our conflict will extend beyond the game... and onto the wiki oh god no guys we should have accepted his terms. i'd much prefer to just fucking chill in three suburbs as a zombie instead of doing what we came here to do right guys? the idea of a "cessation of hostility" between survivors and the dead is fucking laughable. get the fuck out.
I shall smash the door and shatter the bolt,
I shall smash the doorpost and overturn the doors,
I shall raise up the dead and they shall eat the living:

There has got to be a better place for this. Anywhere really, ideas for the most suitable home until this can be expanded as an actual existing event and not a building timeline with one point? --Karekmaps?! 11:26, 3 April 2011 (BST)

- Perhaps we should leave it be until some more information is acquired... It's only been two days and it isn't hurting anyone. Although from what Nubis/DCC used to say, The Dead are notoriously anti-wiki so we may see ourselves through this whole dead resurgence thing without any 'official' news from the leaders/members. Surely there isn't any harm in waiting though. -- ϑanceϑanceℜevolution 14:16, 3 April 2011 (BST)
- I agree with Karek. I've stumbled over this page twice now walking back to the map room. What does Krazymouse think this is? Some sort of wiki where users are allowed to make pages? --Kirsty cotton 15:02, 3 April 2011 (BST)

Not this shit again. Maybe there's already a comprehensive page for the Dead. Something like this perhaps? We'll decide on our own whether or not we want anything more than that and we don't need you fucking retards deciding for us. That's what brought us here last time and I'm sure a few people remember just how well that went for everyone involved. Do you want that again? --Laughing Man 15:06, 3 April 2011 (BST)

Soooo...any suggestions where to move it? It appears that User:Anothergenericzombiee views this as a group page. Surely it is not. He reverted some edits as if the group had ownership, though. Maybe it's better suited on a subpage of The Dead 2.0 or even The Dead. If we keep it here, it is surely to be continuously "vandalised". ~ 20:27, 4 April 2011
- Move it to Krazymouse's userspace. He has claimed ownership of it by creating it, and as a userspace page, any vandalism can be easily verdicted if necessary. -- Spiderzed▋ 20:34, 4 April 2011 (BST)
- If it's not a user group page, then what is it? Something chronicling current events? Surely that should have an NPOV and not some wacky DHPD propaganda and speculation. If it's Krazymouse's then he can do whatever. --Anothergenericzombie 23:46, 4 April 2011 (BST)
- It appears to be neither of those things at this moment. I agree with Spider, this should be moved to userspace until it can be worked out what the article really is about. Krazymouses' userspace makes most sense. ~ 23:59, 4 April 2011
- It should be a neutral page chronicling current events, as genericzombie is saying. If it goes another day or so without any useful updates or input from any user, then put it in mouse's userspace, or better yet, just delete it. -- ϑanceϑanceℜevolution 01:46, 5 April 2011 (BST)
- I meant more along the lines of: Can we develop a developing article space for things like this or at least add some content to it? Probably should have been clearer on that, no real reason to move it to his namespace just needs to be made clear that this is a possible future article and wasn't sure if we'd made a new space for developing those. --Karekmaps?! 09:02, 5 April 2011 (BST)
- Yeah. I slapped on a "construction" template for now, should at least let people know of its... 'unofficial' nature? -- ϑanceϑanceℜevolution 10:17, 5 April 2011 (BST)
- @Karek, I kind of like the idea of a developing articles page or even a developing events page. Can you expand on that idea bit more? Would it tie in with UDWiki:Featured Articles/Good Articles? This may not be the place to discuss it but I'd be interested to see if we could take your idea somewhere. ~ 14:57, 5 April 2011
- Are you serious? Can an article not last a week in construction in a mainspace anymore? Sigh -- ϑanceϑanceℜevolution 15:11, 5 April 2011 (BST)
- @DanceDanceRevolution, my comment wasn't specifically aimed at this article or your use of the construction template. I just think a developing article or developing event page would help in situations where an author may not know how to expand their article or would like some tips on how to make it more awesome. If you want to use this article for an example, though, I see that most of the people commenting here are asking for the expansion of the article but nowhere do I see any good suggestions on how to do so. Karek's idea has some merit IMHO and I would like to see if it can be expanded upon. At the very least I'd like to see some suggestion on how the article can be expanded instead of focusing so much on why it should be expanded. ~ 15:29, 5 April 2011
- Just add stuff, not rocket science. We can start off by adding what's been happening, which I've been doing my best to considering I've not come across them in game (nor care) yet. -- ϑanceϑanceℜevolution 04:35, 6 April 2011 (BST)
- It's apparently harder than one might think. How many sad and lonely C1 articles do we find on A/D that could have been expanded at some point with some guidance?

- Again, this particular article may not need guidance to get going. Adding updates about what's been happening while keeping it NPOV is fine. At some point, some history can be added. I'll probably run into The Dead here in a day or so as they're moving into the Lukinswood area it seems. I'll put in some updates. ~ 15:01, 6 April 2011
- The DHPD should not be editing this page, and certainly shouldn't be making edits which aren't NPOV. As far as we are aware DHPD Officer 666 is nothing to do with us (in all fairness The Dead say he's nothing to do with them either). Is there going to be a wiki page for every time the Dead shit again? One that chronicles the color and shape? When they start trashing the town then maybe a page should go up, but until then what the fuck are you going to put on it? Stop wasting your time here. And yes, the Dead 3.0 is just as anti-wiki as before and I certainly as fuck don't want to come back here as me or as Nubis. Zombies in a zombie apocalypse? No fair!
"Ten months ago, I was first introduced to Urban Dead. A free online game about fighting hordes of the undead and surviving the zombie apocalypse… or so I thought. About seven months ago, I was excited to be playing the game, casually fighting zombies and barricading myself inside buildings while I slept. The game wasn’t and isn’t overly graphic, but I was more than capable of filling in the narrative myself. After getting myself skilled up a bit, four months ago, I decided to create a project for myself in the game, and a week later I had to modify that project due to what had become the glaring flaw in the game’s design. After I abandoned Munford, I took residence in the Pickford Cinema over in Osmondville…
At this point, I really wish I could say that things took off, the movie theater was made secure, we fortified the doors and beat back the walking dead, slowly spreading out to other theaters and growing a network of safe havens for people to pretend they are watching movies as the undead shamble out in the streets. I really wish I could.
The major design flaw in Urban Dead is that you, as a survivor, cannot win. And I don’t mean that in a “this is an MMO with endless grinding, a virtual world, and there will be no ‘You win! The end!’ screen.” sort of way… I mean that in a “There will always be more zombies because you can’t kill them for good because they are not NPCs, they are the other players.” sort of way.
A month we spend inside, making neighboring buildings safe, keeping the free running paths clear. Trips to the mall for supplies, gas from the gas station to keep the generators running… life was pretty good. Then a horde of zombies comes through, breaks down all the barricades, kills all the people, and makes a mess. Now, all us survivors are zombies. Luckily it doesn’t take too long to wander over to a NecroTech building with a revive point, but it does take nearly three weeks to get all those people revived (it takes 20 action points to make a syringe -but you can search for them and cut that down- and 10 action points to revive someone, after you spend a point DNA scanning them, so that 1 person, even if they already have the syringes, can only revive 4 people a day). It takes us another two weeks to get all the buildings back in good order, then the zombies come through again…
I don’t want to be a zombie. Obviously some people do. But when my game, as a survivor, is actually 75% of the time spent trying to recover from being killed… I would rather lose levels than this. Especially since I have no say in my deaths at all… they all happen when I’m offline.
I tried. I really tried. Its just not worth the frustration. I play games to be the hero, the guy that “wins”, not to be just another victim.
I’ll still be keeping my eye out for zombie games, and I still desire to make one… but for now, Urban Dead, as far as I’m concerned, is dead."

Happy Fun Times
The Dead walk the streets of Malton.
We know it as we hide and run.
We know that zombies with have their fun.
The Dead walk the streets of Malton.
Their time has come.
But see his cloak is tattered and torn.
His scythe is blunt, in light of dawn.
Amid The Dead, amid the groans
No longer do they walk alone.
A new age is born.
The Dead hides itself amid the crowd
That presses hard on barricade.
Every man in Malton needs a shroud
The Dead are here. The call is loud.
The Dead walk the streets of Malton tonight
They are coming.

The DHPD pulled out of the Hills weeks ago. I’m in the wasteland.
Between the idea
and the realitiy
I stumble across Brains Monroe.
Between the motion
And the act
He’s put down his shotgun, but I’m holding mine.
Between the emotion
And the response
He’s killed many, many of us.
Between the desire
and the spasm
I’ve only killed zombies.
Falls the Shadow.
The question is, can I pull the trigger?
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends

"Gabby, I'm glad I got hold of you. Have you heard about Marty?" "No, what about him?" Cat had come up behind Gabby and caught hold of his hand. "What about Marty?" "Dead. I'm sorry Cat. I thought the news would have already reached you"
"Oh no!" Cat cried. "Marty is dead in a town where people can come back from the dead by STANDING UP. Whatever shall we do?
"Gabby smiled broadly and slipped off his chair and onto the floor in front of her. He laid his chin on her knee and stared up at her. This was a trick he had perfected during their fling - of course, he had generally used it to get sex out of her. Now, he was out for information."

"You're worried about what happens next, aren't you."
I closed my eyes. How to find my way out of this one? or whether even to bother. It might be easier at this point just to submit, at least it wouldn't involve any more pain.
"A little," I said.
He stepped forwards, so now his whole body was pressed against mine. I was sandwiched between him and the wall. There was a dull ache everywhere from the beating but at the same time I felt my body reacting to his presence because, heaven help me, it had been a long time. I think I whimpered though I'm not sure if it was from fear or desire or a mixture of both.
"Don't worry. I'm not going to rape you. If we fuck, it'll be because you asked for it."
He kissed me gently on the lips and I felt his breath ghosting across my skin. He lingered like that for a moment, maybe waiting for me to give some sign of reciprocation and believe me I was close to it. Confused thoughts about how sleeping with him might be a situation I could turn to my advantage, or at least be used as a let out from any beatings or further violence, but I hadn't quite reached breaking point.
What is the conclusion? I am a Toreador and I am pre-disposed to forming strong emotional attachments with people, especially the Tremere. As Crickhollow, our shady and menacing Nosferatu has said, I have "a pathetic need to protect and be protected." Perhaps he should have termed it "a pathetic need to love and be loved."
At the same time I am also pre-disposed to seek pleasure and I will take it as I can, either through blood if I trust someone enough or through sex if I do not.
Perhaps I am this way because I am Toreador, perhaps I am Toreador because I am this way. Perhaps my emotions and my clan are not connected. You asked me about the Toreador and love. This was my testimony.

Hi there, if you can list the specific suburbs in which your group is active that would be very helpful. Thanks!--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 13:41, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
- Pretty much Peddlesden Village, Chudleyton, Dunell Hills, West Becktown, Owsleybank and Molebank. You can tell by all the DHPD chumps we leave rotting in the streets, typically after their latest attempt to "reclaim" Dunell Hills from our tenacious and permanent grasp. Also if this wiki has any semblance of truthfulness to it, you won't put Dunell Hills down as a suburb that the DHPD is active in - because they're not. They come in for five minutes, repair a building or two, and then we kill them all and they run off to try again a week or two later. --カシュー, ザ ゾンビ クィーン (ビープ ビープ) @ 23:21, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for your reply. I've updated your status in Dunell Hills as confirmed. Of the suburbs that you mentioned, you were only listed on the wiki under Dunell Hills. If you want to add yourself to the suburb group listings for the other suburbs feel free to do so. The job we are doing is to confirm which groups are still active and remove the ones that aren't. So we aren't currently adding listings ourselves, but as I mentioned you are perfectly within your rights to do so yourself.
- As far as the listing for DHPD, they have been confirmed for Dunell Hills for reasons which I will explain. They way we seek confirmation is to contact any groups that are listed in a suburb (just as I've done with you), and take them on their word that they are active if they respond within the given time-frame. While this method may not result in complete truthfulness, it is the least controversial method that can be applied within a reasonable measure of manpower and impartiality.
- In theory we could garner more accurate data by creating accounts in all the suburbs in question and then monitoring the suburbs for a month or so to see if the groups are truly active, however this would be extremely time-consuming. Rather than get into disputes over who is active where, we've decided to just stick with this method for now, at least until something better can be devised. I hope you find my explanation to be adequate, and thank you again for your response.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 18:57, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

The End result
The Dead are annihilating the city. What does everyone think the end result will be? Not having survivors to kill will be boring. Do you think Kevin will rebalance the game as a result of this? -Li2 19:59, 13 May 2011 (BST)
- Assuming it doesn't stall out I foresee Kevan either resetting it all( basically a brand new city) or just having about 50% of every standing zed revived under the premise of "Military actions." Now it'd be interesting to have every non-rotter zombie revived and watch that play out.. 21:37, 13 May 2011 (BST)

- Ah, I thought I had read that it was once a day somewhere. Honestly have never paid much attention to the timestamp. So do ya'll think Kevan implemented higher search rates or was it always built in for times when so much of the city was in ruin? People have suspected for a while that burb ruin states affected search rates. ~ 01:50, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
- It's probably affected by the ratio if you ask me. -- ϑanceϑanceℜevolution 02:48, 14 May 2011 (BST)
- I believe syringe rates have been based on the Survivor:Zombie rate for quite a while. Though I can't remember how I first heard about it, I believe we had it happen in reverse when survivor numbers were through the roof. It would be a very simple and clever way to maintain the game balance without constant manual tweaking, as the supply of syringes is basically determines whether survivors can hold a suburb.--The General T Sys U! P! F! 09:21, 14 May 2011 (BST)
- If it were based on ratio it would have kicked in a few days ago when we got it down to 15/85. This seems to have happened within the last 24 hours. --|||||||||||||||||||||||| 14:31, 14 May 2011 (BST)

- Huh. Spending my time as the Dead and a non-reviver Globetrotter made syringe hunting pretty low priority for me so I probably just didn't notice. I wonder if it was ever changed from the last March. Back then we got survivors down to 31% before the fix was in, and this time it's down to 14% so if it is ratio based it makes sense you can almost stumble over them without searching. --|||||||||||||||||||||||| 14:59, 14 May 2011 (BST)

- It probably does, but we will very probably never see it. When someone doesn't want to stay alive, brain rot/window-diving/standing out in the open take quick and easy care of it, so something like 80+% survivors is extremely unlikely given the rock bottom of dedicated pro-zombie players. --Oh, and vote on Project Funny, by the way. -- Spiderzed█ 11:27, 14 May 2011 (BST)

“ | Yes, this is just a simple built-in balancing mechanic, triggered by the overall state of the game - at the other end of the scale, search rates drop when survivors greatly outnumber the undead. If you want a thematic reason for it, the pickings are richer for an individual survivor when there are fewer of them around to do the looting, and when the suburbs are getting too comfortably repopulated by the living, it's harder for them to find something that's been overlooked by everyone else. | ” |

- Basically, less survivors = higher search rates = actually affects game. More survivors = lower search rates = doesn't affect much. Once everything is lit and barricaded and the zombie population is stupidly low what's the point in having to search for anything? --|||||||||||||||||||||||| 16:29, 14 May 2011 (BST)
- It kinda does affect the game, though not as much. Just to illustrate: It currently costs me +-12AP to revive one survivor with the near-certainty of finding a syringe. When Survivors:Zombies are near 50:50, it costs me +-32AP per revive. That's a significant difference and it means survivors will stay dead longer and killing emptying a NT full of survivors will have much more impact.--The General T Sys U! P! F! 16:49, 14 May 2011 (BST)
- Uhm General, that hasn't been correct since 2006. The average search rate in times of 70:30 survivors doesn't even get below about 12.5%. It's always more efficient to search than to manufacture and it's almost always less than 16 AP from search to revive. --Karekmaps 2.0?! 19:51, 14 May 2011 (BST)
- The way the RNG works means that it's perfectly possible to search 30 times in a row and find nothing, so I used the worse-case numbers of the amount of AP used for each. Another factor is: The status of a suburb as heavily ruined is actually sort-of helpful to survivor mobility because it provides zombie-maintained entry points; in prosperous times you could easily spend 5AP just finding an entry point. However, if you consider the guesstimated search rates then 25AP would probably have been and more realistic number from search-to-revive..--The General T Sys U! P! F! 23:52, 14 May 2011 (BST)
- Well, that's still actually pretty high. Especially since those numbers are from before the variable building search rates update that makes ruins search rates much better. What little more current data we have shows the rates to be roughly double that. The average find in 25 AP for syringes in the last 5 years actually ends up being about 4. Here's a useful discussion that has more detail on reasonable revive rates. Here's another one where Grim_s discusses the issue. --Karekmaps 2.0?! 01:15, 15 May 2011 (BST)
