Suggestion description

Chain saws

A fun melee wepon would be chain saws you could fuel it with gas cans or electric powered from generator. Chain saws are by far the most commonly used anti zombie wepon in movies and video games and you could find them at hard wear stores

the chain saws would only last a couple of hits

I bet you one month's pay that for every movie you can name, I can name at least one more where guns are used. Therefore guns are the most commonly used anti-zombie weapon used in fiction. Also note within this post the use of capitalisation, speech marks, colons, apostrophes and hyphens - we call this correct use of the wonderful English language.
