The TourInspired by DY's Culture Tour 2008, I will attempt to visit every museum and library in the city of Malton (including the libraries in mansions), studying in each one and repairing any that are ruined. Like DY, I hope this will showcase another side of the Philosophe Knights to any who ignorantly believe we are simple killers.
Recent NewsNOTE: For events prior to July 2014, see the Culture Tour News Archive. July 2014Week 9 - after waking up from ANOTHER three-year nap!I received a revive in Havercroft from this fine fellow, then visited all centers of learning in Barrville, Ketchelbank, Brooke Hills, Yagoton, Lamport Hills, East Boundwood (plus a few others inbetween). I also had a delightful chat with Dr. Godred Crovan, the librarian of Nation Library. All 24 centers of learning visited this week have been in excellent repair. August 2014Week 10I completed the sububrs of West Boundwood, Quarlesbank, and Jensentown. I also found myself a new mask, due to the fact that the well-dressed gentlemen of the Malton Gallant Society commented that my clothing was quite respectable, but a bit shabby in upkeep and in need of a good cleaning. I learned that they are a group that "maintains a degree of scholarly pursuit in all matters," and FAKs all survivors, even PKers. I then headed south to start on some new suburbs, but got waylaid repairing a few museums along the way. I'd already visited them, but the habit is too ingrained, now -- I can't just pass by a ruined museum or library and not do something about it. Of the 9 sites visited this week, 2 were ruined. I then died at the hands of this fellow. Week 11After receiving a revive from the lovely Queen Mum, I visited a total of 28 sites, completing the suburbs of Richmond Hills, Havercroft, Shore Hills, Brooksville, North Blythville, Greentown, and Dartside. None of the buildings were in disrepair, but racist graffiti on one of the walls finally impelled me to add a spray can to my inventory. In Greentown, I included the Malton College of Medicine in my itinerary. Like most of the city, its numbers are in steep decline, but there were still several persistent teachers and students in the wings. The MCM confirmed that they also maintain a rot revive clinic, helping even the most chronically undead regain a state of full human consciousness. In my travels this week I was also approached by Kalli May, who discussed with me her own beliefs about the path to enlightenment. A final observation: Richmond Hills is a safe and hopelessly complacent suburb, to the point where buildings there are decorated with extensive collections of looted museum artifacts (and even Christmas lights!) On the other hand, the safety of the suburb also means that the museums are full of well-kept displays. Week 12I visited 14 sites this week, completing the suburbs of Lockettside, South Blythville, Owsleybank, and Crooketon. The Lawler Museum (the one ruined building I encountered) held me up for a day or two as I attempted to clear out a rotter; I believe I will need to purchase gun skills soon, especially if I hope to succeed in more dangerous suburbs later. One interesting individual I ran across this week was OfficerDrevin, who repairs and defends The Beacham Museum and its vicinity.
