Basic Info:

  • Office buildings owned by the company often associated with the zombie outbreak. From the outside, they are indistinguishable from other buildings, but characters with the NecroTech Employment skill are able to recognise them.
  • Among the internal descriptions found in NecroTech Buildings:
The NecroTech logo is set in the wall behind the front desk, and doors open onto powered-down computer rooms and laboratories."
  • If a generator is running inside the building:
"The NecroTech logo glows gently above the front desk, and doors open onto a number of brightly-lit laboratories and computer rooms."
  • NecroTech offices are tall enough for survivors to commit suicide from. They also provide a vantage point from which binoculars can be used.
  • Necrotech Buildings can be barricaded normally.
The Rowcliffe is the grim building on the right, with the US flag.

The NecroTech logo glows gently above the front desk, and doors open onto a number of brightly-lit laboratories and computer rooms.

Description

Necrotech

The Rowcliffe Building is a NecroTech facility located in the suburb of Pegton. It is the only such building located in the suburb. Staff at this building commonly revive undead survivors found standing at nearby revive points.

The Rowcliffe is a gloomy, neo-classical building in the style favoured by Mussolini; its windows appear to do anything but let in light, and its doorway does anything but welcome the casual visitor.

Security guards were ever-present before the appearance of zombies in Pegton, and since the outbreak the building has continued to be a heavily guarded and fortified outpost against the zombie scourge that may well have originated here.

History

Unlike other NecroTech facilities across Malton, the Rowcliffe was not disguised to appear as any other building, although one would only know its true purpose if one is a NecroTech Employee. This is because NecroTech (USA) was a sponsor of the Rowcliffe's world-class Genetic Research Laboratory, a key part of Pegton College, and used the status of the programme to legitimise its own research. The Rowcliffe also poached the best (i.e. least inebriated) students to conduct its sinister work, using donor organs (and allegedly live specimens, both volunteers and otherwise) taken from St Matty's. Rumours that Doctor Alexis Reed of Lamport Hills' Adalbert General was also mixed up in this organ donor scandal are unsubstantiated.

Residents of central Pegton were accustomed to strange sounds (emanating from student digs), strange smells (gusting from Webber's Sticky Stuff Co.) and strange sights, but the sounds, smells and sights of the Rowcliffe, especially after midnight on alternate Wednesdays, became almost too much to ignore.

Activity seemed to increase after the turn of the millennium, when oddly coloured smoke could be seen emerging from concealed stacks behind the roof's classical façade, and sounds of eerie moans and thumps were heard coming from deep below street level. The College authorities and NecroTech spokesmen blamed freak atmospheric conditions in the Pegton area, but the events of 2005 suggested they had been blowing smoke of a different kind altogether.

Mandate

NecroTech staff continue to follow directive 42-A, issued by the head office on January 19th 2006, with the activation and manufacture of MK-II revivification syringes. While the cost in time and effort are currently high the certainty provided by being able to manufacture a constant stream of syringes has mitigated early concerns.

The activation of NecroNet with all NecroTech buildings has also allowed scientists to apply the DNA tracking research they have gathered to date. The field research staff stationed at the Rowcliffe Building feel certain that they can crack the mystery surrounding the spread of the virus as well as help monitor aberrant zombie activity within Pegton.

Barricade Policy

This building should be Extremely Heavily barricaded at all times. This is in accordance with the mutually agreed-upon plan set forth by local survivor groups, who routinely work together to monitor that the barricades for this building are at the aforementioned level. This building is meant to serve as a safehouse for Malton's veteran survivors.

NecroNet Reports

Zombie tracking reports are a free service provided by the NecroTech corporation to all its staff and local survivors in order to help facilitate quicker response times when managing zombie threats and to build a greater awareness of zombie migration patterns within the 9x9 block region around the Rowcliffe Building. As a cautious reminder, only those zombies tagged with the DNA Extractor will appear on these scans, so actual numbers may vary when dealing with older zombies (i.e. Brain Rot).

Current Status

10/28/2011: The lights went out in the Rowcliffe Building. (3 hours and 20 minutes ago). Someone destroyed the genny...Damn! Son of Sin 05:28, 28 October 2011 (BST)

Rowcliffe will probably be ruined real soon. I've barricaded to ehb twice. My AP is low & most of the survivors fled after warning me of the danger outside. No one defends buildings... They let zombies ruin them, then rebuild after the zombies leave. Son of Sin 19:01, 28 October 2011 (BST)

Mark 2 syringes, GPS Units, DNA extractors, and books can be found inside any of these Necrotech buildings. Tagging any of these buildings earn no XP. This building is also used as a revive point.

Members of project NecroWatch renovated the facility by installing sensor eyes for A.L.I.C.E. throughout the building and uploading NecroNet 2.0 into the facility's system terminals.

March 22nd, 2011 - The usual in terms of barricades and power, and we've got a nice group of revivers staffing the building. The only standing zeds within a block are all rotters or zombie group members - our record stands at 22 revives in one day, which essentially converted 90% of the attacking force (only one of which was an unaffiliated death cultist). --Thorgold 05:06, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

August 9th, 2009 - Caded and lit and fairly popluted with survivors but some roaming zed activity, expecially down around St. Matthews Hospital which is being attacked by a dozen. --RustyNailsSon 21:02, 9 August 2009 (UTC+10)

July 11th, 2009 - Caded and lit, but most of the surrounding area is ruined. --Wraith94 21:39, 11 July 2009 (BST)

March 22th, 2009 - Under seige, 30+ zeds just outside this building and 20+ dead, ENVY and M.E.R.C.Y holding it up for now, but clearlt this wont be forever, the cades collapes and are rebuilt every 5 mins, its dangourous here. -- Hbk710 16:13, 22 March 2009 (EST)

March 11th, 2009 - Things are quiet, except for one break-in by a brain rot zombie who wanted to be revived. The same thing cannot be said to Pitneybank to the North, which is being ravaged by the RRF. The current job for Rowcliffe officers is turning former defenders of its neighbouring suburb back to life. -- Kittithaj 14:24, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

October 25th, 2008 - Hundereds of zombies in the suburbs south and west, but they arn't coming this way...they are going south! YEAH! --Angusburger 09:59, 25 October 2008 (BST)

October 22nd, 2008 - Lots of zombies, mainly to the west. This is going to be big...--Pistolieer 02:50, 23 October 2008 (BST)

July 15th, 2008-The building and all of its surrounding building have been taken by the Zombies. The area immediately surrounding Rowcliffe is full of Zombie Activity. Reisch 11:43 PM EST, July 15th, 2008

July 7th, 2008 - The building and its surroundings are all powered and secure. Little to no Zombie activity seems to have been present in the area for a few weeks now. Reisch 12:07 PM EST, July 7th, 2008

March 4th, 2008 - The zombie horde has retaken the foul Necrotech facility. --brownbeard the zombie 7:48 GMT, Tuesday March 4th, 2008

January 10th, 2008 - building ruined with 10 zombies inside. --N41X 22:43, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

December 9th, 2007 - After another long day at the Rowcliife building, Rowcliffe remains in survivors hand thanks to the CDF, Pegton resident solo survivors and groups and a great thanks to the USAI's expert handling of the break ins. To all locals residents, please continue to drop in from time to time to check on our well being, the barricades and to evict unwelcome guests plus also make full use of the Rowcliffe facilities when operational. As usual free running is required to enter the Rowcliffe building due to the 40+ zeds protesters, protesting for the Rowcliffe's closure, which is headed by the RMF --dusty

December 8th, 2007 - After the CDF with the help of the USAI apparently defeated the RMF and now the building is fully functional, though Free running is required to enter, since there is the policy to keep it Extremely Heavy barricaded to discourage further attacks, NT employees are welcome to search/manufacture syringes aswell as just head for shelter. --Stimtheone

December 3rd, 2007 - This building has been under constant RMF control for weeks. The CDF has been fought off at every turn. --Bran Eating Zombie

November 7th, 2007 - Rowcliffe retaken by 3 CDF members. Various loners and members have since joined, repelling any imminent zombie attacks.--Shadowshnipe

November 3rd, 2007 - 29 zeds still in front of the building.--Darkstar117 16:48, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

October 5th, 2007 - A mob of 32 zombies overran the building, smashing the lab equipment into smoldering wreckage. A mob of zombies is still milling around the building, feeding on the piles of corpses nearby. -BranEatingZombie

July 16th, 2007 - Raided overnight by LUE and other Zombies. In desperate need of repair inorder for the Revive points to function. --Bono Landy 11:40, 16 July 2007 (BST)

May 19th, 2007 - Currently rebuilding with Individual 11, Pegton Special Branch and Dogs Of War all in the effort. Its at EHB with tons of dead bodies outside tho. Someone cahnge that pic of in zed hands, i dont no how

March 9th, 2007 - 18 Zombies outside. Power is on and barricades are up, but resistance is going to have to be stiff to keep the zombies out. Geerts 15:41, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Febuary 1st, 2007 - Individual 11 claims Rowcliffe as a home base.
