20071210 Suicide By Firearm

--Worthog117 16:00, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Suggestion type
improvement

Suggestion scope
Survivors who don't ant to do suicide by jumping from a window (ie ones who want to die quickly)

Suggestion description
IU hate going to the right building, if i have little AP left and there no tall buildings, id love to shoot myself, It can happen anywhere BUT if you commit suicide in a building its like this "You go to the roof, you look down, you put the gun to your head, you hear a gunshot and nothing else" (ie you shoot yourself and fall off the building)also, I thank whitehouse for reminding me, you can do this feature anywhere, there will be a button added (only if the firearm has ammo) and the warning smiler to the jumping from the window

Keep Votes

  1. Bang - This would add some flavour to the dull and broring act of jumping from a window, however this whole suggestion looks a little half-baked and impulsive. Try a rerun! --the wallaby 16:37, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
  2. As the above --Happy doodle 16:46, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
  3. Keep Suicide in non-tall building. I actually like it. The "shoot self in head" idea isn't new, but your idea that it takes the person outside is. That prevents this from being used by survivors that want to become zombies inside of buildings to attack the people within. Just make "self" a target in the attack drop down menu. --Jon Pyre 18:00, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
  4. Keep What's the reason suicide is restricted? Anyway, adds to the flavor for people who don't want to jump and helps players who want to be zombies get back to being zombies before getting free running. Although it if it forced you outside it wouldn't detract from the suggestion.--Karekmaps?! 18:02, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
  5. Keep - As long as you end up outside. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 19:46, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
  6. Keep - This will do, but personally I would prefer to be able to jump from any building, thus eliminating part of the AP wastage which combat reviving forces upon its victims. Oh and Druuuuu, coming from someone who claims to be on an anti-idiocy campaign, yours is possibly the single most idiotic reason for a 'Kill' vote that I have ever read. Suicide in this game is restricted to tall buildings, so what exactly do you think happens to not just your face but your whole body when you fall or jump from a tall building? --The Hierophant 20:51, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
  7. BOOM SUICIDAL HEADSHOT! - Sounds good, I hated that I needed to find a tall building always when I wanted to get a zed skill.--Vortexx 21:08, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
  8. keep - I like! Also, killers, do you have no idea what happens to a zombie when they get a headshot, yeah their brains get blown out, but somehow they can still stand up and be revived. End point is that you can come back from a headshot and when you jump off a building, you're already jam on the sidewalk, but guess whatm that's right you can stand up again and be revived. Also for the junkyard problem why not say: you stand at the top of some junk overlooking the outside of the junkyard and pull the trigger, you fall over the fence. Problem solved. Acoustic Pie 21:18, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
  9. Keep - I like. Also, I second what the Pie said. --Nikitis 22:04, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
  10. Keep/Change - Make "self" a target for weapons--CorndogheroT-S-Z 23:58, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
  11. Keep - Suicide, Sui- self | cid- to cut,to kill! he he, silly latin --Bring The Pain!Anti Gorefest5Fight The Pain!TMW!B! 00:43, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
  12. Weak Keep- I really don't mind.. --Darth LumisT! A! E! SR 01:49, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
  13. Gravity is good enough - When combined with the ground and a high place.Studoku 02:33, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
  14. Keep Yo, people in Kill? How do you think a Zombie can still be revived after taking tons of headshots from a pistol? Or a shotgun? Or an Axe? This I have no problem with... ~A`Blue`JellyTME*V*I*L*? 04:10, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
  15. Author Keep I think this feature4 NEEDS to be in Urbanm Dead, its conviniant, and allso, "Kill voters" I bet you have not even read my suggestion!!! --Worthog117 21:57, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
  16. Keep Are you kill-voters stupid in the head? 'Duh, how can you revive from a shot to the head?' http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Headshot#List_of_Zombie_Hunter_skills is my answer. 'Duh, at least you don't have your head spread out on the cement after jumping off a building.' Uh-huh. So a human being falling off a 100+ feet building at near-terminal velocity doesn't get his head explodified? And why is suicide restricted to certain buildings? Oh yeah, Karek. STFU. You knew people who shot themselves, yeah, great. I know people who've been shot. Am I crying about pk groups who - GASP - shoot other 'human' characters? Shut up. Firestorm 23:14, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

Ahh, my mistake...I thought you were someone else. Again, my apologies. Firestorm

Kill Votes

  1. Kill- Suicide is restricted to certain buildings for a reason. -- BKM 16:51, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
  2. Kill - Suicide is restricted to certian buildings for a reason, though the suggestion itself is interesting by it's very nature. --Ryiis 17:25, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
  3. Kill - suicide must always leave you outside (to avoid zombie incursion by survivor suicide squad) - this suggestion doesn't specify that caveat. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 17:48, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
"(ie you shoot yourself and fall off the building)" I'm pretty sure falling off a building leaves you outside. Last I checked anyway. --Druuuuu Oc 18:15, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
It also says you can do it anywhere. It's ambiguous as to whether that also meant falling out of a building. Like, how do you fall out of a junkyard, exactly? --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 19:13, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
  4. Kill - How do they get their face back when they're revived? At least when you jump from a building, your entire face isn't spread around a 50 foot region. --Druuuuu Oc 18:39, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
  5. Kill - As above. Omega 20:59, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
  6. Kill - Suicide makes the "hack" needed to make revival part of the genre even more ridiculous/unrealistic - if you blow your brains out, you could not become a zombie. --Pgunn 21:04, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
  7. 'Kill - As first kill vote.--  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 21:37, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
  8. Kill - Sounds more like a way to delete your character, if that's what you intended by shooting yourself in the head. Zombies can't live without a head either, remember? --Private Mark 04:25, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
  9. Kill - As above. And this is a bit incoherent.--Pdeq 04:51, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
  10. Change - Private Mark has a point. However, he also gives me an idea. Since you're basically Headshot-ing yourself, why not also implement the Headshot penalty for suicide by this nature, so that suicide by jumping is still seen as a better alternative? –Ariedartin Talk 05:04, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
There's one more issue. Forts can be too easily undermined by players who come through the gatehouse, go into another fort building, and shoot themselves in the head. It doesn't matter that they fall out of the armoury or infirmary or barracks or vehicle depot - they can still take out the gatehouse guards and afterward tear down the barricades to open the fort up for ferals and other groups. Headshot penalty or not, it creates an imbalanced security threat that makes forts less like survivor havens and more like ready-made packs of harman jerky. Not cute at all. We definitely need some change here. Making them invariably fall off the fort below the gatehouse is one. Heh heh. But highly unrealistic. ~AriedartinTalkA KS J abt all 17:20, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
  11. I like Ariedartin's addition. I don't get the impression the kill voters read the suggestion too well. It says you go to the roof, shoot yourself and fall of (ie. outside). As for the "arguments" about losing your face and getting revived, uh, that's ALREADY a part of the game (Headshot?). The only consideration is what Funt said about certain locations without, essentially, roofs. But if a place can be barricaded can it be assumed to have a roof?--Pesatyel 05:56, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
  12. Kill - Maybe if you changed it to only tall buildings.--SeventythreeTalk 12:25, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
  13. Kill - Abuse potential. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 19:02, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Kill Suicide is a fact of life. I knew someone who shot themselves last month. People in high-stress situations do it all the time, but this is a recreational game. I'm not letting this go through. -SecImproper signature.--Karekmaps?! 06:24, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
  14. Kill As per Funt Solo. It'll seem like a great idea to those who voted Keep until a squad of Death Cultists appears in their building and immediately swap to their preferred forms. Iscariot 15:31, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
  15. Kill - As said above. -J. A. 16:33, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
  16. Kill - Per BoboKilledMe Inky 03:03, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

  18. Kill - The last thing I want to do is be able to accidentially kill myself in any environ. --Vandurn 14:33, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - not only the flavour makes no sense, but suicide is restricted to certain buildings for a reason. --Pavluk A! E! 16:01, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
