event exaggerated your relationship for the sake of drama. It all stems from your first mention. And, I know - with the centerpiece villain gone, what now? Maybe he'll get unbanned and return to the wiki to harass the new 'crat/psyop utopia team, thus becoming a freedom fighter for the resistance? Maybe, having rid yourselves of "this troublesome priest", you and Conn will form a New Way that involves the removal of all democratic freedom? Ah, I live in hope...for without drama, what is there in life? (Jokes. It's only jokes.) --Funt Solo QT 03:00, 10 October 2008 (BST)
- I dunno. With Grim gone maybe we should start a wiki community about a zombie game? I know, that's just crazy talk.
