It is a Pre-Vietnam era M-16a1 w/a 10 round magazine (It jams if you put 10rounds in it- leave 2 out). You can tell it's version because the flash-suppressor has prongs (it was later changed because it kept getting caught on vines in the jungle), it also has no "forward assist"- later added because of the high malfunction rate in combat.. (They didn't carbonize the bolt which led it overheating, expanding, and seizing up). They later removed the full automatic option and replaced it with 3 shot burst (well after the vietnam war) Oh ya, it fires a 5.56mm ball Nato round (That's a .223 caliber for you civilian types).Note: always make sure your last 3 rounds are tracers!!--Airborne88T|Z.Quiz|PSS 02:10, 25 March 2008 (UTC) 3.
