20080420 Wall of Shame
Thekooks 17:24, 20 April 2008 (BST)
Suggestion type
Improvement
Suggestion scope
Everyone.
Suggestion description
What I suggest is relatively simple. There should be a page on the Urban Dead site, much like the Stats page, that displays characters which have tripped the zerg flag. It would simply be a table with the character name and profile.
Why would this be helpful?
Well, it would be helpful to characters that are having terrible hit or search rates to see if they have tripped a zerg flag. It would be useful for the UD community to se who has tripped zerg flags so they could inform them of the rules, and possibly "punish" the character for tripping a zerg flag.
But I once tripped a zerg flag by mistake?
That is fine, as soon as the zerg flag goes, your character will be removed from the list.
This wont stop zergers!
That is correct, this wont stop zergers, anybody wanting to zerg can still do it easily. However, hopefully this would encourage people to pay closer attention to their alts to stop them going near each other.

Keep Votes
- Keep - This would never work out good for anything, but this is one of the few keeps you will get with this thing...more then likely the "only" keep your going to get.--Jamie Cantwell3 05:42, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- I mean look at all the kills it has, it's been ass rape to hell.--Jamie Cantwell3 05:43, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- Kills with really good points to!--Jamie Cantwell3 05:45, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- I mean look at all the kills it has, it's been ass rape to hell.--Jamie Cantwell3 05:43, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- Keep - But only to prove Jamie Cantwell3 wrong! Actually the idea does have some merit. Even though we all know it won't stop intentional zerging it might help with accidental zerging. Maybe. Anyway, enjoy the "pity keep." --Uncle Bill 05:48, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- Keep - Good idea. --Pgunn 12:43, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- Keep -Eh, I hate going with the flow. Dirty zergers all of you!!! I hope you die and you can't revive yourself!!!--Airborne88T|Z.Quiz|PSS 04:31, 22 April 2008 (BST)
- Keep - As long as the AOL people don't trip it by accident. --Heretic144 23:30, 22 April 2008 (BST)
- Keep - I've wondered in the past if I managed to trip the flag after going through a long drought. This would make it so users could check on themselves. It also allows people to let friends know if they tripped the flag. I also don't think that people would get harassed excessively for having tripped the flag. --TagUrIt 05:09, 2 May 2008 (BST)
Kill Votes
- Kill - Mostly as Karl...although I do believe that AOL users SHOULD be punished. Billy Club Thorton T! RR 19:13, 20 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill - No one who already zergs foolishly will be dissuaded by being called out. Rudiger Jones 19:48, 20 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill - As above and below. --Druuuuu OcTRR 20:09, 20 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill - As Red Rummers -- 21:22, 20 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill - Shit sucks. Good zergers don't trip the anti-zerg flags because of OMGPROXIES! This would only encourage trolling, griefing and tons of drama.-- ZZ 05:30, 28 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill - Zergers generally know what they're doing. This would be feedback on whether or not the zerg flag has been tripped, resulting in zergers making throwaway characters just for the sake of testing the limits. Absolutely not. Leave the limits obscure. --└Frozen┘┌Flame┐ 23:39, 20 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill- As above.--Studoku W! 00:34, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill_ As above, and below.--Keldoclock Encon 03:55, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill This would give justification to zerg hunting vigilantes. --Jon Pyre 04:39, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- No shit? I don't see how that in itself is a bad thing.--Thekooks 18:20, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill - This would not be an efficient way of doing anything. If you think people who trip the zerger flag should have their characters killed, then why bother with the extra step? - Grant (talk) 05:01, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- As I said, it would act as a resource for players. I'm not saying "people who trip the zerger flag should have their characters killed".--Thekooks 17:43, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill - As Frozen Flame and Jon Pyre. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 11:55, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill/change - It might be amusing to know what percent of Malton is currently on the zerg flag, or what percent has ever tripped a zerg flag, but I really don't think it's good to post a list of every individual that's on it. --Ms.Panes 12:13, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill - as anyone who made a good point--CorndogheroT-S-Z 13:36, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill - as above and below. It could also help zergers by showing that their characters have tripped the flag (if they didn't figure it out already). --ZsL 17:55, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill but with much sympathy - Oh god... i'm voting against something which would put a black stain on zerging... I like this idea, really I do, for the same reasons that Uncle Bill likes it. And i know you gave a few good reasons for it too. But I agree also with Rudiger Jones and Zombie Slay3r. Plus there's too much likelihood of people accidentally zerging and as a result getting killed by hordes of anti-zerg fanatics before they know what's happening. Please convince me otherwise because I'm feeling quite ashamed of myself right now. Oh... and Billy Club Thornton's kill vote made me laugh way too much to be healthy, but he had a good point too about the AOL users being even more penalized. Even if they deserve it for choosing AOL. --Tselita 19:13, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill - This would help intentional zergers and be used to grief people who trip the flag by accident. Great idea, but I don't think it would work out well. --Jasonjason 21:42, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill - This is stupid you're stupid etc. --אֲבִיּוֹנָה 01:19, 22 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill, Unfortunately - *sigh*... I only wish... --BoboTalkClown 21:38, 22 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill There is no Hall of Fame for maxed out survivors - why immortalize cheaters? --DCC 19:58, 25 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill - People triggering the zerg countermeasures unintentionally shouldn't be punished like this, even if we catch the real cheaters and white glove zergers. --Starplatinum 05:45, 30 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill - As everybody else. --Vandurn 20:25, 30 April 2008 (BST)
- Kill - But spam isn't a strong kill. Bobo's right, though maybe a bit loud. --UCFSD 17:52, 5 May 2008 (BST)
- Kill - As Vandurn. --Sgt. Napalm 02:41, 6 May 2008 (BST)
- Kill - It's heart's in the right place. It's just not quite going to work like that though. -- Cheese 23:29, 6 May 2008 (BST)
Spam/Dupe Votes
- Strong Kill - Folks who play on AOL often share IPs. It's but one example of the zerg flag being tripped accidentaly; the last thing we need is a lynch mob forcing players out of the game. Tripping the zerg flag is punishment itself; reduced search rates etc. Consistent zergers are already inneficient or will know a way round the zerg flags. --Karloth Vois TALK RR 18:04, 20 April 2008 (BST)
- RE: SPAM IS NOT A STRONG KILL --BoboTalkClown 21:51, 22 April 2008 (BST) Non-author reply. Billy Club Thorton T! RR 18:10, 29 April 2008 (BST)
- Spam - aye, and then another page of shame, for all the crappest suggestions, no? This would encourage misplaced mob justice within the game, and also provide (as has been pointed out) serial zergers with a method of testing the boundaries. You've seen The Godfather, right? "Never let anyone outside the family know what you're thinking". --Funt Solo QT 13:49, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- Aye, thats a good point right there.--Thekooks 17:43, 21 April 2008 (BST)
- Spam - there is a reason why Kevan doesn't make and doesn't want to make a notification for a player when the zerg flag is tripped. Now you want not just add this notification, but make it even public?.. --~~~~ [talk] 21:05, 22 April 2008 (BST)
- Spam - As Duke. This'll lead to experimentation by zergers, and then they'll figure out the exact rules of the zerging flags. Then they'll be able to use more zergs per proxy, meaning more zergs. Then we're all fucked because some zerger group (I'm not pointing any fingers...) will kill us all. Happy?*cough cough* -- The Lethal Trio [Tlk|NTCS|RRF] U! E! 16:26, 23 April 2008 (BST)
- Spam - As Duke and the rest, I'd rather not have zergers figuring out how to evade the flag. This suggestion will hurt WAY more than it helps, so it merits 'spam' in my opinion. --Howard Bentley 20:11, 23 April 2008 (BST)
- Spam - And shame on you for thinking of this suggestion, because it is short-sighted and fails to take into account the fact that many, many, many internet users around the world are confined to a relatively small set of IP addresses, and that two IP-sharers will inadvertently bump into each other. Damn, that wall will find itself full of far too many names than is useful. ~Ariedartin • Talk • A KS J abt all 08:59, 27 April 2008 (BST)
- Spam - as per above ... and it's pointless ... what we need are some stronger anti-zerg measures ... --WanYao 05:40, 28 April 2008 (BST)
- Spam – Workings of anti-zerg measures are not, should not and will not be made public knowledge. ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾᚨᚾᛏ 06:02, 30 April 2008 (BST)
