Suggestion description
It'd add a new building, called the Local TV Station. Being about the size of a mall, the TV station acts like an 'uber-radio', allowing for anyone to broadcast information to everyone in the city who has a Portable TV (found in lots of places, find rates %1.5, %3, %4.5, %5 (dark/ruined/unpowered/powered), encumberance 3%) or anyone who is in a powered building with a plugged-in full-sized TV (Mall electronics stores, find rates NA/4%/5%/7.5%, encumberance 15%).
The positives
To balance this zed-wise, large building = large target. You'd still get the 'no barricading the halls' thing you get in malls, so once the barricades are down it becomes a grey matter all-you-can-eat-and-then-some buffet.
Unfortunately, I can't see any places where you could put this building. It seems pretty late into the game to make up a 2x2 building. Still, if any more cities experience a similar event (read: if Kevan wishes to create a third city, alongside Malton and Monroeville), a TV station would certainly fit the RP and the overall ambience of the game.
Before anyone asks, I got this idea after reading over Fanglord2's idea in the Talk:Suggestions page.

- Keep - Because I want to see the neverending wars over the control of that building between different survivor groups, and the useless spam and propaganda that will be broadcast from there. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 12:56, 1 June 2008 (BST)
- Change - As Vandurn and Midianian, but the basic idea is good. Like Vandurn, going to give some suggestions - You can't make new buildings, but if there's one thing I've discovered from watching TV shows based in apocalyptic and near-apocalyptic settings, it's that TV stations can be made with equipment in an otherwise normal bedroom (pirate broadcasts) - Examplse of movies and TV shows which do that, off the top of my head - They Live (the rebels' hijacking the signals) and Dark Angel (Logan's pirate broadcasting TV station). It would be nice if this could somehow be combined with video cameras as well to give people a 'snapsnot' of stuff in different hot spots throughout malton. --Tselita 22:09, 1 June 2008 (BST)
Kill Votes
- Kill - Radios are enough. We don't need an "uber radio". -Fred Fredfredson 07:38, 1 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill - The station would became a spammer magnet --Explodey 11:59, 1 June 2008 (BST)
- One could argue that with radio transmitters usable everywhere which has power, they could just as easily spam radio frequencies. --Blake Firedancer 12:33, 1 June 2008 (BST)
kill - first off it does not need to be as large as a mall. most cable access channels can run properly in the space of the average classroom. also i doubt that after the initial outbreak that television channels would still be running and i would imagine that radio would be a much more effective means of communication. --Scotw 13:32, 1 June 2008 (BST)changed to dupe --Scotw 18:23, 2 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill/Change - This time, I'll give suggestions, but mostly because this seemed like a cool idea by the title. You can't make new buildings. The map is already made and will stay that way just so long as zeds keep away from construction machinery. But at the same time, I don't see what is "uber" about this. It seems exactly the same as a transmitter, except you need a special new item to see it. If you went more into how a player could "see" things in the TV studio, that would be cool. Maybe it could see the player appearance of the speaker? Unfortunately, if you keep in tune with the zombie themes, TV stations are one of the elements of society that fall fairly early in every zombie movie or story. I'd like to see a 2.0 version of this, so work on it, yeah? --Vandurn 15:36, 1 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill - Radios already work quite well. --ZsL 16:38, 1 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill/Change - Its not complete, (no location or list of possible locations), and I really don't see the need for it, but mostly the 1st point. If you get a possible location or a list I will possibly change my vote. --Danny Williams 17:21, 1 June 2008 (BST)

- Spam - what the hell? You can already broadcast to anyone in Malton who has a portable radio, simply by installing a radio transmitter in any powered building in the city. Why fight over a single, immovable, large building to do what can already be done a whole lot easier? -- boxy talk • i 12:46 1 June 2008 (BST)
