20080528 Memories of Life change
John Ibans 13:21, 28 May 2008 (BST)
Suggestion type
Common sense
Suggestion scope
Zombies
Suggestion description
I personally believe that, unless you start as a zombie, the current Memories of Life could use a change. I believe that when you are killed by a zombie you should earn the memories of life skill. To prevent players from abusing this system (Getting a skill for doing little/no work) I believe that jumping from a building should not allow you to obtain Memories of Life, but that ONLY death by a Zombie/PKer grants this skill.
Clarification - Characters who start as Zombies still need to purchuse the Memories of Life skill, but players who start as the living and die in game become zombies with Memories of Life.

- Week Keep - No sane suggestion deserves to be spaminated. This is a sane suggestion. --UCFSD 14:21, 29 May 2008 (BST)
Kill Votes
- Kill - While i understand what you're trying to get at with the whole 'memories of life' thing, i don't want a mass of zombies walking around opening doors. That and no skill should come free. Actually this vote should really be a spam one, i'm just too nice. Don't worry i'm sure plenty of others will spam it up.--xoxo 13:24, 28 May 2008 (BST)
- Kill - It will just mean that no one starts as a zombie. Start as a fireman, stand outside, get eaten, free skill. And sign your posts! -- boxy talk • i 13:30 28 May 2008 (BST)
- Kill I see where you're coming from, and a lot of its about flavour, but wouldnt it be more realistic if say the zombie had to stand up for 10ap as well when its created? Which will never happen as it punishes players for starting as a zombie. As does this. sorry. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 13:33, 28 May 2008 (BST)
- Kill New zombie characters shouldn't be punished more than they are already. --Explodey 14:48, 28 May 2008 (BST)
- Kill - I understand the motivation, but I agree with Boxy. Plus if you want to get technical, -no one- actually starts as a zombie. Even the ones who start in the game as 'corpse' must have been human during the early outbreaks. --Tselita 15:30, 28 May 2008 (BST)
- kill i just dont like the free skill idea --Scotw 18:23, 28 May 2008 (BST)
- Kill - Free skills aren't good, and it sort of punishes people starting as zombies. --ZsL 18:45, 28 May 2008 (BST)
- Kill - It needs work, something to balance it out. You've got a basis for a good and interesting idea though, situational benefits/skills based on how you play or go through the game has potential.--Karekmaps?! 21:11, 28 May 2008 (BST)
- Kill - Doesn't make sense. Just a free skill. --PdeqTalk* 03:41, 29 May 2008 (BST)
- Re - Think of it like this... You start as a Zombie and get Vigour Morotis (I think I blotched the spelling) which is a... *drumroll* free skill for starting as a zombie. What is the difference between that and starting as a Person and getting memories of life? A zombie player would have to sacrafice the ability to hit more frequently for the abaility to open doors. Think of it like that. John Ibans 13:33, 30 May 2008 (BST)
- Kill- You are a moron if you think that this made any sense. --BKM 06:04, 29 May 2008 (BST)
- Kill Can resurrected zombies instantly get First Aid since they just learned all about healing? It's a bad idea.--– Nubis 14:29, 29 May 2008 (BST)
- Kill As above. Ioncannon11 21:10, 29 May 2008 (BST)
- Kill - Realism isn't always good Zig13 - 30/05/2008 at 07:37(BST)
- Kill So I can start with a free 2 skills? No. --Nitro378 T JNL 11:36, 31 May 2008 (BST)
- Kill Doesn't make much sense - why do I remember life merely because I am killed by a zombie, as opposed to any other death - and is just an excuse for an extra free skill. Fred Fredfredson 18:25, 31 May 2008 (BST)
Spam/Dupe Votes
- Spam - Makes no sense. The characters who start as zombies weren't born as zombies. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 13:27, 28 May 2008 (BST)
- Re Yes, I do know that. What I am thinking is that the zombies who "died" during the initial outbreaks would not remember what it was like to live, hence, no Memories of Life for those who start as Zombies. John Ibans 13:36, 28 May 2008 (BST)
- Spam - No free skills. No logical explanation ("would not remember waht it was like to live"!?!!). Game imbalance in favour of survivor newbies. Plain dumb. Note: this is my fifth time attempting to post my vote - I got four edit conflicts. Next time, Boxy, try to put it all in one edit. =] ~Ariedartin • Talk • A KS J abt all 13:33, 28 May 2008 (BST)
- Spam - As above, and the fact that memories of life is to a zombie what free running is to a survivor. Allowing a zombie to get it simply by starting as a policeman (which many zombies do) and then saying "eat me" to a zombie is completely cheap and stupid --Larspcus2 15:45, 28 May 2008 (BST)
- Brainz - No phr33 skillz. -- THELORDGUNSLINGER 16:42, 28 May 2008 (BST)
- Spam - Nah... bah -- 18:39, 28 May 2008 (BST)
- Spam - As above and below. Billy Club Thorton T! RR 18:58, 28 May 2008 (BST)
- This is why you save up a bunch of XP, and when you are killed, you can use that excess XP to buy zombie skills. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 19:58, 28 May 2008 (BST)
- Spam - The lack of logic in a simple post makes me fear for the future of the human race. -- . . <== DDR Approved Editor 23:54, 28 May 2008 (BST)
