Misunderstandings and Features
These are reported "bugs" that have been noted as misunderstandings about how the server and game handle things, and not actual bugs. While it might be preferable to have the script output changed in favor of clarity, there is no harm done to the integrity of the game bar perhaps some confusion.

I was able to see the HP values of survivors while inside Rolls Cinema. As you know, cinemas are listed as Dark buildings, and if the building is dark, HP values should not be visible. Screenshot |

Zombies with Scent Blood are capable of determining HP values because their ability to "see" HP is based on smell, rather than sight. It was designed to be this way. Not a bug, I'm afraid. —Aichon— 04:50, 10 October 2010 (BST)
- I wish to prove this one a bug here by adding this: A.schwan had a survivor alt inside and was able to see the HP values as well (as he has pointed out on Skynet's irc channel). I'll see if he got a screen. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 04:53, 10 October 2010 (BST)

However, once I entered the Hind Bank in Ruddlebank, my attack percentages dropped significantly. Description: | Ok, simple, there is a ruined building (with doors) but a survivor has gone inside and barricaded it to EHB while keeping it ruined, thus making it an island to any survivor. This makes it almost impossible to keep a suburb safe easily because you need to spend extra AP on debarricading then repairing. So i was thinking that you couldn't barricade if a building was ruined. Other than that if a zombie group found how to use this to their advantage it would be hard for survivors to keep a suburb maintained. |
Discussion

Description: | Standing outside Club Shelley in Nixbank. As seen from the nearby Deakin Alley PD it is ransacked and ruined, therefore a perfect exit and entrance point for me. I left through this building, and was left outside due to the ruined state of the building. BUT: The building tells the following: You are standing outside Club Shelley, an imposing concrete building surrounded by railings. The building has been extremely heavily barricaded - you can see no way to enter. Through the broken windows, you can see that the interior of the building has been ruined. Lights are on inside. The same for Edghill Hotel. Smells like a building bug, since I cannot enter the building. Sadly this means I am stuck outside as well, looking for a bug free building as VS or less to get inside... Sadly I lack screenshot programs, therefore I cannot provide this. |
Discussion
Not a bug, or at least I don't think it's considered as such, the zombie was barricaded in before ransacking the building. Building status(barricades or not) doesn't matter when ruin/ransacking, just if there are survivors or not.--Karekmaps?! 22:00, 16 October 2007 (BST)
Hmm, I logged back, and now found 3 buildings in this state. So this is either a cunning zombie tactic to block buildings and can only have been established by a mixed zombie-survivor team, or a bug. Since I cannot enter since free running does not work (getting dropped outside), and the buildings being highly barricaded, this is right now open for speculation. Sounds buggy still, since it makes no sense that a building can be ruined and ruined at the same time. Else you could re-barricade ruined buildings as well, when barricades help to block intruders still. I thought ruined means totally wrecked and thus free to enter. Here is the screenshot I made a bit later using the browser history and installing a screen shot program: http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Image:Screenshot_added_afterwards.jpg ---((User:Fred Clever)) 23:52, 16 Ocotber 2007 (CET)
- there are quite a few ways it can be done, especially in multiblock buildings like Malls or Cathedrals. You can read more on it here. You can still enter the building if you drop the barricades to anything under Heavily Barricaded.--Karekmaps?! 00:19, 17 October 2007 (BST)

- Ah, ok, it still just looks wrong from the logical point of view (a ruined building should make the barricades fall apart IMHO). But when it is a feature, it for sure is a smart tactics to increase the griefing and trouble ;-) --- User:Fred Clever 14:54 17 October 2007 (CET)

I would like to add a bit to this. In Wykewood the Skilliter Motel [14,75] is at EH barricades and the building is ruined. What concerns me is that when I attacked the cades on the outside with my fireaxe or crowbar I got 3 notices of the cades dropping, yet it never changed from Extremely Heavy. On top of that it claims the lights on the cell mast outside are lit which leads me to believe the building has power. --Twright 19:09, 17 October 2007 (BST)

- True, but the when you click "jump" the text says "Are you sure? This will kill you." even if you're a zombie. As such, I'd say the text could be considered a bug, as it misleads (zombified) players to think that jumping will actually kill them. I mean, I prefer it how it is, as I like the thrill of jumping to my doom only to come out unscathed, but I see how it would confuse people. --Ms.Panes 03:36, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

I am having this problem as well... but a little back-story to go with this: My friend and I have been playing Urban Dead since it first opened in 2005, both have paid accounts, and really enjoy RPing with our characters. We are of the [Dual_Nature_Policy|Dual Nature] mindset -- we don't abuse our powers beyond what we could achieve if we were, say, on AIM together while we were playing across the country from one another. It's really frustrating to be penalized for sharing a home with someone who enjoys the same game where it would be perfectly fine if we weren't on the same IP. I don't mind the lowered search rates, or lowered hit rates, but the inability to have my character heal my friend's character after a jaunt around the 'burb is an unfair restriction in this particular circumstance. I want to know who to talk to in order to get special compensation -- I'd be happy to donate more to the game and we both have the years of active history to prove that we're not an up-start zerging pair. Easy solution you'd think? But no. As, if I continue to add people it will add other profiles without saying I'm logged out. Also the amount of time that has passed does not seem to matter, it will not let me add these certain profiles to my list. I noticed this with my Philosophe Knight and now with my Death Cultist. As it's happened with two separate characters of mine I'm thinking it's an error with my set up. I'm running Firefox 2.0.0.16 and UD Toolbar and UD Widget.
Thoughts? -- . . <== DDR Approved Editor 15:38, 30 August 2008 (BST)
The problem here is that you're logged into www.urbandead.com and attempting to add a profile from urbandead.com, or vice versa. This is not a bug, but rather an effect of the way cookies are implemented for UD. Just add or remove the www. from the URL to add the profile to the correct account.
You can use these two domains to keep two different characters logged in at once. If you also access the site by IP, you can have a third. Handy for keeping an eye on one character while playing into another. ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾᚨᚾᛏ 03:13, 31 August 2008 (BST)

Browser Issues
These are problems that occur clientside - Kevan can't influence these, or cannot influence them without an effort that is not justified compared to the smaller problem. They might have to do with the browser you are using, specifically, or with plug-ins of that browser.
These are kept here so they are not continually reported ad nauseaum. Accordingly, please do NOT remove any entries without stating a reason on the discussion page - otherwise they might just get restored again for the purpose mentioned above. Removal is justified essentially when the lack of future reporting can be somewhat guaranteed - for example if you know for sure that a bug with a plug-in/browser in question has been fixed.
