Suggestion description
Currently, there are several types of building in Malton which yield no items upon searching, no matter how many times you do it.
- Bank
- Office Buildings
- Cinema
- Museum
- Railway Station
- Tower
I suggest that these buildings be given an assortment of items which can be found, some useful, some useless, in order to give players more choices over where they want to search for items. However, the chance of finding items will, naturally, be lower than in Resource Buildings. Below is a list similar to the one above but with items and find rates for those buildings if this suggestion were to be implemented. I've also given a justification for each set of items.
- Bank: Newspapers (6%), Books (5%), Radios (3%), First Aid Kits (3%), Toolboxes (2%) - Banks would have papers with stock quotes and the like in them, books as manuals for things, radios for security purposes, First Aids kits to deal with minor injuries and toolboxes to fix electricity problems or left behind during robbery etc.
- Office Buildings: Newspapers (7%), Books (6%), First Aid Kits (5%) - Newspapers that people brought in to read at work, books as computer manuals and things and first aid kits to deal with injuries
- Cinema: Newspapers (6%), Mobile Phones (1%) - Papers with cinema times etc, phones as lost property
- Museum: Newspapers (8%), Books (7%), Radios (4%) - Old newspapers, Old books and radios for security
- Railway Station: Newspapers (6%), Beer (5%), Spray Can (5%), Fuel Cans (2%) - Miscellaneous rubbish left from before the evacuation, homeless people drinking and kids doing graffiti, Fuel Cans because its a railway station and there might have been a need to fuel the trains at some point
- Tower: As Office Buildings above
This is primarily designed to add some extra flavour to the game and give you some extra places to search and more targets for zombies.

Keep Votes
- Author Keep - My suggestion. My vote. -- Cheeseman W!RandomTalk 21:46, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- Keep - It has potential, but the FAK search is a little high, I suggest you lower the search chance or replace it with another useful item. --FXI 22:24, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- Keep/Fix - The percentages are a little high. --Private Mark 23:02, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- Keep/Change - cut the FAK find rates, otherwise it's good--CorndogheroT-S-Z 00:08, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Damn Good - Enough said. --Hhal 01:05, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Change - Make the resources a little scarcer. ----Secruss|Yak|Brahnz!|CGR|PKA||EMLN|Templates|RRF|RFTM|Crap|WHOZ||MU|GN|C2008||21:39, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Kill Votes
- Kill - These buildings already have their uses as safehouses. Plus, you can find shiny objects in Museums, making them not useless. --Themanwhocares4 23:12, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- Kill - Introduce these one at a time, sort of a line-item veto for the voters. Start with the train station, it's your stongest. --Heretic144 00:08, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Kill major buff for survivors. A lot of buildings shoud be 'non-resource'. For flavour, maybe searching offices, banks, (&streets) might produce useless items like newspapers, but nothing useful. Garum 00:38, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Kill - nah, I don't like it. --PdeqTalk* 00:48, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Kill - Pointless. Who would waste time searching in a non-resource building when resouce buildings have better yields? - Headshot Hal 16:07, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Kill - I like what you're doing, but I like to not only think of these places as safehouses, but also aid the overall balance - not every building HAS to yield something, and some yield too big a variety (malls and police stations come to mind).--Actingupagain 16:17, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Kill - The FAK rates are too high, and I think that the toolbox should be moved from the bank to the railway station. --Z. slay3r • Talk 18:03, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Kill - the rates are way to high, i like what you are doing though. great idea on Mobile Phones being found in cinemas --Scotw 20:13, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Kill - Lower the effing percentages, but otherwise I love it. BoboTalkClown 20:38, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Spam/Dupe Votes
- Spamtastic - I really don't see how this would work because the percentages are just way too high. I mean 5% for FAKs in an office building just won't work. I suggest you get this onto the suggestion talk page to sort them out. Also I could have sworn this is a dupe, but I can't find any links. Acoustic Pie 21:57, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- No- This offers too many places for survivors to find useful items, particularly FAKs.Studoku 22:10, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- Spam - The buildings aren't useless. The fact that you can't find anything in them makes them the least likely to be attacked, and thus the best safehouses. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 22:41, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- Spam - safe houses aren't useless. I *might* go for a suggestion for adding spray cans to railway stations, just because the flavour is cool, but otherwise - mostly spam. --Funt Solo QT 23:20, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- Haha - No, as above --/~Rakuen~\Talk I Still Love Grim 00:39, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Spam - For this horrible misconception; "Currently, there are several types of building in Malton which yield no items upon searching, no matter how many times you do it.". Every building does have search-able items, you can even find things outdoors.--Karekmaps?! 13:53, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Spam - Making FAK's universal completely sucks for game balance. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 18:10, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Spam - all points of suggestion are awful and terribly wrong --~~~~ [talk] 18:48, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
