UDWiki:Administration/Move Requests/Archive/Apr 2010
This page is for the requesting of page moves by normal users. The average user's ability to move pages has been rescinded due to frequent abuse by vandals; as such, users will need to submit requests (similar in nature to those on Speedy Deletions and Protections) for pages to be moved by a sysop.
Guidelines for requesting a Page Move
Copy the template below (Or just type it), replace the text in red with the relevant details, and paste the template under the Move Request Queue heading. A day after a sysop has taken action on the request, move requests should be moved to the Archive.

Suggestion:20100404 Binocular/Ruin Nerf
Suggestion:20100404 Binocular - Ruin Nerf. Putting forward slashes in addresses is indicative of subpages, which this is not. -- . . <== DDR Approved Editor 12:35, 4 April 2010 (BST)
I disapprove- and I won't deny it's because I don't want to be proved wrong. But only because I don't think I did the wrong to begin with. I can't expres how many of these have gone through before, including groups like Indian/Pakistani Leftovers and all their subpages... Yeah, this is probably stubborn bias talking... But really, I just think this is eccentricity with no apparent benefit to a majority of users who will even look at the page. --

- The fact is you know better than to do this. Also there's a reason those of us that know about peculiarities in wiki systems don't go around exploiting them. Or shall I form the [[1]] group of death cultists and then demand its deletion based on my copyright? And then threaten Kevan with legal sanctions if he doesn't remove it? It's a rapidly sliding scale and one that should be stopped in any instance where it comes up, at least until we get a half decent version of the software that allows us to deal with this crap. -- . . <== DDR Approved Editor 13:20, 4 April 2010 (BST)
- But I didn't do it just to game any system? And besides, in this state, there is no disadvantage or apparent difference to having the page like this- like user namespaces can have sublinks under the page-header, this can't happen here because there isn't any root page to begin with... -- 13:26, 4 April 2010 (BST)
- It's a difference of opinion, I'd prefer all such mainspaces to be altered to the standard and I'm not implying any malicious intent, it's just my preferred vision of the wiki until we get proper software. Summon Rosslessness and Mis as the only active sysops to decide the disagreement. Or we could Thunderdome? -- . . <== DDR Approved Editor 13:32, 4 April 2010 (BST)
- Lol! For the record, I'm fine if the other ops choose to move this- I just don't think it's really necessary as explained poorly above. --
- Heeey! I'm active...kinda. Between being sick and being away from my main computer for the last few days, I've been about as active as could be expected in the less than two weeks I've been a sysop. Anyway, I think I vaguely understand the issue, but I tend to agree that it's not really a problem. If you guys do want to change the name, why not just wait until it's ready to be archived, that way it saves some hassle? After all, there's no harm in it as it is now. —Aichon— 20:52, 4 April 2010 (BST)
