Dulston is a suburb of Malton, located in the northeast corner of the city.
Before the outbreak, Dulston was a relatively peaceful suburb with a booming textile industry and several NecroTech buildings where new employees were trained. The suburb's main attraction happened to be Treweeke Mall, which frequently lured shoppers from the surrounding suburbs. During the outbreak, Dulston was deserted and most of its inhabitants were to be evacuated by a military convoy. However, military sources outside of Malton report that the convoy never arrived. It was assumed to be lost, with the evacuees joining the ravenous undead or scattered throughout the city.
Dulston possesses a high concentration of resource buildings, including four NecroTech facilities, three hospitals and five police departments. This has contributed to its lasting strategic importance. Other locations of interest include St. Barbara's Church (98,2), Troubridge Cinema (99,0), the Pepperell Museum (91,4), Parrott Towers (94,4), and the ghost-haunted Caffin Library (95,9).

Dulston - More than just a tourist location!
Though once home to the venerable, but now disbanded Drunken Dead, since the outbreak Dulston has typically been one of Malton's safest and most consistently zombie-free suburbs. For this reason, its typically quiet suburban streets have attracted the attention of two Mall Tours (Mall Tour '06/'07), both incarnations of the Big Bash (Big Bash and The Second Big Bash) as well as invasion by the RRF. Dulston has also been a favourite target of death cultists and serial killers -- in particular the notorious DORIS, who refer to the suburb as New Baghdad. In response to these threats, several local groups banded together to form the Dulston Alliance, a highly proactive coalition who have promised to defend Dulston to the last man, and whose sphere of influence has come to include the entire NE corner.
Interestingly, the suburb is usually safer away from the NE border rather than near it, as a large block of empty streets runs up the centre, effectively dividing the west half (where can be found Treweeke Mall, the Whitlock Building, and the Bridgman Building) from the east (which features two of Dulston's three hospitals, the Trood and Beale NT buildings, and the suburb's only cemetery). Due to this distinctive topography, and seeing as the majority of survivors tend to congregate in and around Treweeke Mall in the southwest, responses times to zombie activity in the NE corner can be delayed.
In August and September 2008, large numbers of zombies -- led by Hel's Daughters and Infected Swarm, but also including non-Dulstonian hordes like Sanitarium, as well as countless ferals converged on many of the surburb's most notable attractions in an effort to permanently remove the Northeast corner's perennial "harman blight". They succeeded for a time, and most of Dulston's inhabitants were driven from the suburb and, shortly thereafter, the Northeast in general. However, after months of slow and tedious block to block fighting, and the routing of this new and all but unheard of stalwart zombie defense, Dulston returned once again to survivor hands at the turn of the new year. Sporadic fighting continues in the Suburb, but for the time being, Dulston has once again become the de facto capitol suburb of the slowly rebuilding Free Zone North.

Revive Points
Revive points have been set up at Duport Avenue (92,4), and Hamerton Road (98,1). Hamerton Road fluctuates as a revive point, due to zombies with Brain Rot taking over now and then plus the sporatic operational status of the Beale Building and the Trood Building. As such, Duport Avenue remains the most reliable place to be revived. Also undead survivors seeking revival should be aware that some survivors groups have taken it upon themselves to reduce the number of standing zombies at any given revive spot whenever there are 15 or more. This has become common practice in light of past sneak attacks orchestrated by zombie groups who choose to hide in plain sight at these locations pretending to seek revival while in actuality they are gathering their forces for assaults on survivor strongholds within Dulston.
It should also be mentioned that, while not a sanctioned revive point for Dulston's larger groups, the cemetery (99,2) located just south of the Trood Building is considered by some survivors to be a revive point due to the Sacred Ground Policy. Of course due to the jaded history of cemeteries within Malton, and the violent nature of the northeast corner of Dulston, getting a revive at the cemetery requires both good timing and a little luck.
Mobile Phone Mast
Dulston's Phone Mast is situated at Parrott Towers (94,4). The group FOXHOUND has claimed responsibility for the mast's daily maintenance and defense. The Electric Light Torchestra has also included the building in both routes covered by their enlightenment-tours

There are small break-ins occurring around the suburb, especially at Necrotech facilities. But the Dulston Alliance has been reacting fast and preventing any damage to the infrastructure. It's best not to sleep alone right now and report any activities over the radio or on a local group forum.--N00bert foxhound DA NW 20:39, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

Almost every building is up and lit. The mall is crowded with its everyday shoppers and mall rats. There are few if any break-ins around the Dulston area. Looks like the residents can relax for a bit while the zombies are on vacation. Also, a recent Necronet scan from the Bridgman Necrotech Building show 24 zombies in Dulston and just 3 in Rhodenbank. Six zombies outside The Fortress of Science, two outside Parrott Towers, two outside St Anacletus's Hospital, and two outside Spicer Row PD, one at Duport, two outside Club Mold and Club Garrett, two outside Howell Library, one outside Andow Towers, and finally two outside the Perryn Building. Other zombies are on the street or at cemeteries.--N00bert foxhound DA NW 17:51, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
- Update: Metal Fox leader, Jaydeeps, witnessed a break-in at the Whitlock Building late today. He helped manage the situation as best as he could, but when overwhelmed, he called on his ally, FOXHOUND to help. Metal Fox and FOXHOUND has cleared the building, barricaded, and provided a generator. Some fuel would be much appreciated. Everything else in the suburb looks pretty good, with minor break-ins every once in a while. A few buildings are still ruined. --Met Fan F 00:34, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- Update: NecroWatch reported in from the Bridgman Building today. A recent scan had revealed that there were now 27 zombies within scanning range of the facility. Of these numbers, 6 zombies were at the Whitlock Building, while the rest were scattered across the area with no more than 2 zombies at any one location. Due to the overall concentration of zombies survivors are advised to monitor barricade levels, but overall the zombie situation does not appear to be serious. --Mobius

The mall is suffering minor break-ins. There was 1 zombie inside the SE corner this afternoon when a FOXHOUND operative came by. The rest of the suburb looks okay overall but the zombies are starting to scratch at the mall doors again. FOXHOUND urges survivors to be diligent in their 'cade patrols. --N00bert foxhound DA NW 19:23, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Of these numbers, 11 zombies were at the Beale facility itself, 8 zombies were at the Perryn Building, while 4 zombies were at both Spicer Row PD and Troubridge Cinema. The remaining zombies, which numbered in the 1's and 2's, were of no serious threat to any other locations while on their own. --Mobius 16:44, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
- Update: Dulston Alliance operatives have been securing small buildings around northern Dulston. Keeping a strong foothold at Beale Building and Spicer Row PD. With the combined efforts of PANTHER, the Dulston Alliance and it's allies, Dulston is now a safe place to sleep for all survivors.--N00bert foxhound DA NW 18:21, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Treweeke Mall is in survivor hands. PANTHER seems to be primarily responsible for the recapture. Numerous other groups have arrived on location to continue securing the area. -- SJC Cato 22:53, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Things to do while in Dulston
- Enjoy Some Comic Relief! - While you're in Dulston, try to treat yourself to a warm cup of n00dles. N00dles is the best Urban Dead webcomic around, and it is created and maintained by two FOXHOUND members, TheIronGoat, and Met Fan. It is a comic outlining the adventures of these two lads around Dulston, and Malton. It is fulled of humor, and it may even cure all major diseases. Don't quote us on that, though.
- Shop 'Til You Drop! - Looking for that special something that might help keep you alive? Then why not drop by Treweeke Mall; where prices are so low we're practically giving everything away! So shop around or just hang out for a few days. Is there a limit to how long you can roam our halls and shops? Nope. Stay around long enough and become official "mall rats"! We really couldn't care less. Or more! But be sure to always remember, whatever you need you'll be sure to find it here, at the mall.
- Stay Current With Current Events! - Visit the Naisbitt Building, official printing house of the Dulston Dispatch, Dulston's first and only newspaper! Inside you'll find amazing things such as, but not limited to: Stacks upon stacks of blank paper, drums full of ink, and an industrial size printing machine! Great fun for most of the family. Issues are printed out weekly and sell at the reasonable price of free!
- A Funny/Religious/Cult Experience! - Pilgrimage to Troubridge Cinema in order to gain wisdom from the Night of the Living Dead (now playing) and then travel to St. Barbara's Church to seek enlightenment from the Survivor Saints.
- Games, Alcohol, & Good Times! - Survivors are invited by the survivor group, Dead vs Blue, to stop by Downe Towers so they can join in on some Halo/Halo 2/Halo 3, drink some beers, and debate about which pistol you prefer to use against the proverbial "Flood" (i.e. zombies).
- Learn How to Drive! - Forgot how to drive? Think driving would be an amazing way for getting around zombie-infested Malton? Course you do! So come on down to Crazy Ed's Driving School and learn how to drive... possibly.
- NOT Haunted, So Read a Book! - Come visit the very cheerful Caffin Library and be sure to stay the night. Rumors of survivors being found horribly mutilated are exaggerated, because seriously, what kind of survivor doesn't get horribly mutilated at least once while in Malton? You'll be fine. Relax.
- Enjoy Grea- err, "Edible" Food! - McZeds' Dulston branch is located at the old Nott Auto Repair building, which is conveniently found at [98,3].
- Eat the Homeless! - Dulston is famous Malton-wide for its street people! Whether they sleep outside by choice or by circumstance, there are almost always a few (dozen!) hobos squatting on Dulston's sidewalks, silently beseeching passersby for a spare heal or two. Sure, they're a bit smelly... but a brain's a brain... gnam gnam...
Barricade Policy
The D.D.D.S originally compiled the Dulston Optimal Defense Diagram back in 2005. This diagram is designed to serve as a specific barricade layout for the entire suburb during regular day-to-day operations. Of course in times of siege or intense suburb-wide zombie attacks, survivors are advised to retreat to Treweeke Mall and follow the Dulston Alliance Emergency Plan.
