BME Problems
I am asking your help to ban the jerks who keep vandalizing our WIKI Bale Mall Elite. The only ones who should be making content changes are myself (Legend X) or the other co-founder (Evil Kadaver). As you cansee by the history our page has been vandalized several times by Banana Bear4, Sup34dog, Denzel Washington, and Movero. It's becoming VERY annoying and we have asked them each about 10 times to stop posting their rubbish. Can you threaten them or ban them. Please? Legend_X
- Hmm... I s'pose it is technically your group's page. But do remember that Talk pages are for people to leave comments, and the general convention on wikis is that everyone is allowed to edit pages (though Group pages are something of an exception there). Traditionally, the first paragraph or so on a group page should be3 considered editable by anyone. I'll give them all a warning, since I can't really in good conscience not, but I am going to ask that you don't continue to wipe their comments on the Talk page, as that's considered bad form. If you don't want their comments on the page, place them in an archive (like Talk:BME/Archive). Further, the first paragraph is fair game - if people can confirm stuff, then they can happily place unsavoury stuff about a group on their wiki page. -- Odd Starter talk | Mod | W! 22:16, 27 February 2006 (GMT)
- Odd Starter - I appreciate you giving them a warning but it didn't work. They vandalized our page about 15 times all through the night. And if they add 'discussion'it is fine but when they say we are Zergers and Pkers (and that I am an alt of another character with a similar name)then it is NOT okay because that's exactly the type of behavior we are trying to get rid of inside the mall (alts/zergs/PKers). It seems theyare LYING about us to discredit us and that IS vandalism. They also use foul language. Any help appreciated.Legend_X
- Not our fault you are a zerger and covering it up. Furthermore, it is not vandalism if it goes in the groups NPOV section. --Grim s 21:37, 28 February 2006 (GMT)
- Group pages are the exclusive property of their creator, sorry but I've recently discovered this for myself. If you post something and the page's owners remove it more than once - the more you repost, the more it becomes stonger and stronger cases of vandalism. I would say to post it on the talk page, but that too is exclusive property of page owner, apparently. -- Amazing 21:41, 28 February 2006 (GMT)
- I believe The NPOV section was said to be fair game by Mr. Starter, and the talk page, I had presumed was for discussion between people in and out of the group, although I don't believe there is a clear cut policy posted anywhere concerning Group pages, and could warrant discussion elsewhere.-Banana Bear4 21:46, 28 February 2006 (GMT)
- Modifying the NPOV is not an exclusive of the creator of the page.--Denzel Washington 23:04, 28 February 2006 (GMT)
- Altering ANY page and using words like "alt" or "zerg" or "multip[le accts" without proof IS VANDALISM. Read Odd Starter's reply Denzel. You cannot alter our missions statement saying we are zergers. That's a lie. I am Legend X. I am not Logan X. Check IP address, state of origin, whatever. Repeatedly changing our WIKI IS VANDALISM. Stop doing it. Creat your own "I hate BME" page if you want. But even then if you accuse us of zerging or whatever i canremove it because it is baseless and false. You are such a jerk and causing lots of frustration. .--Legend X
- Denzel this is from your own page - Denzel, please do not continue editing the BME wiki page. This is a first warning. -- Odd Starter talk | Mod | W! 22:22, 27 February 2006 (GMT)
- Also Denzel, get your facts straight. The BME wiki is our exclusive property. We don't have to let you post on there at all (except under the talk/discussionsection) as it is not an open forum. It is a vehicle used for group information, doctrine, mission as well as rules and regulations. Any altering of those sections would be vandalismas they would be your unproven opinion (and you are NOT a BME member). Post on the talk/discussion section if you have to but pleae know that you are very immature and a real jerk for doing all this and wasting everyone's time. -- Legend X
- Dear legend,
I'd be glad if you stopped saying bullshit. The NPOV section is supposed to be impartial, and therefore is not an exclusive of the page creator. Yours, --Denzel Washington 16:50, 1 March 2006 (GMT)
Dear Denzel - the top of the page (NPV as you say) is for OUR broup to profess OUR goal/mission/doctrine and ANY alteration by you IS considered vandalism as you've already been warned by the mods and asked by us - more than 25 times - to stop changing it. As Odd Starter (a MOD) has asked you above - please stop editing our wiki. The "TALK" section is the ONLY section that is up for addition of non-group member comments. You KEEP saying we are zergers and that certain characters have multipe accts, etc and that is 100% false. ANY changes you make to the top of the 1st page is considered vandalism. do your homework. Read Amazing above, he says "Group pages are the exclusive property of their creator.... If you post something and the page's owners remove it more than once - the more you repost, the more it becomes stonger and stronger cases of vandalism...." All you are doing is erasing the group's message and adding your own opinion in there. It is the same thing if I go to your page and say "Denzel Washington only associates with known homosexual players and loves to IM people while he masterbates." if I kept posting that on your page 150 times over 3 days it would be vandalizing. STOP IT ALREADY. BME owns the page and BME will post it's beleifs/doctrines and mission statement. It is OUR page for member recruiting and serves as a way for our 35+ members to get info. For you to deface it with lies is vandalism. Use the TALK page or don't post there at all. -- Legend X
Dear Legend, evidently you just don't get it. I posted in the talk page, and things were deleted. I've then posted on the NPOV part of the page, as is in my rights. Regards,--Denzel Washington 23:37, 1 March 2006 (GMT)
Dear dumbass Denzel, NOTHING you post on the discussion page will be banned as long as it is free of lies/vulgarities and profanity. You have my promise. of course if you say we are zergers without proof it WILL be erased. Thanks, Glad you got banned. -- Legend X
Dear Legend, thanks for letting me i was banned - because sure as hell i didn't realize it.--Denzel Washington 17:43, 2 March 2006 (GMT)
Hey, Legend X (and also Amazing), last I checked groups aren't supposed to throw hissy fits and start yelling about how THEIR page is THEIR property and only THEY can edit it. If such a thing were true, then we'd have a lot of hyperbole and pretty much zero accurate information. Since apparently what we want is accurate information with maybe some stupid jerk crap tagged on to the end, that's what we get. If I wanted, I could put on the CoL page that we have fifty thousand members and we operate out of Ridleybank after killing the RRF ten times over using our incredible psychic powers. However that shit would be edited out on account of the fact that it's not true, and most likely edited out by someone who isn't in the CoL. BUT OH WAIT GROUP PAGES ARE PROPERTY OF THE GROUP THAT'S VANDALISM!!! Hurr, no it's not, it's accuracy. I've done my best to make this wiki as accurate as my limited attention span will let me, and been more than a little ticked off when my edits get reverted because HAY UR VANDALISING OUR PAGE AND RUINING TEH GAEM!!!!! Your group's page is there to inform people about your group, and all pertinent information has to be included so it doesn't end up as some sassy biased piece of crap. Sure, you can put in all manner of stuff you want, but that doesn't mean that you have free reign to delete all the bad stuff like "abuses multiple accounts" or "player kills" or "RUINS THE GAME". Grow up and join the rest of us here in Maturityville, please. --Katthew 18:45, 2 March 2006 (GMT)
Scinfaxi
Ok, here's the story. I posted something about this Scinfaxi character on the Caiger Mall Survivors PK list section. He deleted my post and then I reposted it. A few days later, he, in his cunning, changed the post so that it directed users to another player's profile and not his. Instead of "Scinfaxi killed Ron Burgundy," it said "Visual killed Ron Burgundy." I fixed it again, but thought I should report it because Visual is not related to the Channel 4 News Team and I don't want to rope random people into some sort of PK-fest... or associate a Virtuous, Patriotic American with Wes Mantooth. Anyhow, I'm not sure if this counts as vandalism, but there it is. Stay Classy, moderators. --Ron Burgundy 19:01, 26 February 2006 (GMT)
An update
He seems to have deleted the PK thing. Am I to assume no comment means no action will be taken? If so, please comment. :D --Ron Burgundy 16:33, 27 February 2006 (GMT)
- Well, if he's removed his own vandalism, then I don't see why we have any reason to take action. We're not the kind of people who punish others even after they've made amends... -- Odd Starter talk | Mod | W! 22:24, 27 February 2006 (GMT)
- No no no, that's now what I'm saying. He changed my post, I changed it back, he changed it again, I changed it back, he deleted it. I didn't bother fixing it again because I assumed this action/counter-action thing could go on forever, depending on which of has less to do. Sorry if I wasn't clear. --Ron Burgundy 00:59, 28 February 2006 (GMT)
- Yeesh, I just looked at his History. That's a vandal if ever I saw one. I'm most definitely warning him, feel free to give us a holler if he continues the way he's going. -- Odd Starter talk | Mod | W! 03:36, 28 February 2006 (GMT)
- Righto, Captain. Thanks a bunch and Stay Classy. --Ron Burgundy 09:04, 28 February 2006 (GMT)
- There's nothing new under the sun. Same old vandalism again. [1] Thanks for the help! May you have land and descendents. --Ron Burgundy 22:02, 28 February 2006 (GMT)
- Whoops, he didn't delete it that time! He moved it and changed it in such a way that it's significantly more interesting. This isn't vandalism, this is awesome. Don't worry about giving him another warning/ban. --Ron Burgundy 01:40, 1 March 2006 (GMT)
- Maybe you two can kiss now? Or get a sense of humor. Oh yes, and apparently Odd's brilliant powers of deduction have led him to the belief that I'm a wiki vandal. Good job, you've just proven how oblivious you are to the difference between a joke and vandalism.
DarthRevan
Once again we have a problem with someone who thinks that they exclusively own a Wiki page that isn't their User page. What's more, this is a discussion page. This person has deleted many times in the past, but I'm finally reporting the most recent because I've warned this person SO MANY times that they actually know better by now. The reply from this person has always been "It's my page!" and I've told them that they don't have the right to vandalize other people's discussion about ten times in different instances. It's obvious that DarthRevan is simply ignorant of the rules, but has made no effort to actually change their behavior, so here we are.
Vandalism #1 (at the bottom) - Vandalism #2
I can provide links to past cases of vandalism by DarthRevan, but since they're so old by now (due to my profuse warning and urging that this person PLEASE look up the rules of the Wiki) I don't know if they are valid in this forum any longer. -- Amazing 19:03, 23 February 2006 (GMT)
- On behalf of the rest of LCD, may I say that Amazing is a vandalizing asshat, and all Cortonna did was delete some vandalism of Amazing's on the page he has been repeatedly asked to avoid? MaulMachine 20:24, 23 February 2006 (GMT)
- Get a Dictionary. Look up "Vandalism". -- Amazing 01:43, 24 February 2006 (GMT)
- Wiping talk pages of old stuff is common practice and perfectly legal. It's her group and she's certainly within her limits to do that for its talk page.--'STER-Talk-Mod 00:16, 24 February 2006 (GMT)
- Although for non-User talk pages, it's more traditional to Archive rather than wipe. -- Odd Starter talk | Mod | W! 00:27, 24 February 2006 (GMT)
- 'STER wins the award for no research. It's not "Old stuff". Why are you commenting without checking? I would like a warning or ban for DarthRevan, though a Ban would be a bit much, I guess. It was not "Old Stuff", thank you very much. Jesus. -- Amazing 01:42, 24 February 2006 (GMT)
- Jeeeeze. Can't you Mods PLEASE check the EVIDENCE (at least look at it) before you make decisions? That is how this works, you see. Zaruthustra just cleared DarthRevan of Vandalism on her talk page again saying that "OLD" things were deleted! THEY WERE NOT OLD, IT WAS A LIVE, CURRENT DISCUSSION. Before a knee-jerk decision is made against me because I'm Amazing and because the page was started by DarthRevan, take a look at the evidence. X( -- Amazing 03:10, 24 February 2006 (GMT)
- It's old if she says it's old. As the page creator and the head of the group, she has the right to wipe the talk page of anything and everything she likes.--'STER-Talk-Mod 03:27, 24 February 2006 (GMT)
- Wrong. But if that's what you think then there's no two ways about it, is there? Oh well. Let the decree ring out across the Wiki. If you create a page, you can delete any discussion you like from the talk page without reprocussion. That's massively irresponcible, 'STER. Nothing personal at all, but really. You're saying "It's old when she says it's old!" and that's rediculous. -- Amazing 03:30, 24 February 2006 (GMT)
- It's old if she says it's old. As the page creator and the head of the group, she has the right to wipe the talk page of anything and everything she likes.--'STER-Talk-Mod 03:27, 24 February 2006 (GMT)
- Oh 'STER.. dear 'STER. I like you, I really do man. But you're wrong yet again due to your total lack of research. Please stop making false claims based on what you assume rather than the facts. DarthRevan is not the page's creator. I don't expect this to change your mind since it's already set and no fact will change that, but at least you can see here that you really need to check things out instead of saying what you assume. It's not good Moderator form to make bogus claims. -- Amazing 03:39, 24 February 2006 (GMT)
Before a knee-jerk decision is made against me because I'm Amazing and because the page was started by DarthRevan, take a look at the evidence. X( -- Amazing 03:10, 24 February 2006 (GMT)
- Ahh yeah. I assumed she created it, but hey.. clicking a link cleared it up. It's not like you didn't already have your mind made up anyway. -- Amazing 03:46, 24 February 2006 (GMT)
Clearing a talk page of old or unnecessary information is common practice. While Revan isn't the page creator, they are the current leader and were working within reasonable boundaries. Bad form perhaps, but not banworthy. Your discussion with Maul Machine fell neatly into the "unnecessary" category. It was simply trolling on both your parts, and had no place on the page to begin with. Confine flame wars to user pages if you really must have them. --Zaruthustra-Mod 18:05, 24 February 2006 (GMT)
- It wasn't "Old" - Stop stating falsehoods, Mr. Moderator. At least find a truthful way to justify your preset decision. I still request a Warning for DarthRevan. For inappropriate Wiki editing/vandalism. No matter what you come up with to justify it, you're still going against the spirit of the Wiki. -- Amazing 02:32, 25 February 2006 (GMT)
- He didn't say it was old, he said it was unnecessary. For someone who coined the term 'CNR'... - KingRaptor 01:33, 26 February 2006 (GMT)
- Leave your past grudges at the door, troll. It wasn't unnessicary because I was stating one of the members of that group was a PKer. Therefor the only other option is "Old", and it wasn't that, either. Sorry, your bile has missed its target. -- Amazing 02:43, 26 February 2006 (GMT)
- So I'm a troll attacking you because of old grudges? Someone's projecting...
- Your claims that one of the members of LCD (MaulMachine) was a PKer are patently false (he didn't attack you in ingame, he didn't add you to the PK list, and adding someone to either the ARSE or PK lists is not PK by proxy, no matter how much you scream otherwise). Furthermore, the discussion had degenerated into pointless bickering. As such, it was unnecessary. - KingRaptor 03:17, 26 February 2006 (GMT)
- Ugh. You're going to make me explain simple things, eh? PKing stands for Player Killing. He Killed a Player through malicious lying - something he admitted to attempting in the past (getting someone he didn't like PKed by others through lies) so let's see.. Killed a Player with a false report. Hmm PKing. PKer. Shall we continue? Because I can explain more things you need clarified. Yeah, you're a troll because you popped in for the sole purpose of trolling, and you're bitching about something old in that "CNR" crap. Guilty. -- Amazing 04:34, 26 February 2006 (GMT)
- Why am I even bothering to argue with you? Maul didn't kill you ingame, therfore he is not a PKer. And just what is this about a false report? Maul didn't put you on the PK list, let alone use false evidence to do so. As for ARSE, there is no such thing as a false report, since ARSE isn't objective or fair, and you can get put on the list for even the slightest offence, including completely OOC ones. (BTW, if anyone wants evidence of the reasons Maul gave in his report, I point to this conversation as exhibit A).
- As for the "trolling" comment, you shouldn't go looking for splinters in people's eyes when you've got a giant piece of redwood sticking out of yours. The CNR reference refers to you accusing people of not reading, an offence you yourself when replying to Zaru (ergo, you're a hypocrite) You have never claimed that I was CNR, and it never affected me, so I don't see what this has to do with old grudges.. You can take your accusations of trolling and stick them where the sun doesn't shine, because I have neither the time nor the inclination to pursue this argument any further. - KingRaptor 06:30, 26 February 2006 (GMT)
- Glad to see that Goodwin's law still applies. --RedKnight 06:38, 26 February 2006 (GMT)
- It's Godwin (1 o). In any case, I didn't equate Amazing to Hitler or the Nazis (such a thing would be utterly ridiculous at best). Rather, I used Hitler in an analogy to describe his hypocrisy. I could have used another analogy, but I couldn't think of one. Anyways, I changed it. - KingRaptor 06:59, 26 February 2006 (GMT)
- Go 'way, liar. You're too dishonest, long-winded, and Trollishly peonic to listen to anymore. This Vandal report didn't concern you, but you went out of your way to jump in with insults and lies. Calling me a troll or what have you for reporting deletion vandalism? Take off, troll, and go back to whatever you were doing before I ever realized you existed. -- Amazing 07:06, 26 February 2006 (GMT)
- Amazing, I am quite happy for you to continue your discussions, but since we have noted that this issue is over, I would like to request that you not continue your arguments here. This actually goes for everyone else as well, because this page is not for fucking flame wars. I don't care who started it but it stops right now. -- Odd Starter talk | Mod | W! 11:51, 26 February 2006 (GMT)
- I'm sure MaulMachine, Alienwolve and Kingraptor are done trolling in a Vandalism report that wasn't related to them at all, so I'm pretty sure this is the last of it. Good to see Mods descriminating, though. I may make a broad "Misconduct" report dealing with neglecting Wiki rules, but on this page at least -- end of discussion. -- Amazing 18:30, 26 February 2006 (GMT)

Resolution
Dispite absolving DarthRevan of wrongdoing days earlier, Zaruthustra has apparently reversed on this and informed DarthRevan of Wiki rules (at least in spirit) in a way as to basically correct her notions of Wiki ownership and deletion. I consider this a warning, as that's what it is - I'm sure Zar will claim otherwise. Telling someone what they're doing is in bad form and is against the spirit of the wiki is a warning since, if they continue that behavior, something will probably be done about it. I accept this as resolution of this case, so I might as well close it. -- Amazing 02:49, 26 February 2006 (GMT)
- Ok. I never actually warned her, but I do agree that there isn't really anything else to discuss. --Zaruthustra-Mod 06:50, 26 February 2006 (GMT)
- So...what? Can I stop Amazing from vandalizing the page any farther now? I'm tired of his hollow accusations and angst cluttering up the page when we have work to do, especially since the topic he intruded on wasn;t even remotely relevant to him. MaulMachine 21:28, 26 February 2006 (GMT)
- Wtf.. I posted the topic. It was moved off the page. That's entirely related to me. Am I the only one who can see this person lying out of his ass every 5 seconds? And no, Maul, I did not do any vandalization in the least. Again, take your lies elsewhere. If you have anything to accuse me of, do it on my Talk page and not a public forum. Hollow accusations like "Maul put me on a list"? Uhh you actually did that. Again, restrict your lying to my talk page, thanks. -- Amazing 23:43, 26 February 2006 (GMT)

- What the hell are you even talking about now? If you mean CMS, Crossman Defense Force is a CMS ally. Use my Talk page to explain yourself otherwise walk away. -- Amazing 00:15, 27 February 2006 (GMT)

Deleted the content of the "Free slavik" page. Here's the history, and here's the comparison. I've reverted the damage, but I thought I'd best file a report.

Hatchet Job
Impersonation of me. Took a comment of mine on the Barrville page, reworded it, and added my signature to it, changing the emphasis and apparent intent, from a comment debunking the earlier claim that they had "won a victory" in Barrville, mocking their claim of taking back the suburb when all they did was barricade strafe it, to make it sound like i alone was being an arrogant jerk. --Grim s 13:45, 21 February 2006 (GMT)
- Oooh, that's some vandalism there. First he takes your very POV RRF message and makes it objective. Then he manages to make you look bad, and all he had to do was change "they" to "we" to show the statement was in-character and add your signature to something you actually said. It's not hard to make you look like an arrogant jerk, as you are, in fact, an arrogant jerk.--'STER-Talk-Mod 14:56, 21 February 2006 (GMT)
- Grim, my intent was not to make you look like an arrogant jerk. You apparently can do that well enough without my help. Seriously, I took what you said and put it into the "press release" standard on the page. No question that the RRF has done a number on East Barrville. That's why it's in the "announcement" portion. Then I ascribed the extra text to you, just as it is done on the rest of the page (including in your post the day before!). On the talk page I was genuinely complimenting you on your two posts - perhaps you interpreted that as sarcasm? I'll try to make that more clear in the future. But, hey, how about you trying not to be so defensive, okay? Chill, dude.--Hatchet Job 17:32, 21 February 2006 (GMT)
- Sorry, it was late last night, i was in a foul mood, made worse by the fact i had had less than eight hours sleep in the previous four days (Im still not doing well with that respect). I kinda wish i could take it back. --Grim s 02:15, 22 February 2006 (GMT)

- Probably good-faith edit. He seems to have accidentally removed most votes happening between his first and second suggestion (although, both suggestions were incorrectly placed at the top). But I only had a quick look. Fortunately I'm not a mod, I don't have to ;) --Brizth W! 18:50, 20 February 2006 (GMT)

- Wow, vandalism so frenetic I wondered if it was a bot for a second. Warned. Question, seeing as how every edit he has ever made seems to be vandalism, can I say this is his only warning? I know the standard is a three strikes you're out policy, but this user has shown no inclination to create goodwill or contribute to the community. We autoban spambots, and this is just an extremely inefficient one. --Zaruthustra-Mod 03:43, 11 Feb 2006 (GMT)
- Doesn't seem to be a bot considering the time stamps; He's focusing on pages on the Yagoton suburb list. He marred the Yagoton Revivification Clinic as well as others. Tranahanam altered another poster's vote (ALIENwolve's to be precise), by crossing it out which he has no authority to do. It is vandalism. You can see it in the history here. In other news, he left me an annoying message on my User Page, altering one of the titles i have on the page. I consider such messages to be vandalism of my user page. If he wants to fix spelling, he is well within his rights to do so. However leaving a message such as "your grammar sucks--Love, Nam." in a title is uncalled for. --Grim s 17:50, 11 Feb 2006 (GMT) I probably wouldn't ban him for this, but I did warn him.--'STER-Talk-Mod 08:39, 12 Feb 2006 (GMT)
Caiger Mall Survivors
Someone has changed the group info to that of a group called "The Angry Midget Pirates." The odd thing is, the change doesn't show up in the history. Various Suggestion Problems
Hi there. This is more of a heads-up than a report, per se, but I wanted to put it somewhere. Four or five of my suggestion votes disappeared overnight. It seems targetted at mostly me, though other people look like they had problems too. Links (for my vanished votes only) below:
- Melee Attack Improvement
- Search Vehicles
- Safer Zombie resting points
- people reading
Bentley Foss 20:16, 20 February 2006 (GMT)
Further problems...
- Security cameras
- Hole in the barricade
- Uncontainable
- Cars for cruising across the city
Is there some sort of database issue that's causing votes to be accidentally purged? This is beginning to look malicious and directed at me, otherwise. Bentley Foss 06:12, 25 February 2006 (GMT)
- Im no mod, but it looks to me like the people clicked the edit button just after you did, then when they submitted after you and got the conflict screen, they just went on ahead and overwrote your stuff. It would explain some of it, but not the Deathnut one, which was several hours later. While it is posible he opened an edit window on soemthing and then left to do other things, it is unlikely. I have, however, done it myself on occasion on low traffic pages such as the Drunken Dead page. --Grim s 20:33, 2 March 2006 (GMT)
