Bandoliers

For the stylish Terminator, Rambo, or Pancho Villa in you. It cannot increase your ability to hold ammo, of course, but it can be worn over other clothes (possibly in the jewelry slot). They can be found in gun shops and most 80s-action-movie wardrobe stores. --Skitchipoo 05:09, 7 June 2007 (BST)

No

  1. It's a town in the UK, note the lack of the Terminator, Rambo, or Pancho Villa and Bandoliers in popular culture. To close to humorous content. out of genre.-- Vista  +1  09:28, 7 June 2007 (BST)
My problem with suggestions like this is more the fact that players who found them would expect them to have a special game effect, and I wouldn't want people wasting time trying to work out how to put ammunition into their bandolier (this is why night-vision goggles were implemented as being explicitly "broken", at least for now). Submitting a clothing idea that actually has a significant game effect is fine, but it should probably go through the main suggestions system. --Kevan 11:10, 7 June 2007 (BST)
Heh, That both puts me in my place and kills this suggestion. If you are interested in putting them in though with an effect, there have been a couple of "real" suggestions concerning bandoleers already 1, 2, 3, 4. Although I don't like them, there seems to be a market for them.-- Vista  +1  11:38, 7 June 2007 (BST)
I absolutely agree that bandoliers shouldn't have any effects on one's inventory, and I was only suggesting this as a non-functional clothing item. I would hope that people would realize that these bandoliers, like the rest of the clothing in the game, would not have a real in-game effect (much like how wearing a straitjacket doesn't hinder one's ability to use their arms). Also, bandoliers aren't restricted to pop culture, I just advertised it that way. --Skitchipoo 20:13, 7 June 2007 (BST)

Vests and Military Vests

[user] is wearing a [colour] down feather vest, [user] is wearing a [colour] military vest, I'm guessing jacket for both, for the down one im guessing a lot of colours, found in malls, for the military, obviously green, black and tan, found in forts.

Yes (Vests and Military Vests)

  1. You should add paintball vests as well. --Hhal 21:12, 25 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Author vote-i play paintball, theres really no such thing as a paintball vest, if you want to sugest it, you can. and im really only for the military vest, but i had to suggest a plain vest with it. --taxeds5 12:44, 26 August 2007 (GMT)
You don't believe in paintball vests? Shame, shame! --Hhal 01:09, 27 August 2007 (BST)
Ok, theres a paintball vest, but it looks like its for super serious jungle ball. if you want to suggest it, power to you. --taxeds5 4:30, 27 August 2007 (GMT)
  3. Let's just stick to military vests - normal vests are already in-game. I think camo vests or whatever (the ones with lots of pockets) would be a great thing to have in the forts. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 01:16, 27 August 2007 (BST)
ya, i really only want the military vests, but if i suggested that, i would have to suggest a regular one. --taxeds5 4:31, 27 August 2007 (GMT)
  4. Yes. THe only problem I could possibly see would be if people thought the vests where made of some bulletproof stuff, or something.--Seventythree 13:54, 27 August 2007 (BST)
yes that would be a problem, but thats why we have flak jackets. --taxeds5 3:24, 28 August 2007 (GMT)

  11. Yes - I don't care if it's called a vest or a waistcoat, but there should be casual and military versions, which means more than the existing black, grey, white, dark purple, dark red and dark green. Hunters should be able to get orange somewhere. Forts should get camo, khaki, etc. Police Stations should get black and dark blue. Malls should have a range of colours. Clay5x 07:42, 27 October 2007 (BST)
  12. Yes - As long as there are military style vests --Raynor16 23:08, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

  1. Spam A waistcoat is a vest, and they're already in the game. --WanYao 05:23, 25 August 2007 (BST)
a waistcoat is formal. have you ever seen our soldiers in iraq wear a waistcoat? have you ever see someone wear a waistcoat for warmth? i didnt think so. its not spam. --taxeds5 12:36, 26 August 2007 (GMT)
I was under the impression that in UK terminology, a waistcoat means the same thing as a vest. I looked it up in the dictionary -- before I voted here -- and I saw no mention of a specifically formal vest. It was just defined as a vest. And... I just did a google image search, and if you do the same you'll see photos of all kinds of vests -- from formal styles, to informal, to outdoors/military vests with pockets and padding for warmth. Like here. The terms appear to be interchangable in the UK. Q.E.D. - as far as I can tell, the suggestion is spam, sorry. --WanYao 22:26, 31 August 2007 (BST)
ok, good point, but not in my context. see, i really like naruto, and im trying to complete a konoha jounin look on one of my guys, so im referring to one of those green vests. if you want to see what it looks like, google image kakashi/jounin vest. i guess specifically what type of vest is up to your imagination, that ones mine. --taxeds5 6:14, 1 September 2007 (GMT)
A lot of the UK terminology is confusing for North Americans... I'm familiar with a lot British terminologies, but when it comes to clothes... not really... --WanYao 07:00, 1 September 2007 (BST)
so... wanna just call it a tie? --taxeds5 8:43, 2 September 2007 (GMT)
In England, a vest can be one of several things. 1) a white, sleeveless cotten undergarment (what Americans refer to as a tanktop I think, A little like basketball shirts in shape) 2) a string vest. See above, but made out of woven string. Steryotypicaly worn by chavs (kind of like american white trash, I think.) 3) A sleevelss shirt of any kind can be sometimes referred to as a vest-top. Hope that clears some stuff up.--Seventythree 00:42, 3 September 2007 (BST)

Striped sweaters

Striped sweaters! 'Cos you know, plain boring solid-color sweaters aren't everyone's cup of tea. P: Would go in the Jacket slot along with existing sweaters. I don't think color will need to be specified; like camouflage, the color scheme depends on perception. Or in the very least, they can be standard black-and-white.

Fishing Vest

Its logical that survivors would want lots of pockets for holding small, light items, but (unlike above) this is a common consumer item with no implied benefit, unless maybe Malton had a fishing hole I'm not aware of. Would be found in malls (sporting goods stores) and would come in tan plus maybe a few "woodsy" colors or camouflage. SIM Core Map.png Swiers 00:45, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

I believe that the same rules apply in Clothing as they do in Suggestions, even if they do not, it is logical to strike an unsigned vote. Think about it this way: I could just make a suggestion, then vote for myself about a million times. I could go through the history, figure out who voted for it, then put the "this unsigned comment was left by...", but I really don't have that kind of time.  Billy Club Thorton  T!  RR  18:23, 8 April 2008 (BST)

Sweater Vests

A simple, classy sweater vest, using the jacket slot, available in all colors, and found in Malls, Hotels and Towers. There are sweaters and waistcoats, but niether of these are quite the same thing. A sweater vest is lighter and is usually worn under a coat of some sort; It is lighter than the usual sweater, and more durable and informal than a silk waistcoat. They are very popular among teachers, scientists and other reserved, academic types. --Palladium477 06:42, 27 July 2008 (BST)
