20090620 Laundrette
Angusburger 21:16, 20 June 2009 (BST)
Suggestion type
Building/Flavour
Suggestion scope
Every human wearing clothes
Suggestion description
I propose a new building, called the Laundrette. It would be slightly less common than cinemas, and aims to increase flavour in game.
If the laundrette was powered, there would be an option, worth 1AP to wash one item of clothing. This would only apply to jackets, shirts, trousers and other 'fabric' clothing. i.e not boots or glasses.
This is aimed as a flavour change, and mainly as I always like to have a 'Mall' shirt.

- Keep - Sure. Beats getting new clothes any day. However, how will lighting rules apply to them? --Private Mark 21:33, 20 June 2009 (BST)
- Keep - Sure. Why not? More diverse buildings is a good thing, though really it just gives survivors reason to demand more buffs so they can save their AP for doing stupid shit like laundry instead of pretending this is a zombie game. "Oh no, my shirt's dirty and I'm all out of fabric softener!" Next up; Manicurists, Hairdressers and Shoe stores. Two questions besides Mark's above; should buildings that usually have large glass-panel front windows even be possible to 'cade? Do clothes, once cleaned, actually ever get dirty again, or are you running around wreaking havoc in pristine drag because the game lacks a mechanism to dirty them? I've never cared about the clothing aspect of the game (writing a character description suffices for me), so I don't know.--Necrofeelinya 00:55, 21 June 2009 (BST)
Keep/Change - I don't approve of adding buildings into games but I would support giving specific Malls or Buildings this option. DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION (TALK | CONTRIBS) 01:39, 21 June 2009 (BST)- Keep - I like this; gives survivors an interesting building to hold and like you, I hate blood-stained shirts! --Bjorn 14:23, 21 June 2009 (BST)
- Keepi don't see why not, but what would you find inside launderettes?--Zagert 18:34, 21 June 2009 (BST)

Kill Votes
Kill/Change - As DDR, but kill because the idea isn't fully fleshed out. What happens if your clothes are tattered/ripped? Does it cost the AP or just an IP hit? Would this (original part of the idea) replace current buildings (which ones?) or appear in other empty squares? Can you find clothing in these buildings? Developing Suggestions would've helped cover some of these things and others if you'd gone there first. --Bob Boberton TF / DW 01:44, 21 June 2009 (BST)
- Kill - really great.--xoxo 13:29, 21 June 2009 (BST)
- Kill - Wheres the water come from? unless your suggesting that there is still running water in the city. I like the idea, but not for this game.--Bonghit420 07:57, 23 June 2009 (BST)
- Kill All you have to do is go to your local Borehamwood Shopping Centre and get some new clothes. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 22:11, 23 June 2009 (BST)
