welcome to the world of suggestions... its not a nice place but it can be fun ;) Just a few points first and most important... go proof read you edit, you will thank me:) Second; the encumberance needs to be a lot higher... i would say at least as much as a generator or toolkit but probably more. Talk Suggestions Template

Ross, you seem to be giving everything 7 days. If you don't catch the exact end of the conversation you can probably give it less if it is clear that chat has died or broken down to off topic stuff. It's generally 7 days from the last real comment so if you post 3 days after the last one you can put 4 days, for example. You may also want to put the template at the top of the chat. I find it makes people notice it better. (Archive this post in case anyone says differently) ;) You may want to move stuff over to here too. I always forget that overflow page is there. Thanks for helping out! I haven't forgotten our little "exchange" when we started the image project, by the way... --– Nubis NWO 11:50, 12 October 2008 (BST)

At the top under Cycling Suggestions: Developing suggestions that appear to have been abandoned (i.e. two days or longer without any new edits) will be given a warning for deletion. If there are no new edits it will be deleted seven days following the last edit. I read this as after 2 days you can warn them, but after 7 total it is gone. It seems to keep the clutter down.--– Nubis NWO 10:56, 13 October 2008 (BST)

Adopt a building

Hi,

I was going to write a page about the tactics my new zombie group is developing, but I haven't got round to it yet. It's laid out in the group page, but in a nutshell we have picked a single building in a usually-green suburb to attack and if possible keep ruined. I'm interested to see how the breathers react, since they can't drive us away, and we just stand up again if killed. We've grown in numbers over the last week or so, and hope to appear on the stats page soon.

Anyway, that template isn't used at the moment, but I might need it someday. Billy Forks 20:30, 12 October 2008 (BST)

re: The Great Radio Massacre

I was thinking something similar to the suburb massacre. Put a template on every group page that has a radio listing, wait 2 weeks for a response, then weed out the non-responders. Asheets 16:22, 13 October 2008 (BST)

It's changed again, now to "4. Rosslessness - (Awaiting Answer) Arbiter of the Special Zombie Extermination Squad". His response below details the stupidity of this individual, he can't differentiate between a player and his characters, and the character he does decide to associate with murder is the one who is the most pro-survivor of my characters and my pacifist.
And he wonders why he went on the Order's 'Educate on Sight' list.... -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 11:20, 23 October 2008 (BST)

Which Hills?

I'm not exactly in Dunnell Hills right now...am up in Dakerstown, though, where we're being counter-attacked by Extinction. ;) They're taking out all the factories and hospitals in hopes of starving us out of the NT. --Jen 06:03, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Can you confirm the hiskett PD is on the border of the Map? --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 15:15, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

No, Hiskett isn't on the edge of the map. I have other blocks after that. At least 3 right now. After Hiskett goes Oldroyd Alley, Hole Street, then Feltham Street. I have an excel spreadsheet I started for this.

Also after the Agatho Street School on the bottom of this "suburb" is at least 3 more blocks. The confusing part is that the suburb title for all these locations always said East Borehamwood. So are the suburbs bigger than 10x10, maybe?

Other tips I have. I just looked up the Dead Set TV series on Wiki, for clues of the whereabouts of the Big Brother House in the game I found that they used an ex-military site for the set. Also that the real UK Big Brother House was in Elstree Studios in Borehamwood/Elstree, Hertfordshire, England. So I am think there has to be some type of Elstree location on the map. Good luck finding it. The map is so huge. Really it will just be some lucky that finds it first. Because they will auto-gen in a close spot. Plus you have to stay alive long enough to find it. Well actually, no, you can find it as a zombie

NW Borehamwood

Well, I was going south, but there's no problem heading NE to me :) No AP left though, I'll have to wait tomorrow. --Janus Abernathy 15:40, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Im having similar problems in the NW! --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 15:28, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

I did a little real life scouting. The Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, England seems to be in the center of Borehamwood. I'm going to try and go towards the middle. That's assuming East Borehamwood in the game is near the East edge of the map. If I head west maybe I'll have luck???

I guess so!--RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 15:54, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

I've unfortunately not been taking iwitness shots...just cutting and pasting screenshots, so I'm afraid I won't have much to hand Duke Garland. --Jen 21:29, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

if you don't want to make iwitness you can also just enter source code of the page and copy lines starting right under the line that says suburb name and finishing with the line right above the one that has
tag. that is the meatsome part where the location names go and coordinates and location type tags. what i do with iwitty is actully copypasting this part. then i feed it to an angry beaver and that one pokes hamsters that run in the wheels that make electricity in my house enough to power up database where i store all this info. after that another magic wand and info from database gets parsed to wikipage User:Duke Garland/BHW. That's it. hamsters. key thing. --~~~~ [talk] 22:29, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Naw, I'll take iwits from here on out. Sounds a BIT simpler than trying to sort through source code. ;)--Jen 22:49, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

thanks a ton for the info, that really helps. ill try to start recruiting once I get to a reasonable level and have staked out a claim in the suburb.

Hey, Rosslessness. Thanks for the message. Stay in touch via radio. I've been making trips up to Clare Hospital; I'll try to say hello on my next trip in that direction. Things look quiet in our little police state crescent to your south. Too quiet. By which I mean, there isn't much zombie OR survivor activity. It's hard to get people talking or acting. But 3/4 of our PDs are powered and barricaded, which is good. Finding radio transmitters has been a real problem (at least for those guys trying to start a radio station), so getting information into and out of hospitals could be a big headache. Do you have any ideas on this? -Joe (Saburai)

I agree that the zombie activity is low in this area (thankfully). I hadn't heard whether the "mall" in South Borehamwood is really a mall at all, or just a "supermarket" which may or may not include an electronics store. I'm sure more information will trickle in. Incidentally, there is a 2-block supermarket in Radlett, so you don't need to go all the way South to try your luck with this new building type. But you DO have to cross a mile of fields, and it's a HIKE. I haven't heard any word from Radlett at all, but if they can get transmitters and GPS units and cell phones there, we should find a way to chat with them.

Parkhouse Walk PD is NOT a group at the moment, just a bunch of survivors standing around with me on the radio egging them on. But we do have a construction person, and will have two very soon (once I've used the med kits in my possession, I'll be able to buy the skill myself). I've built a provisional wiki page for Parkhouse Walk Police Station, so I'm trying to lay the infrastructure so we can form a group and stay coordinated. It's amazing how much more careful you are when you only have one life!

Yep, you found me (the one with the stainless steel hatchet). Thanks for adding that map. I'm a comfortable writer but I've got no talent for web layout. Put me on your list of friendlies: Joe England. And if there's anything I can do to help, just let me know.

Ah, so THAT'S what that button does. Got it!--Saburai 21:20, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Hey

Thanks for the welcome. I am having a problem with my signature, and was wondering if you could help me out here. Sometimes when I try to use my sig, it puts the two dashes (--) on the same line as my comment or statement, but it puts the 4 tildes and the links to my pages on the next line. This seems to happen when I try to vote on suggestions and start the line with the # symbol to continue the numbering. Some other times, it will work perfectly. Do you know how to fix this? Because It Should Be Said

I wouldn't congratulate any who get this position and I don't see why anyone does. It's now your duty to the wiki to put it's interests before yours on it, to make sure things are running smoothly where you can, and to punish people who you may or may not like based on their actions and not your personal views of them. More to the point, be active and try not to let it drive you away. Outdated Locations Portals

I know it seems a bit confusing but, if you make sure all the links are leading to new individual locations pages containing the data there's no need to file an A/SD request. Just delete them. No one will hold it against to if you don't spam the admin pages with something like if it's not causing any problems, just be sure the links are taken care of correctly and the individual locations pages are right.--Karekmaps?! 18:59, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

FORCETOC it into place. It might not be something you did so much as simply the fact that IE treats CSS differently and has separate CSS and JS scripts running for it than the wiki generates for other browsers. IE might just prefer to put the anchor at the top, outside of the tables, instead of immediately preceding the first anchor.--Karekmaps?! 10:18, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

The project mentor message you left for me...

Hey here, I missed your message from boxing day 'til now, thanks for the compliment. I think were pretty much good to go in game, declaring ourselves as PK group means our learning curve was bound to be steep, but weve survived pretty well so far, lol. :)

...That is unless you know how to get around the tangling grasp bug that means you don't actually tangle, but it seems to be a pretty common complaint? Urgggggggh 14:24, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Ive replied to your message on my talk page, on my talk page so it actually looks like its getting used :) --Urgggggggh 15:42, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Kempsterbank Danger Report

Why did you undo my edit to User:DangerReport/Kempsterbank? Yesterday's external military report had the suburb with no standing zombies, no ruins and almost completely powered. 10:13, 8 January 2009 (UTC) "... streets are looking clear in Kempsterbank ... a lot of lights on, looks the area's been reclaimed ... infrastructure looks intact too ... the Jillard Building is being held ..." Feral Hearing

Is going to fall of the page. Happened to my suggestion and I didn't get too much feedback.

Your fictitious map

Or world, or realm.

Cory Avenue? :o
