For what it's worth

I was kidding about the money, I didn't receive a dime. He also OFFERED it before I asked for it. That wouldn't be extortion, just payment for a service. Now then, he also EDITED the pages incorrectly, removing and messing up whole comments. That's why it's vandalism. The fact that he kept doing it is why I got pissed and decided to be a dick. After Iscariot gave him a pretty obvious warning, he edited the shit again, you know. He kept fucking with it when told to stop, that's just pushing his case even further down. The problem wasn't that he was trying to remove personal info, it's how he was going about doing it.

"SA tell me why I don't know shit about the wiki and call me something really nasty. Go ahead. But you both crossed a line and you should be ashamed of yourselves. And that stands. "

I don't think I'm the one who's ever called you something really nasty, that's generally DDR's job to do that. Hell, I wasn't even much of a dick during the whole me using a sock fairly issue. More just pissed at wanyao trying to go on his anti-'ops crusade, and ignoring everything I said about it.

"It had nothing to do with following the rules or any other BS excuse you're likely to come up with. The truth is, you both saw a gleaming to opportunity fuck somebody over and you delighted in it. What does that make you?"

It makes me someone who was pissed at someone else who was doing something wrong and wasn't listening on how he shouldn't be doing it that way. THE ONLY REASON it's vandalism is the way he's gone about it. So the ruling was ALL about the rules. But please, do go on about how I'm such a bad person and how I should be ashamed of myself.

"You two plotting, heartless, maniacal, smarmy little nigglers are a disgrace to anonymous internet dickheads around the world. I fucking pray neither of you shit monkeys ever end up in a position of any real authority or have the outcome of another human being's life placed in your sweaty little hands because you fuckers don't deserve an ounce trust. Not one ounce. "

Actually, up until I quit my old job a little over a month ago, I co-owned a tech store, where I was co-boss person. Quite a few times people have run into trouble with finances or other personal things and I would get everyone I could to chip in and help out with that persons problems. So yeah, I can guarantee that those employees would disagree with you. But please, call me evil some more.

Now, next time you decide to have a shit fit over something, make sure you know everything, and know more about the people involved before you go on these long rants.

Also, it wasn't a vote to have his editing priv's removed, but to give him an official warning. Which doesn't really mean shit, as if he cared about staying at the wiki he'd get enough edits to get rid of it fast enough.-- SA 21:32, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

I'm glad you've been in a position to be responsible for the affairs of others and that you've acted appropriately. And I hope you were kidding about taking the guy's money. It's true I don't know you and I can't say how you behave in the real world. Chances are, you're a great person. So what I'd like is for you to treat people here with some of that compassion and respect you have IRL.
That's what I'm ranting and raving about. Because from where I was sitting, it sure looked like you and Iscariot were going out of your way to make someone else miserable. Now, I've had a chance to cool down from my rant and I wish I hadn't used profanities to make my point and I apologize to you for the way I made my point. But I still believe my underlying criticism.
My objection isn't about the vandalism case. It's about the way you two treated that guy. And yes my rant was over the top, but I stand by the sentiment. Thank you for responding here. In the future you can be sure that I'll treat you with greater decency if I get all hot and bothered about something. And I hope you'll take some of that to heart and make an effort to be more understanding of the troubles of others.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 12:29, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

Right, right. Sorry. You wanted your vote to say "against" instead of "no". You and SA like to be different with your votes and I forgot about that. I was trying to be helpful but I see that you didn't find it helpful.

I don't care about my vote being different, especially given all of them were the same as mine before you happened to them, I care about the integrity of people's signed comments. That and you're thinking you changed them to make them valid votes didn't you? Because you didn't. Basic reading of the page shows that it says the only acceptable votes are Yay or Nay, you've altered the signed comments of other users and made them just as invalid as when they started, but compatible with how you wanted them to be. Also, do you want to explain why you were attaching my observations that had been on that page since the beginning of the bid to ZL's comment? Wait, what? Are you talking about this edit? What's wrong with that?--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 00:05, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
You attach my comment to that of ZL, inferring that I made my comments in response to his, which I quite obviously didn't. Adding my comment to his specifically ascribes meaning to my comment, a meaning that was not there before you edited. You therefore have edited my signed comment and altered its meaning to be different from that which it was previously. We call this impersonation. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 00:11, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
I certainly wasn't attempting to alter the meaning of your posts. I have a very long explanation for all of this, and I hope you'll take the time to read it, because it's important to me to clearly tell you where I'm coming from.
The principal is quite simple, really. I was trying to retain the numbering of registered votes, which you may know are preceded with a # symbol. Comments which are not votes need to be indented #: thusly, or it will reset the count, giving the illusion of separate vote tallies, which is annoying. Here is an example of some voting with comments:
  1. #Yup I like pie. --
  2. #Nope I hate pie. --
    #:Random Comment. --
    #::Response to comment. --
    #:::Response to response. --
  3. #Yup --
Now, let's look at a second example, where the comments were not preceded with a # or an :
  1. #Yup I like pie. --
  2. #Nope I hate pie. --
nothing hereRandom Comment. --
  1. #Yup --
Do you see how it restarts the count? The third vote becomes 1 instead of 3. It's irritating to the eye and if every comment was done in this fashion, then the votes would become very scrambled indeed. 1,2,3,1,2,1,1,1,2,3,4,5,1,2,.. and so on.
Finally, here is an example in which the commentor used a #, but neglected the :.
  1. #Yup I like pie. --
  2. #Nope I hate pie. --
  3. #Random Comment. --
  4. #Yup --
Well, the problem here is that the comment has been designated it's own number, even though it isn't intended to be a vote. So this also causes confusion. I do understand that you use the : to demonstrate that a comment is in response to the last person or general topic. However, the : also has use in wiki code, with for example [[:Image:hearts.png]], or [[:template:wuv]],, where the : specifies that a link will be provided without calling the template or image. Also, the : is used to set aside a comment in a numbered list without breaking format, as above.
So do you see how a colon could be used in this situation without implying that a comment was in direct response to ZL's vote?
Also, do you see the inherent ambiguity in a comment which directly follows a series of votes? Many votes on the wiki are interrupted by comments, indented with the convention above, and so it's certainly not out of the ordinary to continue the votes beneath a series of comments.
However, I respect your desire to be understood, as it is among the most basic needs in communication. So how can we act in the future to clearly communicate? I would suggest that if you were interested in commenting below a series of votes, that you set your comment apart with a couple of spaces.
Let's look at the example again.
  1. #Yup I like pie. --
  2. #Nope I hate pie. --

Random Comment. --
Now if I'm voter 3 it becomes apparent to me that I should vote above the random comment, directly after vote 2. But if you look at it without a space,
  1. #Yup I like pie. --
  2. #Nope I hate pie. --
Random Comment. --

That's fairly ambiguous, right? Maybe the random comment is in response to vote 2 but the commenter forgot or didn't know about the #:. Maybe it's a criticism of the entire voting process but it should be taken as an aside and the voting should commence after the comment. Or perhaps, as you intended, it should be separate from the voting at the bottom of the page. I'm sure you can understand, however, how it can be difficult for a voter to interpret just what the random commenter had in mind.
So, my point in all this, is that you're entitled to feel very strongly about being clearly understood. But also it isn't fair to others if they misunderstand your intentions, when those intentions are not clearly communicated. So, why leave it up to a possible misunderstanding? In this example, you can just use a double-space next time. Also, I hope you can see where I was trying to keep the page organized and interpret the formatting of the comments as best I could.
Thank you for reading my treatise on the colon. This message has been brought to you by punctuation, fun for the whole family.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 01:34, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

My (Eventual?) Sysop Bid

Hey, just saw your comment on Misanthropy's bid, about saving a Vouch for me. While I'm very flattered that you'd consider doing that, please don't hold off on supporting any qualified candidates on my account. To be perfectly frank, this is the first wiki that I've really engaged in, so I'm very much a wiki newb at the moment, and am still learning major aspects of the wiki on a regular basis.

I've only just started watching the drama parts of the wiki, and haven't even started chipping in with my opinions yet, since my opinions on those matters are still too ill-informed. I haven't read up on policy yet, and am basically getting by right now by applying common sense. It works well enough for me, since I haven't engaged in the drama parts where wiki-lawyering is more predominant, but if I were to apply for being a sysop, I'd need to have built competence in those areas, which I don't have at the moment.

When it comes to janitorial duties, I've barely taken any on myself, and the ones I have taken on myself are simple ones that any monkey could do. And even then, people still have to come up and clean behind me, since I miss things anyway.

Plus, there's the matter of actually wanting to be a sysop. Assuming I did feel qualified, I'd need to assess my own motives and determine whether I wanted it so that I could help the community, or if I wanted it because I simply wanted a symbol of status. Thankfully, at the moment, the point is moot, given that I'm unqualified, but I'll need to consider my motivation at some point and make sure that it's in the right place before I apply.

Long story short, I don't mean to be self-deprecating, but as a simple statement of fact, I'm definitely unfit for being a sysop at the moment, and I'm not sure if I'll want to be one later. I'll admit that I definitely have considered the idea of applying, but once I assessed myself, it was obvious to me that I wouldn't be a good fit right now. Perhaps in six months' time I'll reconsider, or perhaps sooner, if I feel that I've become more competent, but, at the moment, I still have much to learn about the way that the wiki operates.

So, again, thank you very much for supporting me, but I'm simply not ready right now. Aichon 22:53, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

Haha that's perfect. It's your whole attitude that you need to be better and learn more that would make you such a good 'sop. I understand completely what you're saying though, and I hope when you're ready you won't be afraid to run. Well keep up the good stuff and see you around!--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 23:14, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
Dont worry, when/if I feel like I'm getting close to being ready, I won't shy away from it, and I'm sure I'll start dropping hints well in advance anyway. Aichon 23:32, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
Chip in on talk pages anyway. Ill-informed or not, you should be saying how you feel on talk pages and the like.-- SA 23:26, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
I intend to start doing so soon (within the month, I think), but I want to make sure I have some basic understanding of the processes before I go shooting my mouth. ;) Aichon 23:32, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

Bringing Life to Dead Descriptions

Hi Giles, thanks for the kind words. I often wonder if anyone ever reads the stuff I write (page hits suggest: No) so it was encouraging to get a positive response! I'd definitely be interested in a more coordinated attempt to inject some humour and detail to a nondescript suburb, preferably one with some potential quirks and interest like your own chosen Foulkes Village.

I have a tourist alt heading up to the barren NW corner and adding the in-game description lines for any building he visits: the buildings in those ghost towns and red suburbs are practically all stubs. (I'm trying to see how long a level 1 character can survive with only the free running skill, and dark ruins to hide in...)--Mallrat 14:32, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

Hmm. It appears that Giles has got the wrong kind of link on it. I tried fiddling with it, but I couldn't get it right. Basically, Giles, it's an internal link, but it needs to be external, with the wiki prefix.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 15:00, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
Thanks again, Yonnua. Yeh Mallrat, let's do it! I'm really interested in getting Foulkes Village "pimped", but it's just such a daunting task to do a suburb by yourself. I could really use the help. I tell you what. I'll start up a clean page where we can keep records of what we're doing and what we intend to do, that way we aren't stepping over each others' feet. I'll get something going here later today and send you a link, then we can get started. Laters =)--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 18:49, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

That's a good link Ross :) I've been using that with my Foulkes Village edits. Also Category:Location Images. There are so many images for buildings already on the wiki right now. I just wish there were more street and wasteland pics.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 19:58, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
Have a look at Vinetown. I did a similar project about a year back, might help give you a few ideas. (And each suburb should have at least one location where the outbreak DEFINATELY started.) See Blabey Drive --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 20:21, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
Vinetown is a monumental wiki achievement, and the thing that first gave me the idea to fully describe my home suburb. Are you the guy who started the "pimp my 'burb" project or was that someone else? Btw, if you want to help with Foulkes Village I'd be happy to have your contributions.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 20:27, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
No it wasn't me. Vinetown was the first area I settled in ,and me and some folks from Mercy sat down in their forum and brainstormed what we thought the history of the burb was. I didn't remove anything from indivivdual history pages, I jsut tied it all up together. As for the offer, thanks, but I'm kind of busy. Plus, its a lot easier to form a coherent identity for s suburb if only one person is doing the whole area. These days I just do pages like Blight Park (Crowbank) and the ridiculous Danger Alley --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 20:39, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
I read Blight Park a while back but Danger Alley was a new one to me. Very funny stuff and a real labour of love. Vinetown is one of my main characters' 'manors' so I take an interest in what's written there. I'm trying to adjust what I write for Foulkes to remain in keeping with what's already there. My mental image of Foulkes is of a former Anglo-Saxon village which grew into a town in its own right, but was about to be swamped by urbanisation when the outbreak occurred. The remnants of the Village reflect this town-and-country conflict. Anyway, that's how I see it.--Mallrat 17:35, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
Nice, If I do another one its going to be Dentonside. The existing history on the suburb page suggests a lot of things, and I want to tie it into what I've added to Tolman Power Station. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 20:30, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

location images subcat

Honestly, why? I'm a bitch for categories, but subcategorising the Location Images is redundancy at its best; any unused location images get deleted after a month so any such image is at best just placable in an easy-to-use location, makes it easier to categorise too, imo. --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 13:48, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

Two main reasons:
  1. To make it easier for people to find images for location pages.
  2. I suspect (though I haven't verified) that it takes less disc space to display 1 image 100 times, than to display 100 different images 1 time each.
If 2 is true, we should plan ahead and prevent the server from being burdened with thousands of location images, by encouraging the re-use of suitable images. Location Images are unlike a lot of the other 1 time use images, in that they get attached to a location page and will remain in use. As such, they stick around and add to the total number of images taking up disc space.
Even if 2 is false, 1 is reason enough to subcategorize the location images. Also, it is worth noting that subcategorizing location images is only the first step in a process to make location images more convenient for people to find and use. I intend to detail that process as it gets closer to implementation.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 15:08, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
That's exactly the problem, people don't go to Category:Location Images to find images to use for their locations. They go to a page that has unused images that have been added to be used as a template (figuratively) for future location images. I swear the page exists, I just haven't been able to find it atm. Karke would know. Anyways, this just adds more pain in learning how to categorise images in my opinion, which is hard enough to encourage people to do already. --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 15:28, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
You mean an image ark. Or this? Location Page Building Toolkit --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 15:55, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
Right, I see that I should provide you with some insight into my plan for improving the location images. So I'll do that now. My whole idea is to make an easy to use, entirely optional system for finding specific location images, in a way that doesn't interfere with the current system.
Along the way to implementing my system, I won't make anything more complicated for other users and I won't mess up the the functionality of anything currently in place.
So if you prefer to categorize new images under Category:Location Images you can continue to do so without any interference or trouble. And in fact, even after completing my plan, you will be able to do so.
I'm not going to create any extra work for anyone, and I'm willing to do all of the work myself. Finally, my new system will be entirely optional for other users while still providing added utility for the entire wiki even if I drop off the face of the earth after implementing it.
Also, it's worth noting that I'd like to provide links to the new subcategories on Ross's toolkit page, so that anyone going there can find more images grouped by location type. The toolkit is a great resource, and it can be made even better by providing wiki users with more images from which to select.
Do you have any specific concerns with the newly created subcategories or are you just afraid that I'm creating a lot of unnecessary work for myself without any foreseeable gain?--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 17:24, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
Man... If only I had been able to find that damn page. I SWEAR it existed... --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 22:32, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
Ah well, no biggie. Maybe it got deleted somewhere along the long road. The good news is I finished sorting out the locations, which I'm sure you noticed from the wall of edits. Now to work on a better substitute for that subcat template...--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 22:38, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
But theres nothing wrong with it. Its just unnecessary in 50% of the cases it's used in. --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 22:55, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
I assume that the "it" you're referring to in your sentence is the subcat template, which is what I was also referring to. And there actually is a problem with it in terms of it's usefulness. For example. Go to Category:Location_Images. Don't just look at the link, actually click on it and go there now (you can open the page in another tab if you want.
You'll notice under the header "Subcategories" it says,"There are 12 subcategories to this category."
Well that's actually not true. There are currently 27 subcategories (Outdoor Images, Non-TRP Images, TRP-Images, and the 24 Image categories I just finished with). So, why doesn't the subcat template list all subcateories? Well, this has to do with the way it works.
I intend to provide a complete explanation of how subcat fails to have utility in cases where the items in a category number more that 200. And I'll lay all of that out after designing a manual subcategory template which will be more useful in situations like this. =) Sorry if I'm not making much sense yet, I promise I'll explain everything thoroughly in short time here.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 23:07, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
When you chuck anything in a category, the wiki sorts everything, be it category, article or file, in blocks of 200 alphabetically. So yeah later subcategories getting buried can be annoying. You can either use Template:Subcat which exists soley to get around this annoying default behaviour, or only have things exist in their more specific category (so instead of some image being in location images and factory images, it's just in factory images). -- User:The Rooster RoosterDragon User talk:The Rooster 23:14, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
Having specific location images exist only in their specific categories is actually an eventual goal of mine. However, I don't want to break the usefulness of "category:location images" in the meantime, so I'd like to provide a simple template on that page with links to the various subcategories. After that, I'll go through the subcats and remove the "location images" category, as long as no one can foresee any problems with that. Of course, I'll communicate all of this clearly before taking any action.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 23:20, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

I would be archiving UDWiki:Administration/Policy Discussion/Better Vandal Data just now but I know you've put work into it and you were adamant in seeing it through to the end, so I'm gonna give you a bump to see if you're still interested in throwing it up for voting. Just thought I'd say hi

So, one of my alts bumped into you in-game. Unfortunately, it's probably not the alt you would normally want to meet, and my alt had friends with it that seemed to think you tasted good. Anyway, you won't be lonely for long. We'll provide plenty of zombie friends for you to play with very soon. :) Aichon 01:16, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Ah, you're MOBing it up huh? Well, I'm glad I provided a tasty snack. Though in my defense I went inactive for a couple days before you guys moved into town. See ya around =P --GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 18:57, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Yep, one of my alts is with them. And yeah, I noticed the lack of wiki activity and figured you were inactive. You'll be happy to know that Cyril, where you were, put up a good fight and lasted over a day, making it the toughest nut to crack in the suburb. They even managed to push us out and get barricades up once, I think. CAPD had more people, but I think it took less than a day, probably because people were already wounded and lacking TRPs by that point. Anyway, we're almost done in Foulkes Village, but maybe I can have my PKer swing by and "say hi" sometime, now that I know where CAPD is firsthand. :P Aichon 19:06, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
So, I was just in IRC, when I saw the leader of a strike team give the order for a member of the team to "take Giles." Afraid I wasn't in the building this time, but I wanted to express pity since I know you only just got back and are already dead again. Best of luck getting back on your feet! I don't envy the position we've left you in with Foulkes Village, which is pretty much what the RRF is doing to my survivor's home suburb right now.... Aichon 04:16, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
Blech. I'm dead every time I log in.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 17:23, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Well I did play the song first, as you requested. God damn Freddie Mercury is sooooo fucking cool! I've heard that song maybe a hundred times and it still gets me hyped. He's like a crazy combination of Michael Jackson and Mick Jagger on stage. And I liked your taunts. They were pretty funny and I did actually giggle a bit. Also, I liked the alalaaheah flourish at the end there.

As far as your kills, I'm kind of "meh" about them. I mean those guys were just chillin in their PD, probably trying to meat shield because zeds are still in the neighborhood. And two of the targets were on low health. Easy pick'ins.

Are you still part of the Rum? Maybe sometime we could all meet up on neutral turf, without the concerns of barricades and allies and just have an old-fashioned shoot out, man-hunt style. I think it would be a fun and challenging for both of us. Of course I realize it wasn't that long ago since the last time we hooked up in Foulkes. Anyways something to think about there. See you around. Also, check this shit out.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 10:01, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

I love them more in descending order from the top. So I guess my vote goes to the bottom one, I like it the most. -- 12:14, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
I vote for that bottom one as well. The top one isn't bad either, but the bottom one is by far the best. The middle one reminds me too much of the NT colors on the barricade plans. Aichon 18:36, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

Otoole an I

So I got your message on wanting to hear both sides of the story. So I made a response. You didn't respond to it, and I realized you probably wanted me to contact you on your page. I am an idiot. Anywho, here it is, completely unedited. Thank God for copy/paste.

Alright, I was a zombie in Foulkes Village about 2 weeks back (around the time of the FU and MOB invasion. I saw miles otoole, who I often noticed and spoke with in my earlier days hiding out in the CAPD. He was outside, had 3 HP and was in the same square as 9 zombies. I was 2 exp away from being able to buy diagnosis, so I figured that instead of letting the MOB have 'em, I'd get him, get rezzed, buy the skills I needed to heal people more efficiently, and apologize to him. It may seem cold, but I figured it was more honorable than getting eaten alive by the other zacks, and that I could rez and heal him later. Unfortuantely, I am an idiot and forgot to put him on my contacts list, so I couldn't find and rez him once I had been rezzed.--Sean Connolly 01:35, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

I'm gonna kill that bastard Otoole next time I see him! He came in, accused me of murder, and killed me! The one time I hurt someone another survivor (well, one who wasn't PKing people) was when I killed him. I've been alive or elsewhere during the recent raids. I'm not a PKer, but I have a strong taste for vengeance. He's lucky he's been catching me low on AP! I'm currently outside the building directly north of the PD. If you could send someone over, and leave fuller under EHB so I can get back in, it'd be appreciated.--Sean Connolly 06:34, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Blech. I just saw that. I'll be out to revive you and I'll deal with this problem. Please refrain from PKing Miles while I sort this out. I promise I'll come to a logical solution very soon. Thanks for your patience in the mean time.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 06:54, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
You've been revived. Try St. Aelred's Church as an entry point.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 06:56, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. I'll refrain from killing Mr. Otoole. For now. My limits can only be tested for so long before I snap and decide to pretend I'm Godzilla with an axe and a keg of rum. Speaking of, would you like any? A kind friend had some airdropped for me, and it'll kill my liver to drink it all mehself.--Sean Connolly 07:29, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Hey...

The real Sean F. Connolly is dead. However, in his will (don't ask why a 21 year old had a will beneath his pillow, no one knows) he instructed me to play his urban dead character, disband The Survivor's Republic, inform you of the occurence, and treat you with great respect. Looking forward to working with you.--Sean Connolly 06:59, 6 April 2010 (BST)

Ah, well, tell him I wish him all the best. And unencumbered by the burden of leadership as your character is now, if you're interested in joining a survivor group, may I recommend to you a nice little outfit known as CAPD? The company leaves a bit to be desired and the leader is a real dickhead, but the fringe benefits more than make up for any deficiencies.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 12:35, 6 April 2010 (BST)
I'd love to join the CAPD. ANything special I need to do or should I just change my group tag?--Sean Connolly 03:11, 7 April 2010 (BST)
Well you have a few different options. For the casual player you can just change your group tags, head over to Foulkes Village and check the Current Assignments from time to time. However, if you'd like to be more connected to the group (which is where all the fun is), I recommend you head over to our forums and introduce yourself as the new Sean Connelly. I'll set you up as an officer, give you a shinny new badge, and you can join us on our current mission which is uber secret and stuff. If you inherited Sean's wiki account then perhaps you could ask him about his account on our CAPD forums. He's already registered there. :) --GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 03:42, 7 April 2010 (BST)
A few things. I have no idea where the forum is, Sean is dead so I can't exactly ask him anything, and from what I remember him blabbering drunkenly about, he was part of the brawl, both online and offline.--Sean Connolly 03:52, 8 April 2010 (BST)
Hmmm, let's see here. Now, I realize that Sean is "dead", for the purpose of this game and such. But I can't imagine that the physical person who played him is actually deceased and left a will under his pillow instructing the inheritor of his Urban Dead account.
However it's clear from your writing style that the current user behind Sean is different than the original. Now, our forums are here. The thing is, Sean already has an account over there as an ally of CAPD. But without knowing his password there, you won't be able to log on to the forums. Perhaps you could try a seance and solicit the information from his lingering spirit?
Consider this the "get item quest" necessary to gain entrance into the castle =) --GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 12:02, 8 April 2010 (BST)
Yeah, I know it's hard to imagine, but Sean was always a weird guy. Apparently, he was also the kind of guy who tackled bank robbers who aimed guns at kindergarteners. And no seance is neccessary, even before he died, he posted any passwords he trusted us with on a microsoft word document.--Sean Connolly 03:32, 9 April 2010 (BST)

A reply.

Thanks for that. I'll be sure to use it. :)

Well I'm the new leader of MMS, and we've noticed him torching a few generators here and there. We were wondering if there was any sort of talks that could be conducted (seeing as you don't like to be combat revived, and MMS uses those frequently).
Also, we're throwing an insane party to celebrate our new leaders in about two weeks. Lelouch vi Britannia is helping make Ridleybank green_ and gives Achievements 23:10, 15 May 2010 (BST)
Hey congratulations on your new position as leader. *Pops a champagne bottle* Unfortunately, the thing about Zednik is, I play him completely for the benefit of zombie-kind. It wouldn't really be fair to the "zombie side" if pulled my punches, just as it wouldn't be fair for CAPD if I didn't spend all my AP helping survivors.
The good news for you is that I don't often get combat revived, and when I do, someone will eventually hunt me down and put me back on the street. I hope you don't take it personally towards you or your group. I'm just doin my zambah thang! Cheers.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 11:42, 16 May 2010 (BST)
I completely understand; however, I still offer to make a special mention to my members to avoid reviving your character, if you think that would be best. Escape write-ups

I have one in the works, although my direct involvement only started when the zombies started testing the cades at Ellicott Place and I set up the tinychat. I'm slightly adverse to making it public, I figure it'll get widely slated by the zombie community, much like the movement itself, but I'd be happy to share it with you if it gets completed. Captain Video also mentioned writing an account of Escape too, which would cover it from the start, but I'm not sure if it's finished. --BOSCH 02:35, 16 June 2010 (BST)
