Suggestion description
Zombie movies normally have the victim get surrounded, mortally wounded, and then feasted upon while they're still alive. I suggest replicating this by encouraging zombies to use bite attacks on survivors at low health.
I propose a new subskill of Vigour Mortis called something like "Killing Feast" or a better name, that'd cause bite attacks to deal 1 additional point of damage against survivors with 10hp or less. This 25% boost would make bite the ideal choice against gravely wounded survivors. Bite attacks against survivors with 11 or more hp would not be affected by this skill, and would continue to do 4 damage.

Keep Votes
- Keep Because a zombie killing should always end with the zombie eating you. --Jon Pyre 14:41, 22 June 2008 (BST)
- Keep I must admit the keep vote is based entirely on my initial reaction without thinking, but i do like the flavour, both of this suggestion and dying harman.--RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 14:52, 22 June 2008 (BST)
- keep - i agree with jon Pyre--Minigun4523 20:03, 22 June 2008 (BST)
- Keep - If I'm going to get fucked over, I might as well get fucked over in genre. --Vandurn 21:59, 22 June 2008 (BST)
- Keep - bite attacks should be encouraged, zombies are carnivores of some sort after all.--James beckerson 22:15, 22 June 2008 (BST)
- Keep - Cool. --Pvt human 10:39, 23 June 2008 (BST)

- Keep - Nice. --Heretic144 17:07, 23 June 2008 (BST)
- Keep - as Rosslessness. Also, if you are at 10hp with an active zombie on you, you should be dead soon. I view this more as a flavor improvement. -- LABIA on the INTERNET Dunell Hills Corpseman #24 - |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| TMG 00:31, 24 June 2008 (BST)

- Keep - This is, in a way, pure flavor improvement... just like Gardenator said.... o/\o --/~Rakuen~\Talk I Still Love Grim 18:53, 25 June 2008 (BST)
- Keep - Ungrasped the bite attack does equivalent damage/AP to a claws attack. Grasped it does more but this would almost certainly not be a huge change to a mortally wounded survivor's chances of living (slim) or the overall game balance. Voting keep cause I'm down with the flavor and it has limited use. --Riseabove 09:56, 26 June 2008 (BST)
- keep - reminds me of that jackass getting killed at the end of day of the dead. --Scotw 18:57, 30 June 2008 (BST)
- Keep - zombies need to eat sometime don't they? --HighlandZHunter 16:12, 6 July 2008 (BST) Late vote struck. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 12:23, 7 July 2008 (BST)
Kill Votes
- I like the current system, thank you. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 14:51, 22 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill - voting against a zombie buff? hell yeah. first off, i can think of sooooo many examples where zombies grab their victims and tear them to pieces with their hands, stuffing their blue mouths with entrails grabbed before the victim is in a bazillion pieces. or sometimes a mob attacks both hands AND bites. but it's not consistent. secondly, this conflicts with Feeding Drag and could actually be seen as a big nerf to it -- discourages feeding drag in favour of straight killing. not cool. --WanYao 15:03, 22 June 2008 (BST)
- Re Feeding Drag is worse than killing the survivor outright. It's what a zombie does if they run of AP so they can leave their target outside for others to finish off. People would still use feeding drag when they're running out of AP. This is just a 25% boost to bite, it won't guarantee you can kill them. Or, if someone wants to leave a survivor they could kill outside so newbie zombies can level up they can still do that. This won't force anyone to bite rather than drag --Jon Pyre 15:29, 22 June 2008 (BST)
- That is not how Feeding Drag is used, not in an organised horde, anyway. The Desperation Drag is a rarity, it's much more common with ferals. And, the reasons for using FD or not using it in any given situation are actually a bit more complicated that what people said on the talk page. And let's burn the silly straw man of your last sentence: I never said this forces anyone to bite, it encourages it... Feeding Drag is iffy anyway, why make it even less appealling for a feral to use? --WanYao 21:50, 22 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill - I think it's a nice idea but for numerous reasons I don't like it, the fact that it's a third tier combat skill is a big one.--Karekmaps?! 15:13, 22 June 2008 (BST)
- Re It's not third tier, it's second. I propose making it a subskill of Vigour Mortis. --Jon Pyre 15:29, 22 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill - As much as I like the idea, the fact that I wouldn't use it tells me to kill it. Why risk the bite when a claw attack will stand a better chance of hitting? The only time I could see this being used is if I had 1 AP left and a survivor with 4 or 5 AP, and then I'll just drag 'em. --Atticus 15:39, 22 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill - Nom nom nom. This suggestion is unnecessary. Billy Club Thorton T! RR 20:04, 22 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill - I'm with Atticus on this one. --Sir Bob Fortune RR 20:46, 22 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill - As above. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 20:54, 22 June 2008 (BST)
- It just seems to banal. It allows, essentially for the potential for 1 additional XP collected. That's really all this does. At MOST 2 XP. Hardly an inducement to use bite, since your still limited to the same chance to hit to get it. And I say 1 XP because the chance of landing 2 bites with 10 HP is pretty low, especially if you factor in Tangling Grasp.--Pesatyel 21:09, 22 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill - I'd rather have a boost in accuracy than damage. --ZsL 23:23, 22 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill - Although I like the idea of having zombies finish off people with biting, I do think there are other ways to do this. Perhaps 'Digestion' should be needed to heal from attacks when survivors are not in this state, and any zombie heals from a successful bite on a mortally wounded survivor? --Blake Firedancer T E RNL? P.I.S.I.T. 11:14, 23 June 2008 (BST)
- RE/Kill - I'd be more likely to vote keep for something along those lines. I don't like this suggestion F4tal3rror 17:17, 23 June 2008 (BST)Non-author RE struck. --Aeon17x 17:22, 23 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill - Complicates mechanics, for very little effect --Explodey 11:51, 23 June 2008 (BST)
- Kill - Bite attacks currently can heal the zombie, infect the survivor, and are higher damage than a claw attack already. They're high-powered already - and do not need an additional buff. Also, As Funt, but I don't believe in voting Spam unless it's utterly ridiculous. --Tselita 17:57, 23 June 2008 (BST)

- Kill - Pointless buff - Zig13 - 2/07/2008 at 09:41(BST)
- Kill - I see you're idea, but the problem is that bites are already quite powerful to a full-level zombie as it, for reasons others have mentioned. Besides, why not just drag that survivor into the streets for the babies who lack powerful bites to take care of. They'll rip 'em apart anyhow! Unsigned vote struck. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 12:23, 7 July 2008 (BST)
Spam/Dupe Votes
- Spam - this is already in the game. When survivors are at low health, they get attacked by lots of zombies. Giving the zombies extra power in those attacks is just a buff for no reason. (Why not let survivors have a bonus against low HP zombies, because they've been 'slowed down'? No? Then, not this either. Play fair.) --Funt Solo QT 20:35, 22 June 2008 (BST)
- Spam - As Funt. -- THELORDGUNSLINGER 19:04, 23 June 2008 (BST)
- SpaM - As Funt, Dick and Tselita --Frednotyetdead 13:12, 25 June 2008 (BST)
- Dupe - This has been addressed in the frequently suggested page. Bites are already powerful, but doing high damage, giving high xp, and changing state (infecting). changing anything else messes up the mechanics.Tylerisfat 02:52, 7 July 2008 (BST) Late vote struck. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 12:23, 7 July 2008 (BST)
