20080102 Skull Smash

PdeqTalk* 04:01, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Suggestion type
Skill

Suggestion scope
Zombies

Suggestion description

Details:

  • new Zombie Skill called "Brain Fest"
  • under the Bite Tree, costs 100xp
  • gives you an attack option to "smash skull"
  • an attack that does 10 damage and has a 15% chance to hit (costs 1ap)
  • can only be used on a survivor who has 10 or less hp
  • a successful blow reads: "You lunge at Player X's head, crushing their skull and feasting on their brain." You may imagine this crushing to occur however you like.

This works much like a flare does as a weapon for humans. Really only useful if you don't have enough ap to finish someone off, and you are feeling lucky. The main purpose is to give zombies a third option in their pitifully short list of attacks that might actually be useful sometimes.

Keep Votes

  1. Author Keep - I've got to support my own suggestion. --PdeqTalk* 04:04, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  2. Keep - Low use skill for 1.5 damage per ap. Less than claws. Balanced. Gets my ever so rare keep vote. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 04:05, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  3. Keep - Balanced, reasonable, and because The Grimch said so. --TriPolarClicky! 06:21, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  4. Keep - Why not? Though I like Swiers' suggestion better. -- John RubinT! ZG FER 07:19, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
I like his too. See my comment on the discussion page to him. --PdeqTalk* 16:28, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  5. Weak Keep/Change - although i think it should be a tiny bit weaker - closer to bite attack. Does Tangle Grasp increase chance? --~~~~ [talk] 09:30, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Tangling Grasp does not affect it, although if implemented someone could suggest that it does. It can't be weaker than claw attacks, or no one would ever have a use for it. --PdeqTalk* 16:28, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  6. Keep - Wow, some variance for zombies! BTW, is that Brain Fest or Brain Feast? --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 10:39, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
It's "fest" as in festival. The names weren't really that important and I don't think I came up with great ones. If you want, you can leave some ideas for the name of the skill and/or attack on the discussion page so Kevan has some ideas if he doesn't like what's in this suggestion. (I can't actually change the suggestion or put options in it, but it's generally expected that a suggestion will likely not get implemented exactly as suggested.) --PdeqTalk* 16:35, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  7. keep - seems like a winner to me ;) --Honestmistake 10:59, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  8. KeepIs it a flat rate of 15% regardless of other skills?--RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 11:02, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
    Yes. --PdeqTalk* 16:28, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  9. Keep - everyone knows that main duty in zombie's life is to walk around and moan "braaaains", so why don't we give them the possibility to really go for them ? I like the idea of this attack being the undead's version of flaregun.--James beckerson 11:52, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  10. Keep - That's a good idea. There's a place for it in our probability-based and AP-based game mechanics. Keep! ~AriedartinTalkA KS J abt all 12:48, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  11. Keep - Brainz has a lot of proteins in it.--  Savant  Chit-Chat  12:54, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  12. Keep - Zombie shotgun? --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 14:16, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  13. Keep - Chomp.Studoku 14:22, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  14. Keep - low % zed shotty... i like it. could be improved perhaps. I don't undesrtand why it is under the bite skill... this should be in the vigour mortis tree, a subskill of feeding drag. -- Jack13 14:52, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Because it involves eating brains (teeth). I forgot to credit Uncle Bill for that idea, and his other input. --PdeqTalk* 16:28, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  15. Keep - as Grim --Ryiis 15:02, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  16. Keep - Nice flavour. --Pgunn 15:04, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  17. Keep - Useful and balanced. --Kramer 15:09, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  18. Keep - Because the The Grinch voted keep. UCFSD 15:39, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  19. Keep - I like it. A survivor who's at 10HP is dead anyway, so you might as well kill them in a satisfying manner. --Hhal 16:36, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  20. Keep It'd be fun to land that lucky last blow. --Jon Pyre 18:20, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  21. Keep Call it "Brain Pinata"--Actingupagain 18:31, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  22. Keep I like it. Allows zombie players more tactical choice.--SeventythreeTalk 19:16, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  23. Keep I think this is perfect, another attack, nice flavor, and a great option for the zombie. This would be nice if also included a 5 point penalty for the survivor to stand, but hey I'll take it as is.--John Blast 19:38, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  24. Keep- Perhaps more power? Whatever- good as is. BoboTalkClown 20:08, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  25. Keep BRAHHHHNZ! Zombies need an update. Slayerofmuffins 20:58, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  26. Keep - Sure. -J. A. 21:17, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  27. Change A) Cause Infection B) if used on someone with more than 10hp (because the zombie does not have scent blood) success results in a bite attack, it just had a 15% chance to hit. - Pardus 22:32, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  28. Keep - Grim voted keep? it must be good!--'BPTmz 22:36, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  29. Keep - I like it! Just like Mortal Combat, finish him! ...Fatality!!! Johaen 23:29, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
  30. Keep - I like this one; that is all...--CorndogheroT-S-Z 00:05, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
  31. Keep - Sure. --Heretic144 02:32, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
  32. Keep - For Variance, if it weren't for that I would spam for being horribly underpowered and useless.--Karekmaps?! 02:43, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
  33. Keep - I like the zombie flare/shotgun combo. --Z. slay3r Talk  03:15, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
  34. Keep - Whitehouse 18:51, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
  35. Keep - I'd give it a little bit higher chance to hit, maybe 25% or so. And the name sucks, but that is inconsequential. --Druuuuu OcTRR 20:43, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
  36. Keep - I like this one. Sounds fair and balanced to me. -- Mordac the Refuser 00:40, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
  37. Keep - It would also be cool if zombies with this skill could also use the letter "i" with their death rattle. Then they could actually say "brainz." Also, brains taste like chicken. --Uncle Bill 02:42, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
  38. Keep - I like it, i could see myself picking it up and using it once in a blue moon. --Kuddles 08:04, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
  39. Keep - Anyone got any asprin? I got a killer headache... Ha, I love it! Great idea. Acoustic Pie 21:59, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
  40. Keep - a persuasive argument from Grim got me to change my vote. (He told me that if I didn't he'd rearrange my furniture!) --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 12:01, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
  41. Keep – A high-variance attack for zombies? Thank you, I'll take it. ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾ 12:13, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
  42. keep I like the idea of a high power attack for zombies--Androo the 2 13:33, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
  43. Keep Cool, we need more skills! --Darth LumisT! A! E! SR 02:14, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
  44. Keep- I'm assuming that it isn't affected by flak jackets, otherwise survivors with them could have their brain eaten and still be alive with 2 hp (then again, I think I once made a humorous suggestion about how they don't have brains to begin with...). Anyway, I like this. Zombies could really use an attack like this, and they'll finally have the ability to actually eat a survivor's brain! --Reaper with no name TJ! 17:31, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Right, not affected by flak jackets. --PdeqTalk* 04:15, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
  45. Keep - It would be really nice to have another useful button to press. - Inky 21:07, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
  46. Keep - Gives Zombies a last resort with in case of low AP. --Livid18:42 GMT 13th January.
  47. I am on a voting spree, but to make this vote valid, I'm in agreement with those above. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 20:46, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
  48. Keep- Arbitrary justification: I like it. -- BKM 21:28, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Kill Votes

  1. Strong kill - I don't uses flares... EVER... so why would I use this? but don't mind me, the vote is gonna pass anyway. --/~Rakuen~\ 17:10, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Unlike flares, this requires no ammo (so you'll have it when you want to use it). Also, a zombie can spend its last ap on an attack because it doesn't have to worry about returning to shelter. In circumstances where a zombie is faced with a survivor with 4-10hp left and has only 1 ap left, this is the best attack to use. --PdeqTalk* 22:50, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Kill :It unbalance the game a fair bit, Survivors are ment to have all the gun and damage stuff it is all balanced, zombies have hordes. if you make zombies more powerful you kill all the survivors Unsigned Vote. --Karekmaps?! 22:32, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
  2. Strong Kill - God no. Flares are only good to use because of their ludicriously low hit rate paired with the fact you have to pick them up. Giving zombies the chance to do a superkill to a survivor should NEVER be allowed. --Vandurn 14:52, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Spam/Dupe Votes

Spam :( Omega 07:00, 2 January 2008 (UTC) Unjustified vote struck.--'BPTmz 22:38, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Because...? --PdeqTalk* 07:07, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Spam - I don't like the flavour. If the brain is eaten, how does revivication work? How would a zombie get brain rot, if there was no brain to rot? --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 10:57, 5 January 2008 (UTC) Changed vote. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 12:01, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
