Dumb Question about Humorous Suggestions

How does one go about revising suggestions they have made in humorous suggestions (the rules for humorous suggestions doesn't specify)? I assume it goes by the same rules as other suggestions (removal and subsequent re-submission with the changes), but I want to make sure before I go removing the most successful humorous suggestion I've made and make adjustments/additions. You see, I thought of some more skills for my UD Wiki Member suggestion. One of them in particular I think people will like. --Reaper with no name 16:35, 19 October 2006 (BST)

There appear to be no rules specific to that page. I'm sure that if your edits are in the spirit of the Humorous Suggestions page, then nobody will mind. Of course, this is just my opinion - I'm not a moderator or anything. (I just started editing that page because it was an unholy mess - people kept talking about updating it on the discussion page but nobody actually did anything about it.) --Funt Solo 16:53, 19 October 2006 (BST)

Deleting Humorous Suggestions

That page really is one of the most least visited corners of this wiki, as far as I can tell. As there are no rules written there, I'd guess that deletion at a tally of less than -5 is just that, straight deletion. That's what I did with this, anyway, which I guess is the suggestion you were referring to.

Let's face it - who's going to miss it?

Edit away...

Image Deletion

It's OK. There is a procedure if you're interested (see M/VB), but it's not really necessary in this case. Just leave it and in around a month or so it'll get deleted. –Xoid MTFU! 01:44, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Caiger Mall

Can you please explain this template:

Nocaiger.png Remember, Remember the 10th of November
This user or group commemorates the idiots who gave a free meal to the undead in Chudleyton / Darvall Heights by gathering in Caiger Mall to be eaten. On the 10th of November, the zombies choked the heart of Malton by ransacking Caiger Mall / BARHAH Mall.
Death to the humans, and with it, humiliation!
  1. It wasn't the heart of Malton, or even survivors resistance. It was a useless mall. There, I said it. USELESS!
  2. Humiliation? I was humiliated every time somebody said that Caiger was the symbol of human resistance.--Labine50 MH|ME|P 23:22, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
  3. ...I didn't make that one. I made this one:
Tombstone.jpg Third Siege of Caiger Mall
This user helped take down Caiger Mall!

If you want to know why I have that template on my userpage though, then that would be because I've put up anything I can find celebrating the Caiger victory, because A) I've been wanting that place to fall for months, and B) because I was in the battle. --Reaper with no name TJ! 23:26, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

I like templates, what can I say? I hope you don't mind, but I made this little template in light of the recent Anti-Caiger mood the community has taken, using the nocaiger image.

Nocaiger.JPG Caiger Mall
This user has jumped on the
Caiger sucks bandwagon.

Format!

Hey there, I fixed a minor format thing on you suggestion response. If you precede your re with a ':' to indent it, it might look alright but it'll screw up the counting. You should use a '#' instead.

E.g.

  1. 1
  2. 2
    • RE
  3. 3

vs.

  1. 1
  2. 2
  • RE
  1. 3

See what I mean? Check the code for comparison.

--burgan 21:32, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Ok, thanks. I've never quite been clear on whether we're supposed to use ":" or "*" for indenting. I saw someone else had used them both, and did the same thing. Thanks for setting me straight. --Reaper with no name TJ! 21:38, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Firing Squad

Firingsquad.jpg Firing Squad
Are that many gunmen REALLY necessary? I mean, seriously...

The idea behind the firing squad is that only one of the rifles contains a bullet, the rest are blanks. That way no one knows who actually killed the person. Keeps it civil.

Ok, thanks Burgan (don't forget to sign your posts!). That gives me an even better idea for the text. --Reaper with no name TJ! 16:45, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

Template

On the template junkies page, you replied to my inquiry about custom templates. You said you might do one depending on the content.

If you're still open to doing one, could you make one for the Palytoxin Gang? You could use this image. Title would be "w00t! Reefers!", and text would be "This user/group supports the Palytoxin Gang."

If you don't want to do it, I completely understand. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Anachronos 20:04, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for the reply. You are awesome. I'm currently discussing which options we like the best with the Gang, I'll get back to you as soon as we've reached a decision. Thanks! Anachronos 02:52, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

My suggestion

Thanks for your contributions, and your support for my idea meant a lot to me. Sadly it seemed to unleash the inner child and absolutely moronic comments and behaviour in the local cretins, including certain Mods. As such I removed it because, frankly, the local PK brigade are going to continue being wankers if I don't. --Panserbjørn 18:22, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Barricades

Barricades
This user has officially given up on trying to make a balanced barricade suggestion. Barricades should be useless, just like in real life.

I made this template: {{Barricade}} after my "Nail Gun" suggestion was shot down. By the way, are you almost ready for the 14th?--Labine50 MH|ME|P 22:09, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

New Caiger Mall Template

How does it look now? I changed the colors quite a bit and made a smaller version. Congrats on getting so many suggestions into Peer Reviewed. --Zombie slay3r 06:42, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Sure, you can make a zombie version of it. I do need to tell you that I am still adjusting some aspects of the template and waiting for some feedback from my group members. It might take a while for it to be completed. I feel that some of the text just doesn't sound right though. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions you have. --Zombie slay3r 23:12, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Templates

Hey, I think your templates are cool, and I'm surprised no one else uses them. Although I don't like the color of the calculus one, I definitely agree with it! Also, thanks for checking out my comics. I have zero skill, but I like to think my dialogue sells it! Anyway, keep making templates and I'll keep using the ones I like.--Lachryma 23:13, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

A New Horde

I was thinking of creating a new zombie horde named "Slaves Of The Mistress" (S.O.T.M for short) basically a zombie horde that only allows human members if they are fitting "slaves" who do things like tag buildings, spread their message of obedient servitude to the mistress and the like. The basic concept (sick as it may sound) is a necrophillia-friendly zombie group.. humans that are considered "undesirable" are killed and made into zombies, "desirable" humans are collared and allowed to serve, so long as it amuses the all female leadership. Key point being let's discuss this on my page.. and discuss what ideals or mission-statement etc. we could have for such a zombie horde and go from there. The #1 thing I propose: Before we make this zombie group between all of us who join there should be at least 6 female characters who are in game that actually "control" the horde. I propose zombie spies are not tolerated, but humans are expected to "spread the message" and so forth.. could be a hell of a lot of fun.. what the hell. My zombie zombie mistress is getting up there in levels and this has the whole female domination/goth thing a happening.. could be a load of fun. Even if it's not a big horde. Nobody Uses Your Templates

It is true. Stop making them, and give people a chance to catch up. You are wasting server space.--Gage 02:41, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

It's supposed to be more or less a joke. I'm actually pretty impressed with how many peoples use some of my templates. But I actually have been slowing down with the over-production, if that's your problem... --Reaper with no name TJ! 02:51, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Requesting Your Vote

I have the PK balancing suggestion I was talking about up for voting now: Lower The Ap Cost To Use Syringes On Murder Victims. If you like it I would sure appreciate your keep vote! Thanks! --Jon Pyre 04:10, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Spray Cans

I don't think that spray cans do have ammo. I'd wager hard currency that they run out based on a fixed random chance. Anything with a variable amount attached to it takes up 1 extra inventory slot for each digit: which is why radios take up 5 slots (although they don't need to, as shown here. --Funt Solo Scotland flag.JPG 21:32, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, but the thing is that we don't know that for sure (at least last I heard). It is widely believed by most (myself included) that the inventory works by a strig of characters where space is determined by the length and ammo adds an extra value (or more). But we don't know for sure. Besides, there are ways around that anyway, like what I detailed in my vote (or, make three different characters that all have the same code except that it becomes one of the others with less "ammo" when used). --Reaper with no name TJ! 03:10, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Can ya help me out?

I've been trying to get into the template making business, and I've got a couple on working on here. Notice, this are still WIPs, so try not judge too harshly. Since you seem to have a lot of experience in the area, would you mind giving me some feedback on what you think of 'em and how I can make them better? Help would much appreciated, thanks. --The Surgeon GeneralDHPD|P! 01:27, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

I've made some more changes, they're probably almost ready. What do you think? Which pizza one do you like best? --The Surgeon GeneralDHPD|P! 22:42, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Whoops. I don't know what happened, but I think I messed something up. Can you do me a favor? Can you make the first (larger) pizza template the size of the my first two templates and the last template (don't care one) a size that would acceptable? You can even change the pic size if you need to. I'm still a bit new, and learning some of the nuances of the art. If you could help me out, I'd appreciate it. --The Surgeon GeneralDHPD|P! 23:25, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Alright, I think they're all done and ready for public use. Could you give me an overview of 'em? Mostly on their text and titles, especially the last one. --The Surgeon GeneralDHPD|P! 01:11, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Um...Well, I noticed from looking at what you put on Funt Solo's talk page (I'm sooo addicted to recent changes. Somebody should make a template about that...) Anyway, it's all very impressive, and I imagine you are already working on your next Award-Winning Suggestion! EDIT: Cap'n, stay out of my conversations and don't even think of edit-conflicting me again!--Lachryma 23:23, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Shields

I thought medieval shields were reinforced wood or something, not giant metal plates. You ever try hefting 60+ pounds on your arm? Well, whatever, that suggestion is just...out there. I'd prefer katanas or flaming banana peels before swords and shields.--Lachryma 03:47, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Well, I knew swords are really heavy (around 40 pounds in some cases, right?), but I never knew the shields were pure metal too. Excuse my ignorance. But that brings me to the next issue: I thought crossbows could punch through platemail. And bullets go waaaay faster then a crossbow. So wouldn't a big bad metal shield not stop a bullet? I know car doors don't stop bullets, so why should a shield do it?--Lachryma 23:36, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Huh...interesting...So the Gunpowder Age came about from cannons destroying castle walls, not rows of riflemen slaughtering knights? That's nice to know. Your argument makes sense, so I admit defeat. But I still say that suggestion was useless, no matter the details.--Lachryma 23:30, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

This is the most drawn-out conversation I've ever had...but yes, pikes make sense. And stuff. Meanwhile, there are many, many more suggestions that have been put up since that shield one...--Lachryma 23:10, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

I'd say it had a good run.

I'm going to be a LOT less active for the next while, and that means I will not be able to continue with PFTP. If you want to try to carry it on, go right ahead, although I expect you'll want to go off to bigger and better things. Either way, good luck with future pursuits.--Labine50 MH|ME|'07 20:32, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Noooooo. Our honorable allies of PFTP are floating away ... Reaper, prevent this from happening ... --ρsych°LychεεELT 23:58, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Moved: Tangling Grasp Comment

I believe that your grip is lost if another zombie establishes a grip on the same victim. So if somebody else attacked your target after you established a grip, you next attack woul not gain any hit bonus, but could re-establish a grip. Zombies that use IRC to metagame prefer to select seperate targets for this reason. --S.Wiers X:00 19:57, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Strange, I guess my computer is broke or something. At first the template appeared white to me and then I changed the color so I could see it. Looting

I'm writing in response to your vote on http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Suggestions/7th-Apr-2007#Looting:_Bonus_for_Risky_Tactics

This doesn't provide any defensive boost to survivors, so I'm not sure how cramming into one building would help anyone. Also I think your fears of someone destroying barricades to get the looting bonus are't a really problem. A small searching bonus like this isn't worth spending an entire day's AP to break down the cades. And as for 90% being too high, remember that's just your chance of finding something. In a Necrotech that could mean finding nothing but GPS units, in a hospital nothing but newspapers. Your odds are better but not overwhelming and it only lasts for five searches or so. --Jon Pyre 07:15, 10 April 2007 (BST)
