Christmas Tree
NOTE: This suggestion has been implemented on 19th of December 2006 -- Cheeseman W!ASBTalk 22:13, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Timestamp: | Canuhearmenow Hunt! 01:26, 15 December 2006 (UTC) |
Type: | New Temporary searchable item. |
Scope: | adds some good holiday flavor! |
Description: | The Christmas tree (Or holiday tree, your pick) will be a searchable item starting from December 18th to December 25th, and would be found at a rate of 3% Hardware stores, 2% Buildings, 2% Schools, 4% Churches, and 2% Cathedrals. The Christmas tree would be a 3 space item, and would be "Set up" Like a generator, the message being "You are in building so and so, there is a bare christmas tree set up." This would obviously be a seasonal flavor item, and also the possibility of a game of "see who can keep a tree up the longest" because they are attackable, and effected by Ransack. Also you can find "Tree Decorations." A 2 space item that is found at 3% Hardware stores, 5% Churches and Cathedrals, and 4% Schools. When added to a christmas tree in an unpowered building it says "Blah blah blah, there is a unlit decorated christmas tree." And when powered "Blah blah blah, there is a lit up christmas tree." Now please remember that this is purely for flavor, and designed so that veteran players can't horde trees without giving up serious space. Also can add some possible game objectives (Spread cheer to Ridleybank!). |

Kill Votes
- Kill - people should be able to smack each other with tree/choke each other out with lights for a low amount of damage. And, zombies should be able to do something too, like have a menorah (all zombies are jews yaknow!!) --Poopman9 23:18, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Kill - waste of AP, this is an emergency situation we have here people! (And if I see a fat man coming down the chimney... well, where's one of those flame thrower suggestions when you need it!) -- boxy T L PA DA 09:50, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

A Solution To Necronet "Dead Zones"
Timestamp: | Jon Pyre 08:40, 15 December 2006 (UTC) |
Type: | Improvement |
Scope: | GPS units, Necronet Access |
Description: | Due to the random distribution of necronets there is a large area of the map that doesn't appear on any necronet map scans. Here's a solution for these neglected areas.
Necronet scientists are starting to use the equipment in buildings equipped with cell phone relay towers to dowload necronet data onto their GPS unit map screens. I suggest if you have Necronet Access and click on a GPS unit in a powered cell phone tower building a NT map centered on that location appear. Since every suburb has a cell phone tower this would expand Necronet coverage to all of Malton. And it'd give GPS units a purpose. |

- Keep This would ensure that Necronet could be used throughout the city. --Jon Pyre 08:41, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

- Kill - I don't like the idea of adding 100 additional places to read out NecroNet data. --IrradiatedCorpse 16:49, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Kill GPS units have a purpose, they tell me where I am. You're fixing something that isn't broken. --Burgan 18:31, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Kill - as per corpse. And GPS units do ( or will soon have) a purpose, you can throw them at each other/walls in frusration!! WOOT!! --Poopman9 23:20, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Kill - As per Funt. –Xoid M•T•FU! 05:06, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- Kill - Necronet dead zones are good. They offer zeds a place to safely hide.--J Muller 05:33, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
Spam/Dupe Votes
- Spam - In attempting the same idea, and having it soundly rejected, I was actually persuaded by voters that having gaps in the NecroNet coverage is a good thing. It creates blind spots where zombies are safe from detection, and thus adds tactical variance. (As a small side note, there are already eight suggestions in Peer Reviewed that give GPS units a purpose.) --Funt Solo 09:42, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Re Your suggestion introduced a mobile scanner that could be used outdoors but with a reduced range. This just ensures there'll be at least one point to scan a suburb the normal way. And while there are lots of GPS unit suggestions none of them have been implemented yet. Maybe Kevan doesn't like any of them, so we should keep throwing out ideas. --Jon Pyre 15:21, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Re - Yes, but the key issue of my complaint was that having blind spots adds tactical variance, and this suggestion removes it. A point you've failed to address in your pointless Re. Please, on this occasion, adhere to the rules of this page and don't double-Re me. --Funt Solo 15:41, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

- Spam - I like not having Malton on the necronet map.-- Mr yawn 15:24, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Spammy spam spam - I don't think we need all of Malton covered, and GPS units already have better suggestions--Ducis DuxSlothTalk 00:52, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- Splam I agree, the Necronet can use a bit of tweaking. This is not a tweak. This is a full-blown nipple-twist of a suggestion. With pliers. -- Andrew McM W! 00:03, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

- Keep - well, Mr. Funt Solo, all your votes today have been spamms (imagine that) =-*( but i think this is a good idea, but you should have to be a certian lv to use it. --Poopman9 23:22, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
Kill Votes
- Kill - Searching by foot would run up to 9 AP, so would it have an AP cost? Would it be usable both while indoors and outdoors? Would it show open and closed doors? How about the torn fences in junkyards? Zombies can't build barricades, but this is a sensory skill, so would this work for zeds? There are lots of unaddressed issues here; I would very much like to see those issues ironed out on the discussion page.--Nosimplehiway 14:03, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Re You are right, add activation costs of perhaps 5 AP.Nadada 17:10, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Kill Overpowered but not ridiculously overpowered to the point of being spam. --Jon Pyre 15:22, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Kill - Same thoughts as Jon Pyre. --Zombie slay3r 15:39, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- kill I'm thinking that my next alt will be someone who goes around overcading places. This would make that all too easy. Asheets 16:28, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Kill - As Pyre. --IrradiatedCorpse 16:36, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Kill- Although I think this has enough merit to warrant a redo. Maybe instead of seeing exactly the strength of a barricade, you just get a rough description (None, weak, strong, very strong). Maybe even let it cross over to an extent.--Grigori 00:02, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- Kill - Interesting... This suggestion only has one sentence... Well, at least we know how much thought you put into it. --Wikidead 00:30, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- Kill - Elaborate.--J Muller 05:32, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- Kill - I'd keep this one, maybe, if it was more fleshed out. Maybe restrict it to only being able to view barricades from tall buildings, with binoculars -- boxy T L PA DA 09:47, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- kill Basically, this is free AP for the posessor of the skill. Almost spam-worthy. Asheets 17:08, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
Spam/Dupe Votes
- Spam - never mind the question of how this person can miraculously see through walls and buildings, this is overpowered. I don't disagree I'd find it very useful, as a survivor stuck outside, but that's not really the point. I'd also find it useful to be able to destroy all the zombies in a 10-square radius. Nukes from orbit - my next suggestion. --Funt Solo 13:46, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Re to look out of a window and estimate the strength of the barricades of the building next door isn' that difficult... Nadada 17:10, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Re - Well, I can't even look out of the window and see how many people are standing outside. Still, the barricades are inside the buildings - so how do you see inside the building next door? Nevermind that this would require X-Ray Vision, it's also just far too powerful. --Funt Solo 18:23, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Now every survivors and zombies can see the cades level....with this....only those who have this skill can see it....this makes newbies time a lot harder. --Slice 'N' Dicin' Axe Hack 14:17, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Re I didn't suggest, that they loose this ability, just that a Construction Expert can see the levels of neighbouring buildings, too. Nadada 17:10, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Spam - Exactly how does this work? X-ray vision FTW!!--Mr yawn 15:26, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
