20071110 Pac Man in Malton!

Ron Burgundy 04:59, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Suggestion type
Improvement, ways to amuse Ron Burgundy, great ideas, things that should be implemented.

Suggestion scope
Everyone who doesn't operate in Central Malton.

Suggestion description
You know how Pac Man used to be able to walk off the bottom of the screen and appear back at the top? Lets make Malton like that! It will make the city infinitely large and infinitely awesome. North of Dulston, travelers will find themselves in Miltown.

I reckon this suggestion will help zombies more than survivors. Zombies tend to move around more and this will effect movement in such a way that the map is geometrically smaller. That is, instead of being a maximum of 10 suburbs away, zombie hordes would only be able to be 5 suburbs away.

Keep Votes

  1. Demasiada perfeccion es un error. --Ron Burgundy 05:00, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  2. Keep - This is the best suggestion ever, and would make traveling along Malton much more interesting! Hilarity would, indeed, ensue.--Codename T 05:08, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  3. Keep - Actually not a bad idea. It also opens up new opportunities when it comes to attacking a 'burb.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 05:09, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  4. Keep - but how would you explain that? sewers maybe. or outside(military) help? i dunno, but that would be up to kevan.--'BPTmz 05:21, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  5. Keep - Could take some getting used to. Also, it would bring more people to the largely neglected and empty suburbs. I'm thinking those 'quiet' malls to the east would get more visitors. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 06:14, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  6. Keep - I could give a good explanation of how this is possible involving hyperspace, however I don't know how likely it is that singularities would form at the exact moment the player stepped into that area, and it's hard to believe that the weight of one player could cause it to pinch off and travel through hyperspace, reemerging on the other side of the map, or that it would only suck in that one bit of matter in the brief time it was there. Several wormholes is another plausible theory, although I don't think I've seen particle accelerators to create antimatter with... Or, we could simply accept that this game doesn't always make sense.--Labine50 MEMS | MHG 07:29, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  7. Keep - Would definately draw attention to the lower burbs. A must have. --Ned Edderson 07:51, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  8. Keep - In before objections from the Border Patrol. --Aeon17x 09:45, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  9. Keep - Would make the game more brutal, keep all the survivors on their toes (except survivors based in central Malton who would already be on their toes.) --Blanemcc 11:42, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
Keep - considering we already have zombies and an infinite amount of supplies inside malton already, why not impletement some sort of subway system to make this possible? it would make the game faster moving and add a new dimension to the ageing tactics of UD --Al duck Improperly signed. --Z. slay3r Talk  05:09, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
  10. Keep - As Al duck and others. I think this would spread the merriment to the outer burbs and ultimately make the game funner, which is what matters to me. --Shoot 1st 15:18, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  11. Keep - Ah, snuggling closer to our zombie friends. Wunderbar! Bluetigers 17:23, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  12. Negligible - We need pills that make survivors eat zombies too. Tunnels from left to right as proper Pacman would be good. And fruit. --Karloth Vois RR 20:34, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  13. Keep - I suppose Kevan would never implement this so it is pretty safe to vote Keep. -- John RubinT! ZG FER 22:19, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  14. Guarda - Im voting 'keep' because Grim voted 'kill'. Sockem 00:21, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
  15. Keep, but with a minor change - Make it work possible to travel from train stations to the opposite side of town. This would only work in suburbs along the border and should cost a fair amount of AP. This should be available to everyone, zombies, humans, even members of the C4NT! --Uncle Bill 00:27, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Update: - I've started a discussion for this and similar subway suggestions on the Talk:Suggestions page. The best idea I've come up with so far also involves the currently useless power stations. --Uncle Bill 19:43, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
  16. Keep - I liek Unkle Bil's ieda!!1!one -- BoboTalkClown 00:32, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
  17. Keep - Yes! Brilliant! Would make the game seem so much bigger, and it would keep groups from boxing in one corner of the map.--MichaelRead 09:17, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
  18. Keep - vn. fuck realism, if UD was so real i wouldn't miss a shotgun 10 times in a row from point blank range on a non-moving target. this is a good and simple idea, let it stay--GomerPyle41 09:18, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
  19. Keep 45% accuracy, 7 damage? We don't need this.--Wooty 18:52, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
keep Whittenside is boring, this will change everything, for better or for worse who cares, its just a game. The man 20:07, 14 November 2007 (UTC)Voted Twice--Karekmaps?! 21:04, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
  20. Keep - Pure genius. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 21:44, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
  21. Keep - This might make it easier for zombies to kill humans and or make fater trips around the map Anti Gorefest5 --anti gorefest5 00:36, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
  22. Keep - < ......o *Wacka wacka wacka wacka wacka wacka wacka* Zambah Pac Man eat human dots. It's not realistic, but it would be an interesting gameplay change. - David Malfisto 14:22, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - What The Frell galaga robotron arkanoid zaxxon timewarp wormhole centaurs??? I hang out in places like Arkham for a reason: to avoid all those crazy fools in Dulston, etc... --WanYao 06:20, 10 November 2007 (UTC) ... besides, Pac Man could only go through those two little tunnels in the left and right sides of the screen. What you are thinking of is Asteroids, where time-space was, in fact, spherical. I mean, if you can't get your classic 80s video games right, why should we vote for this policy??? ;P --WanYao 06:45, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
Point taken. What was that game with the tank that went around shooting cubes and pyramids? --Ron Burgundy 17:35, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
Tank Battle, maybe? I know the one you mean, but I don't remember... --WanYao 01:50, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
  2. Kill - Einstein wouldn't approve -- boxytalk • 06:44 10 November 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - Malton is not in its own dimension. --Cyberbob DORIS CGR U! 06:48, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  4. Kill - Only if there would be ghosts too. ie. makes no sense. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 10:43, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  5. Kill - It's a nice idea but it doesn't really make sense that a city should have pacman physics. Studoku 11:55, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  6. Kill - What the....--SeventythreeTalk 13:32, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  7. Kill - No. – Nubis 15:00, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
Do you mean "yes"? It's ok, sometimes I make that mistake, too. --Ron Burgundy 17:37, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  8. Kill - Not realistic, changes the game too much, a number of other reasons. --Pgunn 17:50, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  9. Kill - There's real-world realism and then there's realism that can be slightly tweaked when it's a zombocalypse game. This is a violation of both. --Howard Bentley 18:14, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  10. Kill - It would be fun, and it's a good idea, in pure game terms. The problem is that UD is not some sort of abstract reality like Pac-Man. We're not playing on a TV screen, we're playing in a city (we like to pretend we are, anyway). --Steakfish 21:11, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  11. Kill - Too much of a tweak. --Z. slay3r Talk  22:50, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  12. Kill - How the hell does one go off the edge of one side of a major city and appear at the other? And aren't there mines surrounding the whole of Malton? --Private Mark 23:24, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  13. Kill We're a quarantine zone, remember? --Secruss 23:39, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  14. Kill No thank you. -J. A. 03:36, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
  15. Kill Just doesn't make enough sense, even if it was through sub-ways, there would be openings everywhere and it allows the whole point of the 50AP limit to be bypassed (so one person coulden't get from one side of the city to another in a day)--Zach016 04:49, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
  16. Kill ~ I have to say it is a bit unrealistic, now if it were something like one or two of the express subwoys were working I could supplrt it as long as subwoys could Not be barricaded and Zombies could also ride them (with Memories of life) Perhaps a 25AP action to deter its abuse? --Loop Ho Tep 06:08, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
  17. kill - While reality isn't that greatest concern in the game, I still have some passing respect for the laws of physics. The Mad Axeman 13:12, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
  18. kill i like the idea and think it would work... sadly it doesn't make sense and what would be gained in gameplay would be lost (about 3 times over) in messing with causal reality! --Honestmistake 14:09, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
  19. kill I kinda like reality--RobotUtron 11:42, Nov-11-07 (UTC)
  20. Kill- There's no reason for this addition, gamewise or for the context of the game world. Please, no. AfroFireman 21:02, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
  21. Kill- While an entertaining idea, no. --Druuuuu 21:21, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
  22. Kill Interesting idea but its a tad silly, sorry Ron.... Either way i dont see any mention of giant fruit in the middle which is another turn off.. add that on and ill reconsider--Someguy5031 01:07, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
  23. Kill What about Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde? Seriously, you Really think this isn't a bit ridiculous? ~A`Blue`JellyTME*V*I*L*? 06:59, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
  24. Kill This game keeps to a limit of beliveability, and it's my job, not that of a teleporting suggestion, to ruin that feeling. Zombies make sense in a zombie apocalypse. A quarantine teleporting you around the city doesn't. --Grognor 17:23, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
  25. Kill As interesting as the thought is, it's simply unrealistic.--Kolechovski 18:37, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
  26. Kill - mama told me "if ya ain't got nuthin' nice to say, don't say nuthin' at all". --Jack13 18:52, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
Kill - This will change the face of UD forever, especially the suburbs at the edge, I'm not ready to ex. The man 20:07, 14 November 2007 (UTC)Voted Twice--Karekmaps?! 21:04, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
  27. KKKill - as much as I would like to say yes, its to unrealistic... --WOOT 02:18, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

  1. Spam Oh, go away, Ron - you zany twit. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 09:38, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
  2. Spam - No. The fact that it takes more than a day to reach some places in the city from anywhere (but the center) is a useful balance feature. Also, having a doughnut world would just make absolutely no fucking sense whatsoever. This is a fucking stupid idea. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 09:49, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

  13. Spam -WTF CENATURS? I know this isn't supposed to be realism but where's your logic with this? Also 1: this would make total hell for wandering n00bs trying to find the edge, and 2: just imagine if the game had started out like this, how would we have made the map? Also the in-game map at the corners would be so convoluted I can't even imagine what it would look like... --AlexanderRM 19:02, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
