Urban Dead Timeline

				July
			July 3rd Urban Dead goes live
		July 4th-30th Over the course of the first month, most of the game mechanics are systematically put into place. Skills, Items, Classes, and game mechanics such as Multi Abuse counter-measures and Hit Limit are introduced.
Early- to Mid-July Prior to the advent of UD Forums, the survivorgroup The Council of Leaders is formed after calls for some organized resistance against the zombies in the city.
			Mid- to Late-July The first maps of Malton are pieced together. Bounty hunting emerges and several PKer lists and a system of bounties for them is formed. Work on these list originally began in Yahoo! groups but later were transferred to forums.
				August
			August 1st The Unofficial UD Forums is lauched around this date. While unofficial, and not run by Kevan, they were considered to be the main forums for UD, and were often referred to simply as the forums.
August 2nd The survivor group PA Rebel Alliance is formed by members of the Penny Arcade forums.
		August 14th Death now causes a zombie to spend 10AP to stand up.
		August 15th The Advanced Pistol Training and Advanced Shotgun Training skils are added for Survivors The Rend Flesh skill is added for Zombies.
August 15th The Undying Scourge is formed.
Mid-August The zombie horde The Many is formed, recruiting heavily from the somethingaweful forums.
Mid-August The group Red-eye Republic is founded.
		August 20th A Contacts List is added for every character.
August 25th The survivor group Axes High is formed.
				September
September 1st The survivor group The Fortress is formed.
		September 3rd Mark II" Revivification Syringes are introduced. Revivified Zombies now stand as Survivors with half of their total available HP rather than half of their HP immediately prior to revival.
September 5th Democratic Armed Republic of Independent Suburbs (DARIS) is formed.
			September 7th UDWiki goes live.
		September 8th Characters from your Contacts List will now show up in a stack of dead bodies or a stack of Zombies.
September 9th The Shearbank Liberation Army (SLA) is formed in response to DARIS's declaration of independence for the suburb of Shearbank.
September 12th The groups The Stanbury Renegades and United Territories Federation are founded.
		September 16th Headshot now reduces a zombie's XP by 10 per level instead of reducing it to zero.
September 18th Minions of the Apocalypse is formed.
	September 19th The Siege of Giddings Mall takes place in Pitneybank. It is viewed as one of the first survivor victories.
			September 20th Desensitized, a UD forum is launched around this date and amidst problems with The Unofficial UD Forums. Later, it is home to the the Rogues Gallery and Zerg Listes.
		September 24th The Zombie skill Infectious Bite is added.
September 24th The Ridleybank Resistance Front is formed around this time during The Rise of Ridleybank. The horde goes on to be one of the longest lasting Urban Dead groups in history.
		September 29th XP drainage caused by Headshot only affects Zombies level 2 or higher. The zombie skill Ankle Grab is added.

October The groups Axes High and Shambling Seagulls are founded.
October 2nd The survivor group Creedy Defense Force is formed.
	October 16th October Battle of Fort Creedy drives the Creedy Defense Force from Fort Creedy.
Late-October The Ministry of the Dead is formed, a unified zombie horde comprised of members of RRF, The Undying Scourge, MotA and other well-known zombie hordes.
October 24th The group Roftwood Assault Force is founded.
October 28th The group Drunken Dead is founded.
	October 29th Dia de los Muertos takes place at Giddings Mall in Pitneybank.
				November
			November 1st The Novermber 2005 issue of PC Gamer UK features an article about Urban Dead. Later, in Janurary, the game is featured in the US version of the magazine.
			November 2nd Brainstock, an unofficial yet popular UD Forum is created.
November 6th The group Dulston Defense Death Squad is founded.
	November 10th The First Siege of Caiger Mall begins.
		November 18th Generator mechanic is added.
Late November The group Channel 4 News Team is founded during the First Siege of Caiger Mall.
		November 22nd Mobile Phone Mast mechanic is added.
				December
	December 2nd The First Siege of Caiger Mall ends with the first survivor victory over a coordinated zombie assault.
	December 19th On Strike hosts Stanstock at Whetcombe Park in Stanbury Village.
				2006
				January
	January 3rd Mall Tour '06 begins at Stickling Mall.
Mid-January The group Alliance of Giddings is founded.
	January 29th Mall Tour '06 ends with the start of the Second Siege of Caiger Mall.
				February
	Feburary 14th The Valentine's Day Massacre, one of the earliest PK massacres, occurs in the Whatmore Building in Yagoton.
February 18th The group Eastonwood Ferals is founded.
				March
Mid-March The group FedCom: Urban Dead is founded.
	March 19th The Second Siege of Caiger Mall ends with a survivor victory.
Late March The group Shambling Seagulls is disbanded.
		March 28th NecroTech Revivification Syringes increase from 1 AP to 10 AP to use.
				April
April 1st Survivor group The Randoms is formed.
		April 1st In the first April Fool's joke, werewolves and vampires appear in the game.
	April 14th The Battle of the Bear Pit begins.
		April 29th Ransacking mechanic is added.
				May
May 9th The group PA Rebel Alliance is disbanded.
				June
		June 1st The radio mechanic is added. It is refined over the course of the month.
			June 1st Resensitized is launched after the Desensitized forum is brought down. The Zerg Liste and Rogues Gallery are carried over from Desensitized.
	Mid June The Battle of the Bear Pit ends with a survivor victory.
		Late June Various zombie mechanics are added or revised.
				July
	July 3rd First anniversary of the outbreak.
July 3rd The group Alliance of Giddings is disbanded.
				August
	August 18th The Battle of Blackmore begins.
		August 20th The binoculars and gesture mechanics are added, and knives are revised.
				September
Late September The group (To The) Four Winds is founded.
				October
	October 13th The Battle of Blackmore ends in a zombie victory.
	October 24th The Third Siege of Caiger Mall begins.
		October 31st The existence of fog masks several minor game updates.
				November
	November 10th The Third Siege of Caiger Mall ends in a zombie victory, the first time Caiger Mall fell into zombie hands.
November 10th The group The Caiger Resistance Front is founded.
		November 20th Major changes to fort layouts due to intervention by the external military.
				December
		December 18th Christmas Trees and Lights are added to the game.

				January
	January 14th Mall Tour '07 begins with the fall of Calvert Mall.
January 18th On Strike reappears at Whetcombe Park.
		January 19th Several game updates occur.
January 27th The group Flat Earth Society is founded.
				February
February 3rd The Militant Order of Barhah forms.
	February 24th The event Open Air is held at Quartly Library, leaving the building open as a no kill zone until March 19th.
				March
		March 6th Museum décor, encumbrance, and sports store weapons mechanics are added.
				April
		April 1st The second April Fool's joke brings airstrikes and battle tanks to the game.
	April Mall Tour '07 ends.
April The group Dulston Defense Death Squad is disbanded.
	April 8th The Battle of Santlerville begins.
				May
	May 25th The Battle of Santlerville ends with a survivor victory.
				June
			June 18th Yahoo features an article which inspires 4000 new players to join Urban Dead.
			June 19th The day after Yahoo's article, Digg.com also features an article, further prompting new users to sign up for the game.
	June 19th Players celebrate the new arrivals to Malton in an event later called Yahoomas.
June 19th LUE forms.

	July 24th The Quartly Study Group goes On Tour.
	July 29th The Battle of SantLUEville begins.
				August
	August 8th The Battle of SantLUEville ends with a zombie victory.
		August 14th Ruin and toolbox mechanics are added.
				September
			September 8th The millionth character is created.
				October
	October 4th The Second Big Bash begins.
				November
				December
	December Both Fort Perryn and Fort Creedy fall to the Second Big Bash.
	July 24th The Quartly Study Group On Tour event ends.

February The group LUE is disbanded.
			Febuary 25th Monroeville, Urban Dead's first perma-death city goes live.
February 25th The dead of Dunell Hills is founded.
February 29th The dead of Dunell Hills transforms into The Dead.
				March
	March 6th The March of The Dead begins.
	March 25th The March of the Dead ends, having set several records for zombie successes.
			March 30th The first quarantine of Monroeville is enacted. New Monroeville character creation is disabled.
				April
		April 1st A facebook parody appears for players as the third April Fool's joke.
	April 3rd The Second Big Bash officially ends.
April The group Roftwood Assault Force is disbanded.
				May
		May 28th The decay and darkness mechanics and some minor tweaks are added.
				June
June 11th The group Flat Earth Society is disbanded.
			June 13th The quarantine of Monroeville is lifted, and players can again create new characters.
				July
				August
			August 15th The second (and permanent) quarantine of Monroeville is enacted. New Monroeville character creation is disabled permanently.
				September
				October
October 1st The group Eastonwood Ferals is disbanded.
		October 14th New zombie mechanics, flesh rot and digestion, as well as other mechanics, are added.
			October 28th Borehamwood opens to character creation.
				November
			November 28th Borehamwood goes under quarantine and character creation is disabled.

		April 1st The fourth (and, so far, final) April Fool's joke made it seem like life might be returning to normal in Malton.
