Suggestion description
Anyone who's played IceBots will wish this were here. I keep thinking of that game because of the images they use to show your avatar. What if, based on what you wear, you had this image and you could set your avatar's fitness, for lack of a better term, from thin, welt muscle (barely any buff parts, you'll know what I'm talking about if you've seen the mixed martial arts fights on VS TV), slightly muscular, medium buff, ripped, Frankenstein's monster, beer belly, overweight, and ball (ridiculously fat it's unreal, you dig?)? It would add a bit of flavor, but I think it would take a while to get this into effect. Note: this is purely for flavor, nothing else. I ain't suggesting anything like Aliens or whatever.

Keep Votes
- Keep - Wow, a huge case of CNR from the voters. This doesn't say anything about uploading images. It's about choosing an avatar from a selection provided by the game. Or have I been eating too many wonky pills? --Funt Solo QT 09:33, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Week Keep - Because it's ok, but i just dislike it. UCFSD 17:04, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Keep - I've seen this work ok in other games, and this doesn't appear to be uploaded pictures. No spam there. Also, anything server load related = horrible reason.-- AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 18:51, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Keep - I like this because reading the profile of someone with every single clothing slot filled is really, really boring and most people are likely to overlook it. A picture is worth a thousand words. Also, players should have the option of not seeing other people's pics, with the current profile instead. This way, if their computer runs slower with the pictures, they can disable them. --Heretic144 00:04, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- Keep - uh... kill voters, this is not "uploading pictures," this is just getting an avatar similar to ones in gaia online or something else based on how fat you want to be, maybe what skin color you want to be, what gender you want to be, and what you are wearing... GAWD! --/~WOOT~\ 01:17, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- Keep - very nice idea, after playing Bitefight for a moment I started to apreciate the level of entertainment that seeing your companion / opponent brings. It would for sure require quite a lot of coding from Kevan to implement, but it wouldn't be useless job.--James beckerson 11:31, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
- Keep - Not uploading, but still adds flavor, nice.--Anti Gorefest5TMW!B! 00:59, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
- Online game avatar? I'm in. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 21:22, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
- Keep - A picture is worth a thousand words. --Heretic144 02:19, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Kill Votes
- Kill/Change - Similar to Druuuuu's point below - this would take away a bit of the imagination from the game. The biggest problem as I see it is this: Either (1) You have to limit the allowable profile pictures to be created by a specific template, or (2) You allow people to upload their own pictures. If (1), then you make everyone generically similar, and what about people who play as "Green donkey" or "a chicken"? If (2), you open it up for too much abuse and the need for censorship by Kevan. --Shoot 1st 03:36, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - True, everything said thus far. Better to strain imaginative juices than to ply on copy and pasted material from other sites which falls under copywrite infringement, and could contain abusive images. --Private Mark 04:30, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - for all these reasons -- boxy talk • i 06:50 11 December 2007 (BST)
- Kill - God no. Apart from all the reasons specified above the bloody game loads slowly as it is on my PC, selfish, I know, but still valid. Also adding profile pics to the map? Seems kinda ameturish to me.--SeventythreeTalk 12:23, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill/Change - Increase ability to describe your character by making the profile page bigger, for more text--CorndogheroT-S-Z 13:25, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill I don't think this qualifies as spam. Another Kevan creation, chore wars, has a few images you can set for your character. I just prefer it without graphics. It's weird to have graphics just for characters but for nothing else. --Jon Pyre 14:54, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - Having an Avatar would be interesting, but I'm not sure it is appropriate for a game which is truly "bare bones" when it comes to graphics. As was suggested below, you could put the Wiki URL for your namespace in your UD Profile, and have a picture for your character here. That way, if people wanted to see a picture or "avatar" of your character, they could. Many people on the Wiki have "avatars" of their characters (even if they are South Park-ish creations). --Ryiis 15:08, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - Leave it as text. It's fine as-is. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 18:56, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - We´r tweedy babbitts, we like the things the way they are, no bugger off! --the wallaby♥ 22:47, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Weak Kill- Meh. --Darth LumisT! A! E! SR 01:02, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- Weak-ish Kill - Good idea, but meh, you know? -J. A. 16:38, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - One word: Imagination. This is what keeps me playing; the idea of being able to decide things like how people look in my own way. AngelBlade 16:46, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
Spam/Dupe Votes
- Spam - One of the things so appealing about Urban Dead is that is all about using your imagination. That and it is very light on graphics, so people of all connection speeds can use it. This would slow it down, and decrease the unique, inherent charms of the game. Also, I fixed your template. --Druuuuu OcTRR 03:18, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Spam, rhymes with...- Damn! I wanted to be the first to spam this... --TriPolar 03:20, 11 December 2007 (UTC)\
- Hormel – Reading descriptions is bad enough, most days. You want a picture? Put it on your wiki page and link to it. ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾᚨᚾᛏ 07:40, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Spam - Horribly annoying.--Karekmaps?! 08:45, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Spam - We don't want to burden Kevan with actually creating all those graphics, now do we? Nor his bandwidth with serving them. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 09:56, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Spam - processing clothes description into a picture is a lot of work, for "just a flavor" purpose? huh?! also, as above --~~~~ [talk] 20:14, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- SpamGo create a MySpazz for your chracter and put the URL in your description. Iscariot 16:02, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- spam this to hell - this is a text based game... that is what i like about it... it encourages, at least in theory, verbal creativity ... a rare thing in this overly image-driven culture. and because making it text-based and old school was kevan's intent, that is why this is spam. --WanYao 10:22, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
- Spam - As much as I would love to see how trenchcoaters see themselves...WonYao is correct. This is text based. Besides, imagination is the fun part :D --Vandurn 14:43, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
