20070824 Zombies can freerun through ruined buildings

Jonny12 talk 11:10, 24 August 2007 (BST)

Suggestion type
Skill/change

Suggestion scope
Zombies

Suggestion description
With this change, zombies can buy a skill "clamber" for the standard 100XP which allows them to freerun through ruined buildings:

  • The target building cannot be a large building,
  • Both buildings must be ruined.

Thanks to Seventythree, Swiers, Pavluk and Duke Garland for feedback on the original.

Keep Votes

  1. Jonny12 talk 11:10, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Weak keep Okay, only ruined buildings. Although, it's another boost to the already overpowered zombie base. Glenstone 11:19, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Keep - because the walls are destroyed --~~~~T''' 12:03, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Keep - As long as the in-game flavour only mentions "clambering" and not "zombie free-running." --  T   12:04, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  5. Keep - Let's all go Zombierunning!--Seventythree 13:01, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  6. Keep --Karloth Vois RR 13:39, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  7. Keep - Not a bad idea. Quite unique. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 14:02, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  8. Keep - I like it. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 14:07, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  9. Keep - Makes ruin more useful without being overpowered. Ruin reflects the fact that zombies have become territorial. This skill helps them "guard" their territory. -- Pavluk 00:23, 25 August 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. ??? - It's an interesting idea, but the flavor just isn't there, and it really doesn't seem to make that much sense. BoboTalkClown 16:29, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill - Zombies... can't walk through walls. Neither can they fly... so how would they do that? -- Bop 11:22, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - Sorry charlie. --Sonny Corleone RRF CoL DORIS CRF pr0n 11:26, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill - Zombies are not agile. How can they free run? --Pdeq 11:39, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill - And pigs can fly. Regardless of the semantics or wording, I don't like the suggestion whatsoever. --Ryiis 13:30, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  6. Kill - What. The. Fug. I'm going a step further, what the heck is the point? Let me put it this way. Ruined buildings=no survivors or cades. No survivors or cades=no XP for zombies. So let me get this straight: Let them move through buildings pointlessly, only to emerge at another location... WHERE THEY COULD'VE WALKED FOR LESS AP? This suggestion makes no mathematical or logical sense. Nalikill 13:32, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  7. Given that I obviously feel that survivors should not be able to free into ruined buildings, it would make no sense for me to vote to allow zombies to do so. SIM Core Map.png Swiers 14:15, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  8. Kill - Impossible to visualise how this would work. --Pgunn 15:13, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  9. Kill Not realistic, at all. Zombies are poor walkers to begin with, and definately not agile.      Ekashp wuz here (aht harman bra!nz!)        15:53, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  10. Kill - As above. --Saluton 16:57, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  11. Kill - Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. --The Hierophant 17:03, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  12. Kill - Why would zombies want to free run? And how would they do it? --Nikitis 18:01, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  13. Kill - There is no reason why zombie should free-run--  Savant  Chit-Chat  19:31, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  14. Kill - Zombies are dessicated corpses, and as such they arent very good at jumping. Hell, they cant even kill themselves when jumping from a window they suck that hard at it. No. Zombies are not agile. --The Grimch Mod-U! 20:39, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  15. Kill - My 2 zombie characters say No! Just no! -- John RubinT! ZG FER 21:23, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  16. Kill - Stupid and pointless.--Karekmaps?! 23:07, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  17. Kill - I would imagine that zombies have a more difficult time walking into a rubble-filled building. After all, they are quite clumsy. --Vkkhamul 01:31, 25 August 2007 (BST)
  18. Kill - I kind of like it. I just can't imagine any sort of realistic reason it should exist. In most cases, I would vote keep for a suggestion that was more "fun" than "realistic." This one is just so disconnected from reality that I can't do it. --Steakfish 03:20, 25 August 2007 (BST)
  19. Weak Kill It's a good idea, but no. Zombies shouldn't be able to free run. Sorry dude, nice try. --Secruss 03:38, 25 August 2007 (BST)
  20. Kill - I want to keep. I really do. I just cannot. The only way zombies can do this is if survivors can too. --Druuuuu 05:37, 25 August 2007 (BST)
  21. Kill - Way, way out of genre. Zombies are uncordinated, shambling, Undead Creatures who can't even jump, let alone free run. --Sonofagun18 05:55, 25 August 2007 (BST)
  22. Weetaded - A corpse can't freerun. I can't freerun. Nor can you. --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 06:08, 25 August 2007 (BST)
  23. BLAM - Headshot this suggestion, as above. --Private Mark 17:09, 25 August 2007 (BST)
  24. Weak Kill - No thanks. I can understand your reasoning, but in its current form, this just isn't believable. If you want, we can work on this a bit more on my talk page. --Hhal 20:24, 25 August 2007 (BST)
  25. Kill - Let survivors keep their advantage in movement, zombies their advantage in being able to stand up and fight.--Insomniac By Choice 20:47, 25 August 2007 (BST)
  26. KILL IT It makes no sense noobs (except scouts) cant freerun into the building but zombies can--Doctor Oberman 17:07, 26 August 2007 (BST)
KILL - The zombies don;t need anything else. besides, zombies can't freerun anyway. Unsigned Vote --Karekmaps?! 13:16, 2 September 2007 (BST)
  27. Kill for the reasons given by the other users.-- Vista  +1  11:35, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  28. Zombies can't freerun. I think that's been decided already. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 23:01, 6 September 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam!!! - what kind of crack monkey suggestion is this??? you can't be serious, can you? WTF is the point of a zombie free-running, they don't need shelter?!! this suggestion doesn't even DO anything! like, why don't you just suggest the utlimate new character class: THE ZOMBIE NINJA!!! that or, like, lay off the crappy drugs. this seriously has to be the single most retarded of all the retarded suggestions i've seen...... --WanYao 01:44, 25 August 2007 (BST)
Re: It's a suggestion for a game. Don't get so worked up, unless of course it makes you feel like a big man. Jonny12 talk 12:28, 25 August 2007 (BST)
Who's "worked up"? It's a totally moronic suggestion for a game, and absolutely worthy of merciless mockery. Either don't suggest crap, or suck it up. Princess. --WanYao 23:54, 1 September 2007 (BST)
  2. No. - However weak of an update it may be, the very last thing this game needs right now is another zombie update.--Labine50 MHG|MEMS 03:51, 25 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Spam - I can't really see zombies jumping from building to building, climbing destroyed stairs etc. --Abi79 AB 21:08, 25 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Spam I don't see how something that is decaying- and is less agile than most klutzes - doing the gymnastics required to FR through buildings. Also, WHY would a greenie WANT to do that? --Driaquer 05:43, 29 August 2007 (BST)
