20071203 XP Level Up
•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs
Suggestion type
Excess XP use
Suggestion scope
Anyone with excess XP...As well as characters who will never reach the maximum level
Suggestion description
This is more of a Version 2 to my original ages ago, which somehow I can't seem to find...
Right now, there's no use for excess XP, and many characters will never reach the maximum level of 42. What I propose is that the excess XP should be used to gain 1 level. This will eliminate the maximum level of the game. It will appear under both the survivor and zombie skill tree as Level Up. The skill can not be bought unless you're Level 20, due to the fact some characters max level will be in the low 20, like members of the Roftwood Assault Force, since they have a rule that prohibits anyone with zombie skills to join. In order to "Level Up", you must spend 1000 XP when you're Lv20-50, 1500 for Lv51-60, 2000 for Lv61-70, and the price will continue to increase by 500XP for every 10 levels.
Due to these changes, and the fact there may not be a maximum level, the stats page should have a small leaderboard for the top 10 highest level character. Or top 50. Whichever works.

- What? You expect me to spam my own suggestion or something? --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 20:22, 3 December 2007 (UTC) Ouch...scrolling through the old Previous Days suggestions page, I found my old one...which I removed...So...yea...you can call this a revised version. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 20:47, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- Keep - Whatever. -- John RubinT! ZG 22:06, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

- Keep - This actually does have a use, Group rankings are determined by the level of all of their members added together. That and it is a way to get rid of the excess Xp, reward older players(kinda), and would just be something fun to use Xp for without being game breaking like the suggestion Jon Pyre made and is trying to shill.--Karekmaps?! 00:42, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- Keep - Meh, sounds good. --Anti Gorefest5TMW!B! 00:46, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- Keep- Yup. I hate seeing Lv 41's all of the time.. it's so boring. --Darth LumisT! A! E! SR 01:15, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- Keep - Eh, I don't mind, it seems ok to me. Level me up, Scotty! --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 07:28, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- Keep/Change - Not pointless because it would contribute to the group ratings on the stats page. I'd rather have a static cost for the Level Up, though. Unlike many RPGs, in UD you don't earn more XP the higher level you are. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 07:55, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- Keep - only because stats of grousp are combined of players' levels --~~~~ [talk] 17:30, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Kill Votes
- It's just replacing one meaningless number with another. I would rather that xp actually goes towards something, like in my training suggestion. Maybe if the bonus levels did something for your character. --Jon Pyre 20:28, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- Um...your suggestion gives bonuses, which is a bad idea. My suggestion only increases your Level by 1. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 20:30, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - I actually would prefer a balanced system of small bonuses or something rather than an increase of level. Sorry --Ryiis 20:40, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - Because this training suggestion isn't a bad idea. This isn't bad, that is better. BoboTalkClown 21:17, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- I take ideas from the suggestions talk page and this is what I end up with...I thought you said you would vote keep? Or was that before all these revisions? --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 21:22, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

- Oh? And how so? --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 22:20, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - Levels are mostly cosmetic. If they mean something to you, that's your business, but don't expect the game to help you. In real life, people don't have levels. --Pgunn 23:23, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - OMFG dude! That guy is level 900! He must be so powerful! ... Er, wait. I like my xp. Big numbers... yay = higher chance of mudkip digestion. -- AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 01:56, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- OK...so no max level could be crazy...but it seems better then having infinite XP. Plus, the price of the "Level Up" keeps increasing by 500. I don't want to do the math, but to reach Lv900, it would take over 1000000 XP... --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 01:58, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- Mmm, ok so level 900 is unrealistic. But, it's a still misleading for low levels and a bit of deteriment "I have that many levels to do?".-- AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 02:01, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- Continue on talk... --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 02:08, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

- Kill - It's going to complicate matters when Kevan introduces more skills into the game. Ariedartin 12:06, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - I fear the only way to let more skills into the game is the great XP purge when they all get reset. This isn't a bad suggestion, its just my opinion. Couldnt you just limit xp's to that you need to get all skills? And just up the amount allowed by 150 for every new skill intoduced. --Rosslessness 20:48, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - agree with a helpful little gnome.--Zach016 00:24, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - I am against adding e-penis features to UD. How is this any different from the current system? Instead of a big number (XP), you'd like a smaller number (level)? You want to take points out of one meaningless number and put it in the other one? Give me a break. - Grant 08:01, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill/Change -There was something in the discussion page that was very close to this. It had some support, though there were a few problems pointed out and I'm pretty you haven't fixed any. Specifically my point was that you shouldn't spend 1,000XP for one useless level- I suggested that you wouldn't need to actually waste bucketloads of XP, merely having the XP would bring you up a level. --AlexanderRM 02:11, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- The "something" on the discussion page was this suggestion...And by just having XP bringing you up a level would lead you away from what I want this suggestion to do...Get rid of excess XP. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 11:23, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - Having lots of XP does not hurt your character any. As such, wasting XP for the sake of it is just dumb. Besides, having a high amount of XP is as good a way as any to measure your banana. It's just as long, and just as thick wether you're using inches (levels) or centimeters (XP) --Ms.Panes 05:08, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - Also, the extra XP might eventually be usefull, if any new skills are ever added. --Steakfish 04:04, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- That's true, but you'll be saving XP to level up. Obviously you'll have XP to buy new skills that may get implemented. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 11:21, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - Absolutely useless. - Rutherford 16:00, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - As Jon Pyre. Replaces one useless number with another. What's the point? --Mister Nathan Marbles 22:30, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - There is no point in this change. Give me more skills, and I will spend my experience. Until then, do not change the system. --Calypso 22:50, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
Spam/Dupe Votes
- Sorry to Spam, but level is pointless. I think that the level thing should either be dropped altogether (as it's meaningless), or split so that everyone has a survivor-level and a zombie-level. However, even that would be pointless as survivors have 22 skills and zombies only 20, so it wouldn't be comparable. Although that could be fixed. Also, I'd suggest that XP be split into survivor-XP and zombie-XP, so you can only spend your zombie-XP (earned whilst a zombie) on zombie skills. But that would be killed by people who say the only way to level up is as a survivor. I know, I'm discussing things in my vote. It shouldn't be allowed. --Funt Solo QT 20:33, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- Spam - 99% pointless. the 1% is for those who are scared of zombie skills, or the other way around... well, uhm, that is their choice, and their problem... if their group stats suck, oh well, who cares about that anyway, what is this a locker room banana measuring contest? meh. --WanYao 07:39, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
