20090806 Leftover Medical Supplies

BlueSpurt 02:27, 6 August 2009 (BST)

Suggestion type
Item

Suggestion scope
Survivors

Suggestion description
Whilst searching hospitals or infirmaries, survivors have a small chance to find "medical scraps". The item could also be named "medical supplies", "leftover medical supplies", "medical clutter", "medical junk" - anything like that, really. Anyway, the chance to find one instance of this item is slightly higher than the chance to find a first-aid kit. When the player has 3 or 4 (one of those numbers is randomly selected) "medical scraps", a message appears on screen:

Using your found medical clutter, you just about manage to pull together a first-aid kit.

  1. Kill - So if you were to find these as often as FAK's...and 3 or 4 were equal to a FAK...this means you want to boost FAK search rates by 25-33%? No. -- User:The Rooster RoosterDragon User talk:The Rooster 02:36, 6 August 2009 (BST)
RE: - The point is you have to find them individually. It's very unlikely you're going to find these in quick succession. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by BlueSpurt (talkcontribs) 02:43, 6 August 2009.
RE: - So? That doesn't affect the numbers. -- User:The Rooster RoosterDragon User talk:The Rooster 03:16, 6 August 2009 (BST)
  2. Kill - Totally unneeded, FAKs are easy enough to find.--SirArgo Talk 03:08, 6 August 2009 (BST)
  3. Kill - It's not a bad concept, but you just need to tweak a few more parts, for example, the encumberance of these scraps. Maybe you should be able to choose to save how long you want before you can merge all the supplies? This had a lot that could be desired. Should have gone to DS. --ϑϑ 03:32, 6 August 2009 (BST)

  5. So I'm still finding FAKs at the same rate, but as an added bonus I'm getting these "pieces" that add up so that once in a while I get a free FAK. This is a freebie which is not needed. - User:Whitehouse 03:49, 6 August 2009 (BST)
  6. Kill - Inane FAK search boost. Not needed. --User:Axe27/Sig 04:13, 6 August 2009 (BST)

  9. Kill - As ^... great thoughts, but not needed in regard to FAKs. --Maverick Talk - OBR Praise Knowledge! 404 08:02, 6 August 2009 (BST)
  10. Kill - Nice attempt at adding realism but I could see it as an additional annoyance. - Zig13 - 6/08/2009 at 10:50(BST)
  11. Kill - I just don't see the point. User:Armpit_Odor/sig 00:37, 7 August 2009 (BST)
  12. Kill/Archive - Isn't needed right now, however it could be used to nerf FAK search rates later on. --Blake Firedancer T E RNL? P.I.S.I.T. 05:29, 7 August 2009 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. So we dilute FAK search odds for items that wastes inventory space until eventually yielding another FAK, which is what we were searching for in the first place. News flash: search rates are already subject to some amount of fluctuation. What the hell were you trying to achieve? Next time, please take your half-baked idea to Developing Suggestions before posting it here. ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾ 05:35, 7 August 2009 (BST)

  2. Spam - This suggestion is ridiculous, useless, and game-breaking; as pretty much everyone on the page. Lelouch vi Britannia is helping make Ridleybank green_ and gives Achievements 23:07, 10 August 2009 (BST)
  3. Spam - As Revenant. I'm bothering in part because he made such excellent points, in part because of the non-author re. --Visible One 01:27, 11 August 2009 (BST)
