20071204 Change radio and mobile phone text

Kolechovski 23:59, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Suggestion type
Improvement/fix. Suggestion scope
Radios/Mobile Phones. Suggestion description
Currently, the text you get when you attempt to change a radio station, broadcast a message, select a mobile phone contact, or send a mobile phone text appears inside a special box in digitized format. Although the flavor from doing so is cool, being unable to even read any of it is not. So, I recommend either changing the size of the box to a larger one, allowing the text typed within to actually be readable, or changing the size/type of the text itself, so that it is thin enough to read. I personally recommend teh first. I highly doubt it was all meant to be unreadable. Keeping the different coloring behind it is fine.

Keep Votes

  1. Keep - Because you shouldn't have to buy a bigger monitor to play UD--CorndogheroT-S-Z 00:08, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  2. Keep - Not the largest of problems although seeing what exact numbers you typed in can be a bit difficult.--Zach016 00:18, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  3. Keep - Because user friendliness is good --BlobdudeTalk TM MC 00:24, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  4. Keep- As above. --Darth LumisT! A! E! SR 00:46, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  5. Keep - it's ulgy and hard to read --WanYao 07:23, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  6. Keep - While readable for me, it is still a cosmetic sore considering how dramatic the font sizes change. –Ariedartin Talk 10:21, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  7. Keep Ever since I got firefox, I can read the text. However you shouldn't have to download a whole new browser to read the text!--SeventythreeTalk 11:39, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  8. Keep - Because you to need to see what you write. --Waterspark2 08:09, 5 December 2007 (EST)
  9. Keep I can't imagine why anyone would vote against legible text. I've had trouble reading the numbers on a variety of computers including a macbook and a large flatscreen PC. This seems almost more like a bug report than a game suggestion. --Jon Pyre 14:05, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  10. Keep - Why the hell would you vote against legible text? Even if it's already legable, why not make it MORE legible??? UCFSD 16:57, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  11. as above --~~~~ [talk] 20:26, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  12. Keep/Bug - Probably belongs in bug reports but if not, keep anyway.Studoku 00:02, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
  13. Keep Although "Ctrl+C" then "Ctrl+V" into something like Notepad works, it is kinda annoying... ~A`Blue`JellyTME*V*I*L*? 05:45, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
  14. Keep - It is hard to read, if you're not use to that crappy sort of text (I am used to it. I play a lot of NES and SNES ROMS). Being hard to read is not desirable. --Steakfish 03:59, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
  15. Keep - I've never had a problem with this myself, but I scrolled the text smaller and it does become hard to read at a medium-small size. Here's a picture to illustrate:

Still, I like the flavour of unusual text.--Toejam 01:46, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Kill Votes

Huh. Seems fine to me. I don't think there's anything wrong...Maybe you just need a bigger monitor. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 00:05, 5 December 2007 (UTC) Vote changed... --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 11:11, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

  1. Kill - The problem really depends on either your monitor size, or on just how unsure you are of your own writing. --Private Mark 01:11, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  2. Kill Is big enough - and if you really can't read it I'd suggest just cranking up the text size on the monitor (which I need to do occasionally, I really have to get new glasses) CharonX 01:21, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  3. Kill - I think it is fine the way it is, and if you can't read it maybe its because the signal the one user sent is harly understandable (like in real life) --Bring The Pain!Anti Gorefest5Fight The Pain!TMW!B! 02:25, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
    discuss on talk --Zach016 03:16, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  4. Kill - Huh? It's perfectly readable to me.--  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 04:03, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  5. Kill I can't imagine why anyone would vote for an obvious bug report. It is easy to read the numbers on a variety of computers including a Windows laptop and a small flatscreen PC. This really does seem more like a bug report than a game suggestion. --Ryiis 15:24, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  6. Kill - Maybe your monitor is old, or playing hours of text-based RPG's has melted your brain and/or your eyes. Maybe take eye-steroids. Do they have those? --Officer 123satsitx 22:40, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - It's fine, if you can't read it for some reason it's probably a bug report. --Karekmaps?! 00:29, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  2. Spam - If it talks like a bug and it walks like a big and it looks like a bug and it smells like a bug its porbably a bug and should be reported on the bug reports page accessable from the main page. No link because im having a war of words with Vantar on IRC. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 01:25, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  3. Spam - I've played UD on over a dozen monitors, big and small, wide and un-wide, and I've never had a problem.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 01:35, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  4. Spam- Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm no. I like it the way it is, GTFO and get a monitor bigger than a 1/8".-- BKM 02:26, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  5. Bug - It looks just fine here. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 06:37, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
I sacrificed some of my sanity and tried it on IE. Gotta admit, it looks awful. But still, it's a bug, not a feature. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 10:47, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  6. Bug Report - always fine on my variety of monitors, usually on Firefox without the plug-ins. Doesn't belong as a suggestion. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 09:22, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  7. It's a bug! Squish it! Squish it! --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 11:11, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  8. Bug - wow, the Bug Train. A very rare model. Mark it down, trainspotters. --Pavluk A! E! 14:33, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  9. Bug - BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ --Druuuuu Ocular 21:24, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
  10. Bug - *swat* --/~WOOT~\ 01:31, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
  11. Bug - Bug report. Only impacts people screwing with radios and phones, not everybody. (Be that as it may, it's not a monitor size issue, it's the text font that blows chunks.) -- ZEDU medic T MEMS 10:02, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
