Stanbury Village is a suburb of Malton, located in the center of the city. 'The Village' (as it is known to locals) is one of the most historically interesting suburbs in Malton, as much of its architecture and natural beauty was preserved despite its central location near Malton's blighted, heavily industrialised inner city. The distinctive character of the Village was protected thanks to the religious foundations of St. Maria's Church and St. Augustine's Church, as well as the extensive landholdings of the nobility and other aristocrats whose families had lived here for centuries.
However, before the outbreak modern Stanbury was relatively unremarkable, mostly visited by patrons of Nichols Mall and its famous Kilt Store, whose presence reflects the Scottish ancestry of many of the Village's lordly inhabitants. There was a steady stream of local gossip caused by the resident billionaire and Necrotech founder Willum J. Kersley, but his mansion in the South-East is now ransacked, the onyx walls and countless hot-tubs marred with dried gore, the cellars gutted by fire and littered with unidentifiable equipment. Several sites in Stanbury were planned for development and urban renewal, but since the outbreak these have simply lain empty as wasteland.
Records of Stanbury history have been recorded in books, in the Brome and Stribling Libraries, as well as in artefacts found in the Batson Museum. A few passages of Stanbury Village history of variable reliability can be found here.
As a central location it is prone to repeated re-conquering by various human and zombie groups, but its proximity to Ridleybank makes it generally quite unsafe for survivors.

NecroWatch reported in from the Went Building today. A recent NecroNet scan had revealed that there were 79 zombies within scanning range of the facility. Of these numbers, 19 zombies were at Lorenzo General Hospital, 8 zombies were at the Cabell Arms, 5 zombies were at the southwest corner of Kersley Mansion, while 4 zombies could be found at the Went facility itself, the Betty Building, and the southeast corner of Nichols Mall. Of note, 3 zombies were standing at the Yeoman Park revive point. Meanwhile over in Roftwood there were 7 zombies at the Greenhow Building. The remaining detected zombies, which were grouped in 1's and 2's, posed no serious threat to any other specific locations. --Mobius
