20080124 Gore Covered Buildings

Suggestion type
Improvement
Suggestion scope
Buildings where survivors have died.
Suggestion description
We all know about the part in a zombie movie where a character enters a building and finds the interior completely covered in blood and gore. Clearly, a zombie attack just happened. In Urban Dead, survivors can use this to see if their safehouse is really safe. This applies to both ruined, ransacked, or repaired buildings that had all of the survivor population killed off by zombies.

After a recent (within 1 day) zombie break in occurs and all survivors are killed, the building description have this added:
"You are inside a factory. The doors to the street have been left wide open. Fresh blood and gore coat the walls and floor."

If a player enters a building where a killing occured earlier (more than a day to a week), a statement would appear saying this:
"You are inside a factory. The doors to the street have been left wide open. Dried blood and gore coat the walls and floor."

If a player enters a building where a killing occured much earlier (more than a week), a statement would appear:
"You are inside a factory. The doors to the street have been left wide open. Brown bloodstains coat the walls and floor."

Thus, a survivor can tell whether building is safe by about how long its most recent breakin occured. Stains, blood, and gore can be removed by a survivor once the building is repaired for the cost of 1 ap by pressing a cleaning button. This improvement will help survivors in choosing a safe building to rest in.

Keep Votes

  1. Keep - Like the flavor, although my vote might change if someone notices some significant flaw--CorndogheroT-S-Z 01:47, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
  2. Keep - Cool. --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 01:50, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
  3. Author Keep I think this would be great for flavor and improvement.--MikhailA 01:51, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
  4. Keep - Both my survivor and my zed like this. --PdeqTalk* 01:53, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
  5. Good - Good flavour, but I think the blood should disappear by itself eventually. --Themanwhocares4 02:06, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
  6. Keep - Been waiting for a suggestion like this that people would except--Zach016 02:08, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
  7. Keep - Although I think some distinction should be made between buildings that have one survivor killed off and those that have fifty. As the suggestion stands, the flavor text would be the same, as long as the one survivor was the only person in the building. --Heretic144 02:31, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
  8. Keep - Nice! --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 03:40, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
  9. Keep, but I have a question - Does the building have to be ransacked for this to happen or do all of the survivors just have to die? This is important, because you said that cleaning it up would happen after you repair the building damage. Bonus question, would that be a separate action (you could choose to leave the place messy)? --Uncle Bill 04:16, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
  10. Keep - As all above. I'm voting while in a rush, so I'll give my rationale a little bit later. ~AriedartinTalkA KS J abt all 05:12, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
  11. Keep - good idea, although i am not thrilled about my badass character with five shotguns having to push around a mop --Scotw 09:06, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
  12. Keep - Snow is able to be blood-soaked, why cant buildings be stained? doc crook 13:27, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
  13. Keep - i am cool with this idea. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 12:50, 24 January 2008 (UTC) ]
  14. Keep/Change - Add a couple more specific building-based descriptions and I am so for it. However, I think it should only be if zombies kill the people within, as people often use bullets. Either way is good for me. --Vandurn 14:06, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
  15. Keep - Good idea.Studoku 18:51, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
  16. Keep - Good idea x2. --Hhal 20:22, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - I'm surprised know one has voted kill/spam yet? I just don't like this suggestion, I don't want more random, pointless text on my screen <_< --/~Rakuen~\Talk Domo.gif I Still Love Grim 02:25, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
  2. Dupe - and I think it was Peer Reviewed, sometime before Xmas. No time now, I'll find it later. If I don't, then this vote won't count. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 09:00, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Dupe - http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/PR_Buildings:_Multiple_Types Found it on this page, only mentions bloodstains in buildings but its the same basic idea. Pvt human Incorrect sig (no timestamp) vote struck. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 18:13, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
RE: Sure, it is similar, yet that suggestion has to due with five people getting killed and blood appearing. I'm talking about the whole population of a building being slaugthered and the blood aand gore everywhere and it ends up marking the place.--MikhailA 12:42, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
re:'ing a vote is kinda bad etiquite. use suggestions talk, help and developement for this - BEFORE you go to voting. -- Jack S13 T! PC 17:43, 24 January 2008 (UTC) Non-author, non-voter Re. struck. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 18:13, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
  3. This is a Dupe and the link was provided, but here's my reason for Spam: When a building is under siege, the description of the building changes from it's regular description to a description about bullet holes and stuff. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 14:09, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
  4. Humourous--But too funny to be in the game. Magnum Odus 14:47, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
  5. Dupe - as above. -- Jack S13 T! PC 17:44, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
  6. Dupe - Clearly a dupe of PR_Buildings:_Multiple_Types#Bloodstains, which is slightly more detailed an interesting.--Karekmaps?! 21:57, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
