A Suburb is a named 10 block by 10 block subsection in the city of Malton. There are 100 suburbs in Malton, arranged in a 10 by 10 grid.

In the game, the suburb you are in is given at the top of the 3x3 map showing your immediate environment. There is no special procedure for moving from one suburb to another - simply keep walking and you will find yourself in a new suburb. If your map has fewer than nine squares, you are at one of the boundaries of Malton itself, not simply the boundary of a suburb.

A list of well known (and not so well known) nicknames for the many suburbs of our fair city can be found here.

Reports

No survivor activity, very few zombies wandering around the outside. Most buildings need 70+ AP to repair. Time for Ghost Town, I think. -Leeksoup 16:21, 11 August 2008 (BST)
Safehouses, entrypoints plentiful; resource buildings largely powered and well-caded; ruins few; free-running lanes mostly uninterrupted. Zombies still active/present – break-ins not uncommon, especially at NT building, but dealt with quickly and neatly. - Mac Howard 01:48, 9 August 2008 (BST)
Dulston prove itself to be the safest human stronghold once again. Due to valiant effort of survivors, all the zombies were driven out of the Northestern area. All buildings are now firmly in human hands. Cheers! -- Kittithaj 15:05, 8 August 2008 (BST)
Laiz. There are still zombies in Dullston. Brains were eaten just last night, and more will be consumed as soon as inhumanly possible. In fact, Dullston is a wonderful place for upwardly mobile young zambahz looking to establish themselves. Sure, headshots in the street abound, but there are always risks! However, the streets of Dullston are literally paved with fresh, jiggly brains[1] -- well worth the extra effort! And then there is the prime real estate: you can reap great profits with only a minimal investment in skylights, sliding patio doors and other "open air" renovations -- just find a partner to go in with. Yes, Dullston is the place to be! --WanYao 15:17, 8 August 2008 (BST)

Tompson has 3 corners up and running, but SW corner still infested with the undead.--Ryan Quicksilver 9:55, 5 August 2008 (BST)

This information is doubtfull or deprecated. 5 August 2008 in morning Tompson Mall was ruined as several resource buildings around. Report on Lockettside page from Grogh is more accurate. - Bug MacLock 12:52, 6 August 2008 (BST)
As expected the RRF has decided that Dowdney Mall is still considered a human safe spot. And oh do they hate that, most of the buildings including the Hall Building and the Dewes Building are under attack by 10+ groups and growing. Reported groups of 30 are confirmed. Please move up to dangerous level and expect very dangerous soon. -- Lemonie Wednesday 7:35:25 July 30 (EST)
Suburb is very safe, the MOB has moved out a few weeks ago now, Marven is EHB, with full generators. Revive points in the west are full, with some rotters. Linkthewindow 07:33, 18 August 2008 (BST)
As the MCDU continue their reclamation, there is a high likelihood that the suburb will be reclaimed to green within the next week. Even as zombies remain on the street, they are being pushed back. Recommend status change to Yellow, then Green. - EchelonThree 15:23, 15 July 2008 (BST)
Many of the buildings along the Scarletwood-Danversbank border are ruined and both hospitals are under constant attack. At a glance, the streets of Scarletwood don't appear to be that dangerous but Luellin Towers [72-89] seems to be the site of some kind of undead convention, currently hosting 27 zombies. A headcount of total undead in the suburb exceeds 60 but they seem to be moderately contained in the south of the suburb for now. Recommend suburb status be watched closely and changed from yellow to orange if the dead start moving and branching out. - Dr Killdare 5:29, 26 July, 2008 (EST)
