20070920 Speaking Change

Acoustic Pie 19:55, 20 September 2007 (BST)

Suggestion type
Speech Change

Suggestion scope
Survivors and zombies with death rattle

Suggestion description
Simple one (unlike most of my other suggestions), not sure if it's a dupe but i couldn't find a record of one. Anyway the idea is that when you type something into the speech box and hit speak, someone may have spoken in the time that you were writing. SO i suggest that a message comes up like 'You attempted to speak but someone got there before you'. Then it shows your orignial message in the box without wasting an AP. It means that you wouldn't waste an AP if someone said the same thing as you and it gives you time to change your message. I don't see how this could possibly aid survivors over zombies as the same rules would apply to the zombies.

Keep Votes

  1. Keep Author Vote
  2. Keep Pretty minor change. Don't see why not.--Seventythree 19:56, 20 September 2007 (BST)
  3. Yay Small, simple, not totally useless. I asy whay not? BoboTalkClown 20:12, 20 September 2007 (BST)
  4. Keep - I like it. Also, I adamantly demand that Sockem's vote be struck on the basis that SA's "la la la" vote was struck in the Infectious Bite thingie, and SA is much cooler than Sockem :D. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 20:53, 20 September 2007 (BST)
  5. Keep - Because i can vote without giving a justification too. And now for my justification: Albeit Kevan has more important things to do (or so we assume), it would be useful when having a conversation with someone. --Kikashie ELT 21:07, 20 September 2007 (BST)
  6. Weak Keep - I don't see this becoming number 1 on Kevan's "to do" list, but if he's got spare time... why not? --Steakfish 02:08, 22 September 2007 (BST)
  7. Keep Ha, Ha, Ha, These noobs who voted kill don't have an idea about what they are talking about... "#Would turn spaming the screen with useless junk into a valid game tactic. "Hey, I am awesome!" "Hey, I am awesome!" "Hey I am awesome!" Important information will be unable to be posted.", Oh please... --Kaynex 20:43, 27 September 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - Simple or not, small or not, this is kind of useless.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 20:10, 20 September 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill - You attempted to speak, but fail Are you serious? Useless. --~~~~ [talk] 20:57, 20 September 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - Or you could implement useful stuff... --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 21:14, 20 September 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill - Retarded and I don't want to retype stuff.--  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 21:15, 20 September 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill - It's an ingame Wiki Edit Conflict. --Sonny Corleone RRF DORIS CRF pr0n 21:36, 20 September 2007 (BST)
  6. Kill - doesn't really make sense. --Pavluk A! E! 22:06, 20 September 2007 (BST)
  7. Kill - I don't follow why someone else talking should stop me from talking.--Actingupagain 22:09, 20 September 2007 (BST)
  8. Kill - As the above kill voters. --Hhal 00:13, 21 September 2007 (BST)
  9. Kill - As above, I don't want to retype anything. perhaps this would better belong in a "polite society" game rather than a zombie survival game--Liam Degen 01:46, 21 September 2007 (BST)
updated my response. thanks to Shazzelim--Liam Degen 00:34, 22 September 2007 (BST)
  10. Kill - All due deference to other KILL voters, I do believe the Author addressed the 're-typing' problem by stating that the text you had just typed in would re-appear in the 'speak' box after getting the 'someone just spoke' message, thus making it easy to either resend the same message or edit it first. I am voting to kill because I just feel this is too minor to merit fixing. --Shazzelim 11:39, 21 September 2007 (BST)
  11. Kill - Unless someone removed IP hits from the game while I wasn't looking, this would, in areas with a lot of talking (or spam) eventually lock someone who keeps trying to say something out of the game, in addition to frustrating them. --Saluton 14:44, 21 September 2007 (BST)
  12. Kill - I don't witness this conflict occurring frequently. --ZombieSlay3rSig.pngT 15:38, 21 September 2007 (BST)
  13. Kill - Meh -- boxytalk • 15:44 21 September 2007 (BST)
  14. Kill - I pick e) all of the above --Ryiis 17:35, 21 September 2007 (BST)
  15. Kill Are we going to add a "If you'd like to make a call, please hang up and try again. If you need help, hang up and then dial your operator." message next? Seriously, I interupt people all the time. And talk when others are talking...~A`Blue`JellyTME*V*I*L*? 00:18, 22 September 2007 (BST)
  16. Kill -- Yes, yes, I wondered how we could all be on that podium at once, good idea *Cough* Not *Cough* --Your friendly neighbourhood psychopath, Lord Evans 07:31, 22 September 2007 (BST)
  17. Kill - Someone got to the human before you. 'RavenBlack's Vampires!' --Themanwhocares4 22:49, 25 September 2007 (BST)
  18. Kill - Among the other symptoms of the zombie plague is the complete inability to interrupt others while they are speaking. We might eat human flesh, but at least we have some friggin' manners. --Nosimplehiway 23:40, 28 September 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Would turn spaming the screen with useless junk into a valid game tactic. "Hey, I am awesome!" "Hey, I am awesome!" "Hey I am awesome!" Important information will be unable to be posted, thanks to the spammer. Also, as above.--ShadowScope 22:22, 20 September 2007 (BST)
Spam Cuz I can vote w/o giving a justification Sockem 20:20, 20 September 2007 (BST)
Vote struck due to no justification.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 20:18, 21 September 2007 (BST)

  3. DIE DIE DIE -too bad the suggestion isn't as funny as some of the votes...--AlexanderRM 01:22, 21 September 2007 (BST)
  4. Spam What prevents someone from speaking other than death in UD? Insane suggestion. --Karlsbad 01:54, 21 September 2007 (BST)
  5. Spam Somebody stole your ability to speak by speaking first?--Pesatyel 03:36, 21 September 2007 (BST)
  6. Spam - This makes absolutely no sense, what so ever. --Sonofagun18 08:01, 21 September 2007 (BST)
  7. Better Suggestion: Skill filibuster. Can be purchased by following character classes: Politician. Just stop it. "More suggestions per week" is mutually exclusive to "better suggestions". --Slightly Lions 09:18, 21 September 2007 (BST)
  8. Spam - Saves AP that would normally be spent on speaking.--Karekmaps?! 12:53, 21 September 2007 (BST)
  9. Spam - Seriously what are the hcances of you saying the same thing as someone else at the same time? And if someone says something it appears as "since your last turn" so this really isn't useful at all. --MarieThe Grove on Tour 16:05, 24 September 2007 (BST)
