The NecroTech logo hangs broken above the front desk, and doors open onto a number of blood stained laboratories and computer rooms.
Description
The Whitlock Building, aka "The Fortress of Science", is a NecroTech facility located in the suburb of Dulston. Though a faceless corporate structure to the uninitiated, this facility has been long considered the primary manufacturer of Revivification Syringes for NecroTech within Dulston. Outfitted with NecroTech's latest automated mass-production laboratories, staff here work night and day to produce a large stockpile of syringes capable of dealing with any major zombie outbreaks.
The Whitlock Building, at twenty-five stories, is the third-tallest building in the suburb of Dulston, with only the Parrott Towers at thirty-three and Andow Towers at imposing fifty-eight reaching greater heights. The building was named after a co-founder of NecroTech and a native of the area, Professor Graham Whitlock, and as such the man's image- complete with ridiculous handlebar mustache- can be found hanging all over the building. Some of the paintings' eyes have been reported to move at times, but this is of course a ridiculous concept. Professor Whitlock was notable in that he developed the original chemical compound, icenodrine sceptimus, that eventually (through heavy experimentation) became the secondary catalyst in the common-day NecroTech Revive Syringe, as well as the secret ingredient in Coca-Cola.
Noted NecroTech scientist, Caleb Usher, received his first promotion here, to 1st-class lab technician, as a reward for his all his efforts in establishing improved information networks throughout Dulston and Pescodside. This was considered a NecroTech PR victory by senior executives, as they felt their corporate image had suffered due to the rumors of NecroTech's involvement in the current pandemic, namely the "Malton Incident". NecroTech staff here often work in tangent with research personnel stationed at the Bridgman Building to the northwest, but just as often send scientific staff into Rhodenbank to work at the Starr Building or the Carlyle Building due to common interests in syringe manufacturing research.
Then in early-2007, Caleb Usher returned and spent significant time at the Whitlock Building while working on his new thesis, "Malton Siege Tactics: A Theorem Basis for Survival Attrition versus Zombie Mental Exhaustion (i.e. Boredom)". Caleb touted that his thesis, once completed and analyzed by the scientific community, would help explain basic principles by which survivors could survive even the largest and most determined zombie sieges. "It's simply a matter of factoring in specific zombie mental variables. As you can see here my study graphs indicate that zombie resolve in any endeavor weakens progressively over time, but when interacting with positive mental stimulus events, like successfully breaching barricades, it reverts the decline significantly although still proportional to the level of success. Therefore one could postulate that if sieging zombies were prevented from obtaining this 'success' stimulus that eventually they would depart in order to seek it elsewhere. Zombies cannot die, but they can apparently be bored to death, so to speak. Am I boring you? You look bored-"
In April 2007 the Whitlock Building won the hearts of Electric Light Torchestra and they have claimed it as their headquarters since. The survivor group is well-known for their efforts in maintaining Dulston's power grid and its members can be seen all over the suburb until they return "home" for some light sleep.
As of January 2008 the Whitlock Building also became the HQ and name-giver to the survivor group known as Whitlock Assist and Rescue (W.A.R.), which later to became known as Whitlock Initiative for Zombie Revivification and Deliverance (W.I.Z.A.R.D.). However in January 2009, a year later, the group had officially disbanded with several of its original members joining Dulston Alliance groups which worked towards protecting the "Fortress of Science".
Mandate
NecroTech staff continue to follow Directive 42-A, issued by the head office on January 19th 2006, with the activation and manufacture of MK-II revivification syringes. They have been charged with governing the Duport Avenue revivification zone and seeing to the restoration of life to all zombies located therein.
The activation of NecroNet with all NecroTech buildings has also allowed scientists to apply the DNA tracking research they have gathered to date. Standard protocol dictates that all staff be equipped with a standard issue DNA Extractor to tag any zombies they come across during field research.
Affiliates
To date research staff at the Whitlock Building are working hand-in-hand with survivors located in nearby resource buildings, namely:
- Treweeke Mall (92,7 x 93,8)
- St. Anacletus's Hospital (93,3)
- Gable Walk Fire Station (89,5), in Rhodenbank
It should also be noted that, due to rotating shifts, NecroTech staff commonly move between the Bridgman Building (91,2), the Wallbutton Building (89,3), the Carlyle Building (89,4) and the Starr Building (89,6). The Electric Light Torchestra can also be turned to for help, as they maintain the building by keeping it powered and barricaded.
Barricade Policy
This building's barricade level has been designated as EHB in the Dulston Optimal Defense Diagram, a strategic barricade policy that is enforced by all member groups of the Dulston Alliance.
NecroNet Reports
The following zombie tracking reports are a free service provided by the NecroTech corporation to all its staff and local survivors in order to help facilitate quicker response times when managing zombie threats and to build a greater awareness of zombie migration patterns within the 9x9 block region around the Whitlock Building. As a cautious reminder, only those zombies tagged with the DNA Extractor will appear on these scans, so actual numbers may vary when dealing with older zombies (i.e. Brain Rot):

Please keep in mind that the Whitlock Building is the blue-coloured square in the very center of each 9x9 grid. Of note, Treweeke Mall is the 2x2 almost white coloured area located near the bottom of the grid. It should also be noted that the square to the immediate north is Duport Avenue, a popular revive point.

List of Dedicated Whitlock Staff
The following is a list of survivors who, for one reason or another, have chosen to make the Whitlock Building their home during the outbreak. These individuals can be considered dedicated to working here and assisting survivors local to the area, such as by reviving those who wait at Duport Avenue. If you are interested in being recognized as one of these individuals, all you need to do is add your name to this list:
(Note: This list, by definition, includes all W.I.Z.A.R.D. members, but is not limited to.)
Current Events
Febuary 3rd, 2009 - Whitlock has been completely ruined and there are atleast 15-25 zombies within the 3x3 area, Two to three survivors at most within same area, Noone was available for comment.
January 30th, 2009 - Whitlock was retaken during a three man assault on the last remaining zombie, finished by I LUV from the D.I.T.P.S. Noted NecroTech scientist, Caleb Usher was unavailable for comment.
January 4th, 2009 - Whitlock is breached. 3 zombies inside, 11 survivors, no barricades.
- Update: Noted NecroTech scientist, Caleb Usher, had this to say, "Keep on fighting the good fight my fellow scientists. The zombie menace is a terrible foe, but they can be defeated. Do not lose heart and stay the course."
January 1st, 2009 - As the new year begins, we can see that Whitlock is back and powered fully. The "Fortress of Science" seems to be holding well.
December 23rd, 2008 - Dead vs Blue recon reported that while the Whitlock Building was ruined, there was only 1 zombie inside.
December 21st, 2008 - The Whitlock Building is currently ruined with 7 zombies inside. Will it be reclaimed before Taco Tuesday? No one can answer that question.
December 18th, 2008 - D.I.T.P.S recon reported that the facility was overrun with 5 zombies inside.
December 11th, 2008 - Metal Fox reported that there were 3 zombies inside the abandoned facility. The building itself was ruined.
December 10th, 2008 - D.I.T.P.S recon reported that the facility was occupied by 2 zombies (3 HP and 6 HP respectively) and 2 corpses.
December 9th, 2008 - D.I.T.P.S recon reported that the facility was still ruined, but that it was being held by only two zombies, both of whom were in sorry shape (3 HP and 6 HP respectively). No doubt efforts by the Dulston Alliance to "soften-up" their target. As it stands it would be a simple operation to reclaim the once mighty "Fortress of Science". What's unclear is how much effort would be required to repair the building once recaptured.
November 30th, 2008 - Metal Fox recon reported that there were only 3 zombies inside Whitlock. It goes without saying that the building was still ruined.
November 12th, 2008 - Just the day after Canadian scientists here at Whitlock finished commemorating Remembrance Day and American scientists paid tribute to Veterans Day zombies burst into the facility and overwhelmed its few remaining defenders. Thankfully every scientist, or anyone who was still alive at the time, was able to enjoy one final Taco Tuesday prior to the breach. Witnesses reported spotting members of W.I.Z.A.R.D. defending the taco cart with their dying breathes. Reports that their rallying cry was "Free tacos for all! Down with zombie anti-taco oppression!" is highly unlikely.
November 10th, 2008 - In classic tragedy style, the zombies came back and overran the Whitlock Building. Oh, the horror!
November 9th, 2008 - In classic underdog style, Dulston Alliance forces managed to recapture the "Fortress of Science". The task was made easier due to the fact that some of the 20+ zombie mob had already moved on to Pegrum Place PD, but hey, victory is victory when facing off with zombies.
November 8th, 2008 - Kittithaj, a freelance Dulston Alliance operative, reported that the Whitlock Building had fallen to the horde. It's believed that the zombies who attacked the "Fortress of Science" were from the mall, which had fallen to the zombie horde less than two days ago.
November 2nd, 2008 - The building is Extremely Heavily barricaded at the time, but due to sabotage, we lack a generator for power. The lack of power really messed up the clocks around the facility which had only just been set for the end of Daylight Savings. Even so, this shouldn't interrupt Taco Tuesday as the stoves are gas powered.
November 1st, 2008 - The building is barricaded and powered. A recent scan indicated there were 98 zombies in the immediate area, although only 7 zombies are outside the "Fortress of Science".
October 31st, 2008 - It is said that during Halloween night a lone blimp flew across the darkened skies over Dulston. Unconfirmed sightings indicated that the small blimp was piloted by none other than noted NecroTech scientist Caleb Usher. The scientist, having departed Malton many months ago, was reported to have rained an assortment of candies from the blimp down upon any unsuspecting survivors or zombies who happened to be outside at the time. The blimp circled the "Fortress of Science" three times (or 'thrice' as it were) before sailing up into the clouds. One survivor even claimed to have a blurry photo of the blimp silhouetted against the moon.
October 24th, 2008 - SNAKEHOUND reported that there were 12 zombies outside of Whitlock.
October 23rd, 2008 - Imperium recon reported that the Whitlock Building was holding strong in survivor hands.
- Update: Kittithaj, a freelance Dulston Alliance operative, reported that the Fortress' barricades had been breached and there were now 15 zombies inside! With that many zombies inside there was sure to be some trouble...
- Update: FOXHOUND forces launched an offensive against the zombies and reduced their numbers from 15 to 10 zombies.
- Update: The battle raged for another half-hour during which the number of attacking zombies in the lobby dropped from 10 to 3 zombies remaining inside. Unless more zombies broke into the building it appeared their attack was about to be crushed.
- Update: Kittithaj reported, "Whitlock is cleared, but still under attack. I witnessed the barricade level as it went down from EHB to HB."
- Update: The battle raged for another half-hour during which the number of attacking zombies in the lobby dropped from 10 to 3 zombies remaining inside. Unless more zombies broke into the building it appeared their attack was about to be crushed.
- Update: FOXHOUND forces launched an offensive against the zombies and reduced their numbers from 15 to 10 zombies.
October 21st, 2008 - Dulston Alliance recon reported that there were 13 zombies outside of the Whitlock Building. The facility is barricaded, lit, guarded, and staffed again so any attempts by the horde to re-take the building are no doubt being met with strong resistance from the survivors inside.
October 20th, 2008 - Kittithaj and rest'in'pieces, the leader of W.I.Z.A.R.D., were woken up as the building's alarm klaxon began wailing. Three zombies had managed to break-in through the barricades this morning and were now attacking survivors in the lobby. Working together Kittithaj and rest'in'pieces launched a deadly counter-offensive against the zombies and killed all 3 of them. After they had dumped the bodies they proceeded to Extremely Heavily barricade the building entrance. Recon reported that there were still 9 zombies outside.
- Update: Dead vs Blue recon reported that there was another breach, but the recon operative managed to clear the last zombie out of Whitlock and the building was now Extremely Heavily barricaded again thanks to their efforts.
October 19th, 2008 - The building remains in the hands of the Dulston Alliance and friends, for the greater good. Odds are good that, even though the building is under siege by a dozen or so zombies outside, Taco Tuesday will pull through. Mmmmm. Tacos.
- Update: Kittithaj returned once again to the "Fortress of Science" and reported, "Anyway, I've been revived, and killed two more zombies in Whitlock (one died after one shot, thanks to whoever attacked it prior). Now the building is repaired and Heavily barricaded. More help will be much appreciated."
- Update: The battle rages on, as 2 zombies managed to break through the barricades and get inside. Survivor security forces inside the "Fortress of Science" responded to the alarm klaxon and engaged them in a heated gunfight. Not matter what the outcome however more zombies wait hungrily outside.
October 18th, 2008 - Kittithaj, a freelance Dulston Alliance operative and very undead at the time, shambled into Whitlock to exact a terrible revenge on the zombies inside. Kittithaj reported (translated from Zombish), "I went to Whitlock and killed the last two zombies. There are 5 dead bodies that needed to be thrown out quick. Doors are secured." After this Kittithaj shambled off to Duport Avenue for a revive.
October 17th, 2008 - Cpt Garviel Loken, Lord General Militant of the Imperium, reported, "There are still 6 zombies inside Whitlock, Task Force Aquila raided the location and knocked them down to that, but there's 10 more outside."
October 16th, 2008 - The Whitlock Building was yet again reclaimed, and no sooner did that happen then it began to attract zombies, 7 zombies to be exact. At this time it's unclear whether the Dulston Alliance has any plans to hold the building, or whether they plan to continue their current guerilla/barricade tactics which they have been deploying so far across the striken suburb. Regardless, the survivors inside the facility plan to fight on and protect their home.
- Update: A breach was reported by SNAKEHOUND, as 5 zombies managed to break through the building's barricades and get into the main lobby. A firefight broke out immediately as zombies began attacking the survivors inside.
October 8th, 2008 - Horror of horrors! Today 5-10 zombies managed to breach the Fortress' defences and get inside the lobby. Survivors rallied against the assault and are fighting them, but it's unclear as to the outcome.
- Update: Tragedy has befallen the most beloved building in all of Dulston. No, not the mall! The "Fortress of Science" has fallen! Even as I write these words no doubt filthy zombie hands are touching our stuff, and then breaking it. Goddammit! And we just got the lab furniture just the way we wanted it. There was this red couch we found at the mall, very affordable (free), and a couple of the guys had helped carry it over while we checked out colour patterns for the new office curtains- [end of report].
October 5th, 2008 - Way to jinx it Yonnua! FOXHOUND reported that Whitlock has fallen. I repeat, the mighty and beloved "Fortress of Science" was overrun with stinky zombies. There, I said it, they're stinky and we all know it! Leave me alone so that I may mourn this great loss to humanity in solitude...
October 4th, 2008 - Whitlock stands tall for over a day. It looks like Dulston may be retaken soon. --Yonnua Koponen 14:19, 4 October 2008 (BST)
October 3rd, 2008 - Bounty Hunters Unltd. reported that the "Fortress of Science" was Heavily barricaded. This points to zombies gathering outside, but no recon of their numbers have been made as of yet. Maybe there's only one?
October 2nd, 2008 - Mikhos, leader of Bounty Hunters Unltd., reported, "I and my good zombie friend Ottari combined our powers to become Captain Planet and reclaim Whitlock, at least for now. Get yer arses over there and help out."
- Update: Barricades were reported to be at Quite Strongly and rising as additional reinforcements from the Dulston Alliance arrive.
September 27th, 2008 - D.I.T.P.S recon reported that the Whitlock Building, which was not yet heavily defended, was overrun. There were 3 zombies inside and 4 more zombies outside. No survivors were indicated to have been inside at the time of the attack, especially since the Dulston Alliance had operatives scattered throughout Dulston reclaiming buildings elsewhere as part of a larger operation to reclaim the entire suburb.
September 26th, 2008 - Rotten Ray of the D.I.T.P.S swooped in and killed the two zombies standing inside the Whitlock Building. He then proceeded to re-barricade the facility. The building is currently Very Strongly barricaded... but fatigue stopped Ray from any further work. A call was made out to the Dulston Alliance for further assistance.
- Update: BASSIST 234 of Bounty Hunters Unltd. heard the call for support and dropped by to assist with raising the barricades. The building is now Extremely Heavily barricaded. He then healed someone who was infected and stepped out so he could rest at his safehouse.
September 25th, 2008 - A very undead Zerta from Bounty Hunters Unltd. showed that, dead or alive, he's always willing to bring down the pain on any zombies he encounters. His recon of the facility revealed that while it was still ruined, only one zombie was left inside... which he had been beating on for a while now in order to "soften" it up for survivors.
September 22nd, 2008 - D.I.T.P.S recon reported there were 6 zombies inside Whitlock, and another 3 zombies outside.
September 19th, 2008 - Rumor has it that The Big Prick is coming here from the SW. --Asheets 18:40, 19 September 2008 (BST)
September 15th, 2008 - Zombies hold this "fortress" along with the rest of Dulston and the horde, growing as normal, are spreading out along the neighboring suburbs, but we are not leaving Dulston either, so don't get your hopes up. drummer1492 19:09, 15 September 2008 (CST)
- Update: "I vote for less commas. And another thing, the zombies have been given a formal notice to vacate the Fortress of Science, if for no other reason than for the sake of the tacos. Did they ever once think of the tacos? No! The people won't stand for it! On an unrelated note there are plenty of tacos outside Malton, but I'm not eating any as a show of solidarity with my old friends at Whitlock." --Noted NecroTech scientist, Caleb Usher
- I thought of the Tacoes. Seriously though, stop pretending you don't go on here! Yonnua Koponen 22:29, 27 September 2008 (BST)
September 14th, 2008 - The Electric Light Torchestra recon reported that the building was in ruins. At this time there were 3 zombies inside the building and 4 zombies outside.
September 5th, 2008 - Dead vs Blue reported that the Whitlock Building was back in survivor hands. This in considered a valuable piece of real estate which appears to be at the top of everyone's list of places to "own", so Dulston Alliance operatives have been called in to help support the facility's defenses and keep in it survivor hands. In other news, the taco cart was set upright again, correcting the terrible travesty from the previous day's attack.
- Update: Another turn in the tide of war, 17 zombies managed to break into the Fortress of Science and kill the facility's noble defenders. Bounty Hunters Unlimited reported that there were still 17 zombies inside and another 11 more zombies outside. The building was ruined.
September 4th, 2008 - With the zombie occupational forces at Whitlock recently PWNED, once again murderers have stepped in to do the zombie menace's dirty work. For shame! Dead vs Blue reported that an attempt by wanted fugitives Canderous Ordo, everyone in here, He's dead Jim, and gaybait to hinder and assault the Whitlock Building's defenders will not succeed. No matter how much they huff and puff.
- Update: Killers aside, a small horde of 20+ zombies, composed of Infected Swarm and ferals, overran the building's defenses and knocked over the taco cart. Why they knocked over the cart is unclear, but it's certainly upset a lot of Whitlock's staff. I mean, those who weren't viciously mauled to death by zombies.
September 3rd, 2008 - The Fortress of Science is barricaded to EHB, with a generator, and several survivors inside. The only feasting here will be that of Taco Tuesday, on the 9th. Yonnua Koponen 12:20, 3 September 2008 (BST)
September 2nd, 2008 - D.I.T.P.S reported there were 20+ zombies inside the facility at this time and no survivors.
September 1st, 2008 - The building is open for zombie feasting, about 15 brothers in there last I checked, it won't be long for hordes to claim it as another zombah victory. --Drummer1492 09:19, 1 September 2008 (CST)
- Update: As of this post, the Whitlock building is now fully controlled by the Zeds. All survivors are dead or very badly injured. The attack on Treweeke mall will soon begin. --Omega360 03:24, 2 September 2008 (BST)
- Update: "Inconceivable!" --Noted NecroTech scientist, Caleb Usher
August 14th, 2008 - The building is extremely heavily barricaded and powered. No zombies in sight. -- Kittithaj 14:27, 14 August 2008 (BST)
July 22nd, 2008 - The building is extremely heavily barricaded, with no power or zombies outside. -- Kittithaj 15:46, 22 July 2008 (BST)
July 15th, 2008 - The building is EHB, lit, and with no zeds outside. --LH779 11:07, 15 July 2008 (BST)
July 5th, 2008 - A group of terrorists called The Dulston Veterans Squad stormed the building and started shooting people. Group leader Meowdam declared war to W.I.Z.A.R.D., and claimed to "Free Dulston" from bounty hunters, and PKers lists. In the ensuing chaos, seventeen people were killed, generator and radio transmitter was destroyed. The terrorists then escaped into nearby area. Meowdam and his associates, everyone in here, gaybait, Shummer, bubyax, Dr Demento, Uebrlebender, Gratefulltobedead, himatok, Maabaa, Jake Bettermaker, and The Speaking Demon, is declared the enemy of the Dulston Alliance and all survivors. They are to be killed on sight from now on. -- Kittithaj (recorded on 6 July 2008)
June 16th, 2008 - As of today, only a single zombie was spotted on a Necrotech scan, the RP is empty, most buildings in the area have power, and somebody suggested gathering as many flares as possible for the 4th of July. --Aldaris 13:32, 16 June 2008 (BST)
May 17th, 2008 - Whitlock Assistance and Rescue (W.A.R.) notified the survivors of the Fortress of Science that on this day they had joined the Dulston Alliance. With this new partnership the survivor fortifications of the Whitlock facility were further strengthened.
May 15th, 2008 - One this day, many, many years ago... say three decades... the birth of noted NecroTech scientist Caleb Usher helped to one day raise the Whitlock facility, aka the Fortress of Science, to glory. These days that man may be gone (he left), but his legacy lives on. Yes, every Tuesday is now Taco Tuesday and for that the people love him. Long live Caleb Usher tacos! Yum!
May 3rd, 2008 - Whitlock barricaded and powered, with all zombies ousted from the premises. --Yonnua Koponen 16:27, 3 May 2008 (BST)
April 1st, 2008 - At the last count I saw 8 survivors and 106 zombies in Whitlock. Looks like no tacos for me today, wish this was just an April Fool's joke. --Seymore guts 06:31, 1 April 2008 (BST)
March 27th, 2008 - The zombie count in the Whitlock area has increased from 231 to 327 over the last 12 hours. They are swarming all around, right now Whitlock seems to be the eye of the hurricane.
- Update: Noted NecroTech scientist, Caleb Usher, had this to say, "Don't panic."
- Update: Noted NecroTech scientist, Caleb Usher, later had this to say, "Okay panic." --Mobius 14:00, 31 March 2008 (BST)
March 11th, 2008 - Though several zombie members of The Dead have been spotted outside local landmarks like Treweeke, the ELT Factory, and even Whitlock itself, the scientists inside couldn't care less. For the first time in months (thanks to a generous military airdrop of meat, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes (wherever Caleb's gone to, he's definitely got some long strings to pull)), Whitlock's legendary Taco Tuesday has gone off without a hitch. Tacos were had at breakfast, at lunch, and with any luck, we'll be eating them at dinner as well. It was delicious. --Boris 22:24, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- Update: Noted NecroTech scientist, Caleb Usher, fully supports any action plan that involves: crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, mouth-watering ground beef, and delicious cheese all wrapped together in a warm taco shell. He was quoted as having said, "Now this is a plan I can sink my teeth into. Tell the unwashed zombie masses, human brains and flesh are no comparison. No comparison. Period."
February 29th, 2008 - To quote the danger level: 'The Fortress of Science stands strong once more. The zombies who foolishly sought to keep the mighty building ruined/ransacked were finally rebuffed. And we laughed at them... derisively. Then we all had freshly baked pie as we savored our delicious victory over the undead hordes.' which pretty much sums it up, although I personally don't remember and pie D: --Aldaris 19:17, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- Update: Noted NecroTech scientist, Caleb Usher responded with, "You didn't get any pie? I could have sworn we baked more than enough pies for everyone. We had to make a new batch after the zombies got into the ones I made earlier this month... no one likes zompie."
February 23rd, 2008 - Once again, we find the Fortress in an endless tug-of-war for control, often with the building ending up ransacked.
But, with a healthy resistance going (and promise of tacos) the situation is hopeful! --Doctor How 19:31, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
February 21st, 2008 - The Fortress of Science stands again, with a stable free running path to St. Anacletus's Hospital, we're ready to revive Dulston. --Aldaris 14:55, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- Update: Hope springs eternal, as the building's residents wonder whether Whitlock will hold until the next Taco Tuesday. The fact that the taco cart has been recovered and is in good condition speaks well for this possibility. --Mobius187 18:26, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
February 9th, 2008 - Three days shy of Taco Tuesday, the Whitlock Building has fallen to the Second Big Bash. Survivors will need to do without their beloved tacos until such time as the building is recaptured and the taco stand re-secured. God willing. --Mobius187
February 8th, 2008 - Perhaps drawn by the smell of the cookers warming up for the next Taco Tuesday, the Second Big Bash has rolled into Dulston like a late-March thunderstorm. Treweeke is taking the early hits as survivors flock in to the Fortress, horrified by the speed of the strikes. And as another winter storm rolls over and dumps another foot of snow on the city, the citizens of Dulston bunker down, realizing that the winter is far from over... --Boris 23:40, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
February 4th, 2008 - W.A.R. has been working at Whitlock for some time now, but with no real zombie threats to the facility the new survivor group has yet to prove their merits to the other inhabitants of the facility. Even so, there are high hopes that they will prove that W.A.R. really is the way to go. ;) --Mobius187 15:01, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
January 11th, 2008 - Whitlock Assist and Rescue (W.A.R.) is being set up. In other news, Gibb Plaza is being overcaded again and the mall got breached. All is back to normal, and we've got people to revive, yay. --Aldaris 18:13, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
January 8th, 2008 - Occasional GKs and sometimes even PKs. However, many of those are being deposed off. duport has become so effective that at many times, there is no one to revive. There has also been talk lately off becoming a separate entity and electing a leader. -rest'in'pieces, --Aldaris 12:49, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
- Update: Noted NecroTech scientist Caleb Usher had this to say, "I accept this great honor, I promise to lead everyone towards our common goal, namely constructing a giant robot from which we can crush all zombies as though they were insignificant bugs! Yes! Oh, and laser-beam eyes, tha-." Of course Caleb's long-winded acceptance/megalomania speech was cut-off prematurely when it became obvious that he could hardly be placed in charge of Whitlock when he was, in fact, no longer in Malton, having escaped many months ago in a gyrocopter of his own manufacture. "Caleb Sightings" are now associated to those unstable individuals who spot Big Foot or UFOs.
- Update: People said that electing a leader would be like sticking a bullseye to his head, sorry for my misunderstanding, we're just gonna create a list of dedicated Whitlock regulars/staff/etc. --Aldaris 13:50, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
- Update: Noted NecroTech scientist Caleb Usher had this to say, "Then it would seem that logic would favor someone who CANNOT be targeted. Perhaps because they are no longer in Malton? I therefore nominate myself. From the safety of <<CLASSIFIED>> I will lead us towards the dream of building a giant robot. So vote for me."
- Update: Ok, that was weird...--Aldaris 14:02, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

- Update: People said that electing a leader would be like sticking a bullseye to his head, sorry for my misunderstanding, we're just gonna create a list of dedicated Whitlock regulars/staff/etc. --Aldaris 13:50, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
January 5th, 2008 - The survivor group Whitlock Assistance and Rescue (W.A.R.) have renamed their group Whitlock Initiative for Zombie Revivification and Deliverance (W.I.Z.A.R.D.). The group felt its previous named sounded far too combatitive for its actual goals, namely reviving survivors and defending the Whitlock facility.
January 1st, 2008 - The place has had lights on for days,(other than occasional blackouts caused by Ruben Kincaid) it's pretty heavily populated. Relatively few hostile zombies in the surrounding area, and needles are being stuck into spines at a good rate at Duport Avenue. No overbaricading problems, the entry point is still open.
The Fortress of Science starts the new year the good way it seems. --Aldaris 10:33, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
December 25th, 2007 - While combat continues throughout the suburb the "Fortress of Science" stands strong once more, safely in survivor hands. Scientists returning to the building are advised that lab clean-up duties will be assigned according to whoever ran first during the tragic attack back on the 18th. NecroTech encourages loyalty and being the best defender, or meat shield, you can be!
December 21st, 2007 - Survivors have retaken the Whitlock Building. There may yet be hope for next Taco Tuesday.
December 18th, 2007 - Tragedy of tragedies! The building is swarming with the undead and, is completely ruined. One can only imagine how the loss of Taco Tuesday will affect local scientists.
December 16th, 2007 - While the Fortress still stands, to the best of my knowledge, it is beginning to show chinks in the armor. A breach was reported last night, and as of last report four zombies were still inside (though considering the amount of traffic the place gets that's probably changed). Don't get complacent, Dulston- that's what's lost us the rest of the suburb. --Boris 17:10, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
- Update: The Fortress of Science has fallen. In a joint effort between the Infected Swarm and the Militant Order of Barhah the Whitlock Building was overwhelmed and ruined with little resistance. --Captain Grisum 04:55, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
- Update: Noted NecroTech scientist, Caleb Usher, had this to say on Captain Grisum's comments, "I seriously question the facts behind the phrase 'little or no resistance', as the building held over 40 survivors at the time, and they all fought valiantly against overwhelming odds. Recon reports indicated that while only a dozen or so zombie stood outside, the other zombies were hiding nearby, possibly cowering (for the lack of a less inspiring verb) at Duport Avenue or 'playing dead' until the zombies could strike full-force. Bottom line, yes the zombie did overrun Whitlock, but the building did not fall without a fight."
December 11th, 2007 - The "Fortress of Science" stands strong, although reports that both the Inman Building and the Waish Building south of the border have fallen has certainly put a damper on Taco Tuesday. Of course, the scientists here march forward, doing what they do best... SCIENCE!
December 2nd, 2007 - While zombies may currently infest northeast Dulston the Whitlock Building remains, as noted NecroTech scientist Caleb Usher put it, "A Fortress of Science". Is there no zombie force strong enough to take on its defenses? Not since the LUE attack has the Whitlock Building known defeat. These days it's a hectic schedule of Mai Tais and rooftop badminton. The scientists stationed here certainly have no fear of zombies.
November 23rd, 2007 - Now there are 5 lonely zombies within scanning range, and none of them are outside. Of course this works perfectly fine for the staff here at the Whitlock.
November 22nd, 2007 - The zombies have moved around a little, but Whitlock remains safe without any zombies outside and now only 6 zombies within scanning range. Most of the zombies appear to still be in the northeast corner of Dulston.
November 21st, 2007 - Only 7 zombies were reported via NecroNet scan today, and none happened to be outside Whitlock. The largest group, of 4, were actually across the border in Rhodenbank.
November 16th, 2007 - Not much to report. Infected Swarm tried to overrun the building, with the important word here being tried. They failed. When will they learn? Whitlock is a "Fortress of Science"! On the other hand the Trood Building has been getting the short end of the stick lately what with all their zombie problems just this month alone. God, we're all happy we're not over there. We wish them the best of luck.
October 13th, 2007 - Local zombies have been beaten back as their numbers have plummeted over the past 2 months, which shows in Dulston's "Safe" suburb rating. At this time there is no more than 9 zombies within scanning range and 5 of those number are standing at Duport Avenue looking for revives. It can be safely said that survivors securely control this area and that zombies are once more under our heel. Long live the Dulston Alliance!
September 16th, 2007 - Deathwire, the DITPS Chief of Staff for Dulston, had this to report, "Well, Whitlock is currently powered down. Some parachuter blew the generator up and proceeded to make an idiot out of himself before being properly disposed."
- Update: Survivors are asked to be on the look-out for a Undeadite death cultist named Stibbs The Zombie, as he recently was reported tearing down the barricades inside the Whitlock building's lobby in an effort to let zombies inside. The tactic succeeded initially, as several zombies did manage to get inside, but thanks to survivors the attack was halted. The whereabouts of Stibbs The Zombie are unknown at this time.
September 14th, 2007 - 147 zeds in the scanned area, but note that DNA scanning has been a low priority, so the scan numbers will be artificially low. --CloseCall 06:16, 15 September 2007 (BST)
- Update: ELT Reconnaissance indicated exactly 170 zombies in Dulston as of 10:27 PM (EDT). Without counting the zombies standing at designated revive points, that makes it 138. --Kikashie ELT 06:35, 15 September 2007 (BST)
September 8th, 2007 - There are two zeds inside the Whitlock building, two dead bodies, and a ton of survivors, but not much barricade is left from the makeshift one I set up. It might even be down already. Whitlock is going to need some help barricading. -- Matthew Corvont 16:00, 8 September 2007 (GMT)
September 6th, 2007 - The Whitlock Building has been attacked, and the upwards of 20 survivors were killed. Survivors are still marshaling to its defense, and will continue to do so until Dulston is safe again. Although with our numbers halved, and quite a few zombies outside, things are looking grim for the Whitlock Building. --Kikashie 00:47, 7 September 2007 (BST)
September 4th, 2007 - The new NecroNet report from the recently re-captured Whitlock Building really puts our situation into perspective. With the number of scanned zombies at 200+, it looks rather grim for Dulston, and confirms the "red suburb" status. At our current numbers, should the zombies converge on any one building, we would be powerless to stop them. --Kikashie 23:34, 4 September 2007 (BST)
August 29th, 2007 - After the fall of Treweeke Mall and many of the surrounding buildings to the combined efforts of half a dozen zombie groups and the work of radical killer cult groups, many of of the ruined structures including the Whitlock Building stand mutely empty with the following message scrawled in blood, "All your base are belong to us."
August 11th, 2007 - A new scan shows absolutely no zombies around Whitlock, but there's a critical amount of 39 undead at Anne General Hospital in the north-east.
August 1st, 2007 - There are now only 12 zombies within the scanned NecroNet area, as once again zombie numbers decrease within proximity to the fortress of science that is Whitlock. During the conflict so far only the Eastonwood Ferals have ever posed a significant threat to this building.
July 31st, 2007 - NecroNet scans revealed a sharp increase in zombie activity as 27 zombies were detected within its area. While most of the zombies were scattered 12 zombies were detected at a warehouse to the northeast. The status of the location is unknown, but due to its nature one can only assume that it will not last long against a determined, hungry mob of zombies.
July 24th, 2007 - Recent information has led some survivors to believe that the Whitlock Building may come under siege, due to information posted by the Infected Swarm:
- ...The Swarm have been renewed and Dulston will fall, with the return of the founding members Captain Grisum and Vachon Blaze a statement was released "With new allies moving in it will only be a matter of time before Dulston is Undead. The Whitlock shall see what is coming in the next 72 hours we have begun to put in place an Alliance of Evil with our Brothers and Sisters that will change the face of Malton..."
This information, coupled with increased zombie activity in north-eastern Dulston and the possibility of other zombies means that the Whitlock Building, and Dulston in general, could be in for trouble in the next few days. Whether this is cause for alarm or merely zombie propaganda has yet to be seen. --Kikashie
July 15th, 2007 - After a break-in yesterday where three zombies attacked and injured several survivors inside Whitlock, the zombie density around the NT building has reached an all-time low. But according to scientific experience, this status won't probably remain for very long.
July 6th, 2007 - With 40 zombies standing outside Anne General Hospital today's NecroNet report shows that trouble is brewing over there and DITPS probably has its hands full right now.
July 3rd, 2007 - Today's NecroNet scan showed that there were 11 zombies standing at Weston Crescent Fire Station! No doubt this is a zombie plot to try and steal Dulston's fire engines! How nefarious... but they will not get far as every spark plug in the city was destroyed as a precaution. One many regret since it led to no vehicular transportation for survivors. Well you know what they say about hindsight being 20/20... (*cough*).
June 29th, 2007- There seems to be a scuffle between long time residents Far Kinell and Dante Noctis. Things have turned physical and Necrotech lab staff are requesting that they take their fight to a different part of town so that ongoing experiments will not be disturbed.
June 24th, 2007 - The Electric Light Torchestra have scanned the area and confirmed there are currently only 9 zombies and none of them are outside the Whitlock Building. Also today marks the first use of a new tracking method, whereby the ELT will chart and compile zombie numbers over the course of each day in order to better graph their increase or decrease in the suburb.
June 21st, 2007 - One day they're gone, and the next day there are 12 zombies in the area. Currently 2 zombies are banging on the doors outside and another 3 zombies are standing at the Duport Avenue revive point. Hopefully those 3 are not hostile and are simply seeking revival services. The remainder of the zombies are mostly scattered.
June 19th, 2007 - After several days of reported, the Electric Light Torchestra has shown a progressive pattern of decreased zombie activity in west Dulston as only a single zombie stands within scanning range. Word of zombie sightings and attacks in east Dulston, though, have increased.
June 13th, 2007 - A NecroNet scan from the Electric Light Torchestra show that there are currently 18 zombies in the area, with most of them being on the border with Rhodenbank and the largest mob, of 6 zombies, milling around Townsend Bank.
June 10th, 2007 - The answer to yesterday's question seems to be: to the Bridgman Building. The scan shows that there are 5 zombies outside, but what it doesn't show is that there are actually 5 zombies inside, posing a threat to the 13 survivors gathered there.
June 9th, 2007 - A drastic drop in zombie numbers indicates that activity in the area around the Whitlock building has decreased dramatically as ni zombies stand outside the building and only 5 scattered zombies stand within range of the scan. the question still remains, where did all the zombies go?
June 7th, 2007 - Today's count show the number of zombies has remained static at 13. Unlike yesterday though there are now 5 zombies outside of the Whitlock building. As such, barricades will be raised to fend off the potential attack.
June 6th, 2007 - Scans show a continue drop in recent days of zombie activity. Possibly due to increased zombie hunting or zombie movement. At this time the scan picked up only 13 zombies in the area, but with only 2 outside the Whitlock Building itself.
June 5th, 2007 - The Electric Light Torchestra have issued their daily NecroNet report for the area. This scan indicates that there are now 22 zombies within scanning range of Whitlock. A drop from yesterday, but it now appears that they are attacking Weston Crescent Fire Station, as a group of 6 zombies were shown to be at that location. Meanwhile the mob outside Anne General Hospital has dropped to 3 zombies.
June 4th, 2007 - A recent NecroNet report issued by the Electric Light Torchestra has indicated increased zombie activity in the area with 27 scattered zombies detected. Of these 5 zombies standing outside Anne General Hospital and may prove at threat to the hospital.
June 3rd, 2007 - A recent NecroNet scan shows increased zombie activity outside the Bridgman Building, in the order of 6 zombies. Due to the increased zombie activity across the suburb an alert has been called in and the occupants of the sister NT building warned of the situation brewing just outside their doorstep.
May 29th, 2007 - The Whitlock Building was under attack by zombies, again, and the Electric Light Torchestra reported they found 2 zombies inside the building. The zombies were promptly exterminated as per Dulston Alliance policy on the matter and the barricades were raised to try and fend off the attackers. Efforts to use cans of the new "Zom-B-Gone" have failed miserably as the zombies seemed unperturbed by its pine-fresh scent. Building staff will attempt to spray lemon-fresh on them at the next opportunity.
May 15th, 2007 - Today everyone who knew noted NecroTech scientist Caleb Usher celebrated the semi-famous, lukewarm-illustrious survivor's birthday with free tacos for everyone. This celebration served to remind newer survivors of the awesome great superior egomaniacal kind of man that he was when he was in Malton and working from the Whitlock facility. So let's raise a delicious taco in his name!
May 4th, 2007 - The Electric Light Torchestra just issued a new NecroNet report. It shows very little zombie activity around Whitlock, there have been no serious attacks recently. Is this only the calm before the storm? Survivors are advised to stay vigilant, to keep the cades at vs+2 and not to combat revive.
April 27th, 2007 - The attacks on Whitlock by zeds from the Eastonwood Ferals continue. Again, several survivors were killed. There are currently 47 survivors still inside, confronted by a mob of eleven zombies, also inside the building. The barricades are up to VS+2.
April 26th, 2007 - There have been frequent zombie attacks on Whitlock. At least eight zombies attacked recently, mainly Eastonwood Ferals, and at least one zombie from the Killer Zombie Tomatoes. Nine survivors were killed in the last attack. Defences, as in those helping barricade, appeared to be too weak to prevent these losses. Some survivors have already voted for a higher barricade level (than VS+2).
April 20th, 2007 - Again, zombies attacked Whitlock, killing several survivors. At least four, but maybe all of the attackers belonged to the Eastonwood Ferals. To quote some informations on their current operation in Dulston: "EF forces will get stationed there for the week to come to evaluate the situation in the so called "green" suburbs.
April 19th, 2007 - After at least three zombies had been milling around the Whitlock building, there was a zed intrusion, four persons were killed. Among the casualties was the co-leader of the Electric Light Torchestra, Balcony Jedi. It is not clear if the attack especially targeted that member of the new management of Whitlock or if he was killed coincidentally. The other persons killed are gray hand, Conster and Donkyhotay. All the technical equipment has been destroyed in the attack.
April 17th, 2007 - After The Big Bash and Mall Tour 07, a new threat to Dulston is emerging. The Dulston Destruction Tour is officialy recruiting members. To quote their page: "The storm is brewing". Time will tell if the DDT will be able to recruit enough members; survivors are advised to prepare for the worst.
April 15th, 2007 - The Electric Light Torchestra have claimed the Whitlock Building as their group's headquarters. As the group is well known in Dulston for their efforts in maintaining the suburb's power grid survivors hope that this focused effort on the NT building will mean it can be kept running 24/7 without fear of vandalism. In turn the ELT hope to shore-up their numbers and thus eventually improve efforts to maintain the power supply for the entire suburb.
The first official action was issuing the current NecroNet report. Zombie activity in Dulston seems low, but over-barricading Whitlock causes serious concern. The only concern would be from the 3 zombies currently standing outside Parrott Towers.
February 28th, 2007 - Treweeke Mall has fallen into zombie hands. In the carnage of the mall's collapse survivors have retreated to fallback buildings in the surrounding area, but Mall Tour '07 is not through yet. Unhappy with the weak resistance they encountered at the mall the horde marches now against new targets, among which include the Whitlock Building! Survivors inside the building brace themselves against the fury of the horde...
- UPDATE: Tragedy of tragedies! The Whitlock Building has been overrun by the Mall Tour zombies. Survivors are asked to stay calm and evacuate in an orderly fashion, unless already dead. The Dulston Alliance has been informed of our situation, but they stress that currently the Alliance is working to maintain barricades on the other targets the Mall Tour is still attacking, namely the Waish Building and Pegrum Place PD. As such, it is unclear as to when survivor support will come to clear the building.
January 14th-17th, 2007 - After almost 3 months the Shamblin' Crooners have returned to the Whitlock Building yet again to serenade the NecroTech scientists while they work. Reports were sketchy as to whether there were any fatalities during this impromptu 4-day concert.
December 25th, 2006 - It's Christmas in Dulston! Everyone, not being eaten by a zombie somewhere, celebrates this blessed day.
November 15th, 2006 - Members of DORIS persist in their claims of controlling all Dulston. Taking a page straight from Conquerors 101 DORIS has instigated a policy whereby local buildings and streets throughout the suburb have been renamed by their group, in this case, the NecroTech facility is now known as the WMD Research Facility as far as DORIS is concerned.
October 14th-18th, 2006 - The Shamblin' Crooners have returned to the Whitlock Building yet again to serenade the NecroTech scientists while they work. Reports were sketchy as to whether there were any fatalities during this impromptu 5-day concert.
September 10th, 2006 - The combined might of zombies from the Big Bash and the Minions of the Apocalypse proves to be too much for the facility's defenders. Once a second front in the battle to defend Treweeke Mall, the Bash and Minions zombies have now occupied it, forcing its shutdown. During this epic battle many survivors from Dead vs Blue here killed, trying valiantly to "hold the fort".
September 9th, 2006 - This is Girit Robbins of the DDDS reporting in with today's zombie report. There are nearly 500 members of the Big Bash within the scan range of the Whitlock Building. In the last five days there has been a five-fold increase in zed activity. The barricades in Treweeke Mall occasionally go down, but seem to be holding. Much of the suburb has less than optimal barricades, but the Dulston Alliance is working on that. One thing that should be noted is NEVER attempt combat revives. Barricade and heal, but do not combat revive zombies. If you do this will allow dedicated zombies the chance to earn Free Running through GK and PK. This has happened on several occasions at the mall. Also there are 57 dedicated survivors waiting for revival, so save your syringes for them. There is also heavy zombie activity in the northeast, but the numbers are unknown at this time. Later today I will scout the area and provide an updated list of their numbers.--JP 16:26, 9 September 2006 (BST)
September 4th, 2006 - Today's Necronet scan of Dulston shows that there are over 100 zombies in our fair suburb. This scan does not reflect those which have not been tagged, moved into the area recently or are outside the scan area. With the Big Bash moving into the area it is imperative we monitor their movements and stay mobile. This scan also does not show the entire suburb which may bring the numbers of standing zombies well past 150. Also a long line of survivors are waiting for revives at Duport Avenue, so lets get them revived because we need them to make our stand. --JP 16:19, 5 September 2006 (BST)
June 30th, 2006 - Today's Necronet scan of Dulston, showing a 9x9 around the Whitlock Building revealed nearly 70 standing zombies. This scan does not include zombies that have not been tagged. Also it does not include brain rotted zombies or anything east of Woodborn Avenue. This may bring the number of zombies in and around Dulston to well over 100.
May 25th, 2006 - After more than a month of peace and quiet, the silence of beeping lab computers was broken by the return of the Shamblin' Crooners. With thei usual flare they broke inside the building and began their concert. Work schedules throughout the building were disrupted as scientists fled, fought, or listened to the zombie rockers. No matter how you look at it, the Crooners put some unlife into an average work day at NecroTech.
May 15th, 2006 - It would appear there is nothing better to report today than the fact that it's the birthday of noted NecroTech scientist, Caleb Usher. Hazzah! Tacos for everyone!
April 6th, 2006 - More Z!ng, Z!ng from the Shamblin' Crooners. Will the scientists of the Whitlock Building ever be able to get enough? Probably, but the Shamblin' Crooners keep on dishing out the tunes.
April 1st, 2006 - After their initial warm welcome and success here a few days ago the Shamblin' Crooners made a return performance to satisfy all their fans who still hungered for more Z!ng, Z!ng. Again, the only fatalities were all good natured ones.
March 26th, 2006 - The Shamblin' Crooners made their usual grand entrance and entertained everyone inside with their famous "break-in & concert" style of zombie rock. Some humans were eaten. Some zombies were shot. Bottom line, everyone had fun. Rock on Crooners, rock on...
February 15th, 2006 - Today's NecroNet scan of Dulston, showing a 9x9 block grid, revealed absolutely no tagged zombie activity in the area at this time. Dulston had apparently earned its moniker "DULLston" with good reason. NecroTech staff hotly debate relocating to monitor the situation developing at Caiger Mall, where mass zombie sightings have provided invaluable information to NecroTech Industries.
February 14th, 2006 - A Necronet scan revealed no tagged zombies are currently located in the suburb.
February 5th, 2006 - With the final stages of our satellite relay uplink finally setup, our staff are finally able to begin issuing NecroNet reports on zombie tracking throughout the area. NecroTech welcomes all survivors to take advantage of this new resource and staff here are advised to assist by submitting new reports. Standard procedure dictates that only one report be added per day, but should the need arise, due to a sudden surge in zombie activity, new reports can be added for either comparison purposes or to replace an existing report.
February 1st, 2006 - The Malton Iditarod has declared that the Whitlock Building will act as the seventh checkpoint in this famous cross-Malton survivor race. It is important to note that this location was not selected as a safehouse, merely a navigational reference so that the racers hit all four corners of Malton. The entire northeastern corner of the city is heavily infested and should not be considered a safe place to stay overnight. All Iditaroders are encouraged to save up their stamina and sprint through Paynterton, Dunningwood, Pescodside, and Dulston in a single dash. Good luck to all Iditaroders!
